Just getting started again. More than 10 years after I sold all my analogue Nikon SLR gear I recently bought a Sony Alpha 77 SLT and some equipment.

I have a sony a5100 I do video stuff with.

For video, it's miles ahead of all other cameras in price range.

you really need 16gb? Unless you do a lot of video editing or something similar, you'd benefit more by just getting faster memory.

I'm trying to recall how to attach a file vs embedding it. Once I figure it out (or you tell me), I can attach.

I recently bought a telephoto Lens from  a friend, a full-frame Tamron 28-200mm. On my camera's APS-C sensor, it becomes a roughly 45-320mm lens. It's not image-stabilized, so I set it up on my sturdy tripod and tried my first attempt at photographing the moon with it. After a bit of experimentation, I settled on 320x, ISO-100, f8, 1-250th of a second exposure, and manual focusing. Just a fraction of a hair off from the Infinity mark gave the best focus. Here's the shot, cropped to enlarge the moon. No sharpening was done to it in post-processing:

 

I would love to see the full res of this. I also have an APS-c and I've been curious how much of the moon I could get with a 200mm.

we've had bigger and closer calls in just the last two years... i remember one of them being half that distance.
