AP - Dallas, Texas 2024 "Texas again made history today with the first ever state execution of a dead man already killed previously by a Texas law enforcement remote bomb. First degree murder charges with special circumstances and hate crimes were brought against the corpse of Micah Xavier Johnson in 2017 after a 6th month investigation during which the accused refused to speak to investigators. State prosecutors immediately demanded the death penalty. The accused refused to offer a plea therefore his court appointed attourney entered a plea of 'not guilty' on his behalf. Johnson also refused to take part in his own defense. After a three week trial Johnson was quickly convicted by a jury of his living peers. The jury also recommended his sentence of death be carried out by lethal injection. Newly elected President Donald Trump praised Texas for its speedy and fair prosecution and announced new Federal legislation to set mandatory prison sentences for Federally convicted dead people. Johnsons body was immediately transfered to a maximum security prison and solitary confinement to await his sentence where he received no special privileges and was allowed to be wheeled out into the sun only one hour per day. The warden reported that Johnson was a model prisoner, never talked back to the guards, and never caused trouble. Johnson never filed for an appeal. However on his behalf anti death penalty advocates sought to overturn the sentence to death in prison without the possibility of burial. The case eventually made its way to the Supreme Court in 2024 where the majority found, in a 9-3 decision, that Texas had the legal authority to put dead men to death since corpses do not have Constitutional protections regarding cruel and unusual punishment. After which there were three vacancies following the sudden retirements of the three dissenting justices. His sentence was carried out at 12 midnight local time on May 13th after Republican Governor Ann Coulter refused requests for clemency. Mr Trump, still in his first term after being declared President for Life, in a speech every American in the nation watched under penalty of death declared that justice has been done."
Yes extremely sarcastic for this tragedy. But considering how many outright stupid people there are in this country some things need to be said.
