  1. Well I suggested cutting down on streak respawn protection to maybe 3-4 seconds. Enough to get out of the way in case anyone is there. But... nope... cant have that.

  3. Turtle Beach Z22. Very comfortable. Many sets are quite comfortable so long as you dont wear glasses. Otherwise they make them pinch above your ears and after awhile it hurts. It does require both usb and analog out. usb for the amplifier and mic. Analog for the sound. The jack without it is one of those headphone/mic integrated ones.

  5. Besides, you chose to save the cars instead of using them. I assume for good reason. Why should you have been forced to use them when you didnt want to?
  6. You had to earn those 8 cars like always. You get nothing for free and would have gotten those cars anyways. The only difference is that you had greater flexibility in when to use them. Exactly which server is running this mod? The only one I know of that has it shows no activity.
  7. It wont stop predators now. But yea it is considered an airstrike because, well, it is. As you would have it, artillery would block helicopters.
  8. I'm not sure what you mean about the heli. In any case artillery time has been shortened a bit by reducing the number of volleys. But each one is bigger and a little larger spread. For SAM's I will make it like all the others. If a friendly UAV is active they can be partially targeted. Otherwise they cant. Targeting does have its limitations. If there is a UAV then its knows the general area it is at but not exactly. The launcher will fire in a straight line. If the missile gets close enough it will lock on. If it misses and gets too far away it will lose it. I will be working out the numbers for this as they are used by more people.

  10. If I can make it work.... a big 'if'... Tito got the stealth chopper model for me. He really is generous making up these things. Using a different model is the easy part once I can get the poly size down. Its pretty heavy. The hard part will be making it invisible to the minimap. Unfortunately for cod4 its an all-or-nothing thing for each team. I can make (I think) heli's hidden to an enemy team but it has to be all of them. Because there can only be one attack heli at a time that is not a problem. But it does mean I cannot use heli's for care packages otherwise they will be invisible also. So that would mean ac130 drops for all of them. Which in itself is not a bad idea because they are generally faster. I can probably make it up so each team has a different skin for their ac130. edit: so this would replace the littlebird.
  11. Been there. Done that. By far most XI regulars refuse to play anything else.
  12. 1.46 will support all stock gametypes and ftag on first release. The others like ctf I havent had the time to test out much. I had the test server on tdm to keep the action up. Better for testing. But changed it to ftag. Its stock maps only. Due to some server issues its not working with big maps and I am pretty sure all the ones in the rotation are ok. If not let me know.
  13. Man lives on more than just freezetag alone. To paraphrase an old saying. If I can get it finished up enough by Friday for a first-run I will see what I can do.
  14. It will support freezetag. In fact it will have the AI controlled uav desfroster that is really cool. I used the SMR quite a bit yesterday checking out the various settings and I like it a lot more than the scar. It doesnt have different settings. Just one of those things that cant be explained. The weapon itself is from Ghost and courtesy of Tito. It is always good when there are other modders in the community that are good at doing things that I am, at best, a novice at. It should also be a bit more compatible that might allow for some maps that are currently unplayable. No guarantees tho. If people are fine with switching the main server mod from time to time while its being developed I can do that when its ready. So long as nobody screams at me. Another option I am looking at, if I can free up room and make it fit, is replace the steyr-aug assault rifle with the sc-2010 or something else. The HBAR variant would still be in the lmg class as a heavy rifle. The sc would be a g3 replacement. Would people prefer a g3 style weapon over the aug? The AR class would have m16, hk416, m14, ak47, smr and sc2010. All but one would match the weapons they replace. hk416 = m4. sc2010 = g3. However the smr will not match the g36, which is little different than the m4. It is somewhere in between the hk and ak.
  15. You will have to give up perk 1 for the dual attachment but included is an M16 with silencer and reflex sight. Add double tap and you have a very nice medium to long range weapon that is not quite full auto but pretty close.
  16. Players are not kicked for ping unless punkbuster wants to do something. The 300 setting affects players trying to join. After they have joined there are no more checks.
  17. The SMR model will be replacing the scarh. It will retain the same stats.
  18. I can ignore anything and tell people its my decision and mine alone and that is that. I dont want others to get an earful because of it.
  19. Thanks. I was very very unhappy how some people were unfairly pushed very hard to try and change things because they didnt like things being fixed. I will not cause that to happen again.
  20. I read somewhere that a significant problem with wireless is that there is a slight delay because of the time to transmit, receive, and playback the audio. So if for example it is easy for you to notice lipsync problems they might be there. Unless that is something they have fixed in recent times.
  21. Double tap does nothing to recoil. Nadda. Only fire rate. The HK is 'exactly' the M4. Scar has has more recoil than what? The HK? Of course. It has less ammo because of the greater damage it does per round. Like the difference between an M21 and M40. In that regard the AK is at the top, but has the most kick. As for red dots, that is outside the realm of what sidearms are for. Close range weapons that dont need a sight. The Glock is an exception, for the model, as a specops weapon. edit: I dont really like the iron sights on the scar either. There is a newer version of that available and when I have time I will check it out. Another option, I will remove scar and put the acr model with the %100 exact scarh stats if... and only if... there will be zero complaints that its not the same as the old one. Zero comments about changing it or even nice requests. When I mean zero I mean not single peep from anybody to myself, Rugger, or any admin. Nothing at all in-game either. If there is even a slightest chance that even one person will complain to Rugger about it then this will be a non-starter. I will require everyone to post in the forums that they agree to these terms. And I do mean everybody. If I dont see a lot of people doing this then it wont happen.
  22. I guess thats one thing about this whole bruhaha. To get the old mod back, with the acr, is it worth it to give up all the other things now available. If... which I am looking at today... would people rather have the acr or have the mp5/hk416 rds+silencer as special primary weapon options? Since its a dual attachment it would disable perk 1.
