A couple weeks ago the range was increased by around %15. I am considering a couple possibilities for 1.46 such as making the nade into more of a short term emitter like how its used for defrosting. It will instead emit a shorter range EMP field for 15 seconds. So for an anti-car you can throw it ahead of where the car will go and it will still get it unless it turns away. Or simply throw it at your feet and keep moving forward hoping the car will still try to follow you into the field. But if they pay attention they will see that you did this, or see the flare, and go somewhere else.
Yea there is a bug about the nade exploding after you die. On my list. One of those things that nobody ever told me about until recently. Or if anybody did I dont remember it. The nade will explode right after it stops moving. Like stun.
For games there is no 'cure'. Just proper game balance within the parameters available with an eye towards all players.
