No FT1 uses another mod.

So far, for testing, the print line uses the extended obituary system and it works well. I found a 'vengeance is mine' sound from UT3 as a possible battlechatter replacement when this happens. Havent added it in yet but will see how it goes. There are more to choose from but they are relatively generic and dont suggest anything about getting a player on a list. It looks something like this Sammy>XI< killed DemonElf (#5 Most Wanted). Hit location: Upper torso. Weapon: WA2000. Distance 101.9m So once a list is put together get the GUID's to Rugger.

Playing long sounds like that is generally not advisable. Could do voices like Duke does for the usual 'tango down' ones. The one above is too long. Cartman saying "son of a bitch" would be better but sound clips from TV or movies shows dont sound very good in games. I've tried it and the results were poor. For voices to sound good they have to be done in a sound booth with no extraneous noise. I might have a UT3 bonus sound that would work. I have to look.

Actually it is easier to defrost because the target area includes both the player and the ice. When the ice is non-solid your beam must be focused on the player body only. It might seem harder because when you defrost currently the ice shrinks and you may not have the beam on the center. The older way simply forces you to aim better on the target. If you remember, there were complaints especially at longer distances because the ice was basically invisible to the beam. So its a catch-22.

I sent a quick PM so I am putting this out there: Take a poll of sorts. Pick the 10 ten most wanted. The list will be used as a notification on the updated mod when they are killed. Maybe an extra +10 points for the killer. It would be a notification like is done for one player unfreezing another on the printline and everyone will see it. "Attacker killed one of XI's Most Wanted: Victim" Opinions?

I suppose then there should be a list for least wanted.

I am pretty sure once you buy a license it is yours forever, so long as you dont go against the EULA. But Im no lawyer. It would require a team of lawyers to understand it all.

I still dont know how they are going to get away with selling a game with multiplayer that doesnt actually work anymore.

Depends. Do you want non-solid icebergs again? Do you want the regular crossbow back? Do you want the m32 + warmachine? Its not a new mod just mostly some updates and bug fixes. But if nobody wants these things then so be it. Its not like anyone is paying for a new game.

Opinions........... I asked and thinking about adding the updated mod as an alternative on the main server now and then. But it is not a replacement. Hopefully that would keep the population. However it would only be running while I was there and can keep an eye on things. If there is a problem I could immediately switch it back. Or when the map is done and I have to leave I would switch it. Due to my hours, PST, it would have to be in the evenings. Does require downloading the new files to a new mod folder. Would this work out for everybody?

The player base speed may be tweaked higher in the other server. I dont remember and will look. edit: Made some tweaks to jumping and moving so things match and restarted the server.

I know its like me asking players to be masochists and kick themselves in their own balls then ask for seconds... but if people have time this week I am interested in finding out if there are problems with the mod updates or things need tweaking.

I've seen that a few times over the years but it was not mod specific exept for an old mod bug that wouldnt shut off the thermal in between rounds.

OBS works pretty good for open source but the default quality isnt very good. I think their website in the help section has a guide on how to tweak things manually for the best results. The best is when the video/audio is uncompressed, which will obviously need a great deal of HDD space. Since the codec used is h264 you will need that installed on your computer. ffdshow might do it. Otherwise you need the x264 codec on sourceforge. Use avidemux to change the video/audio to a readable format virtualdub can use so you can crop it and save the result. Since youtube automatically compresses the video before sending (I think its before) there is no need to compress it first. Or if I am correct compress it yourself to h264 in virtualdub and upload it. Or you can spend a few bucks and get a program specifically designed for in-game recording which is much easier to use. The only reason I use OBS for cod demos is because of the xfire audio sync problem and when I need to capture the desktop. And I am a cheap bastard that has no problem trading time and effort to save a little bit of money.

Updated mod test server now live. Has the same rotation as the main server. Gametype is TDM. There are six files. The mod.ff and five iwds. Unlike the other server the iwds only have one letter, which had three. The short names hopefully help a little more with checksum mismatches on round changes on some maps. But we shall see. Hi all... Just want to give a notification that I am in the process of uploading the next update to the mod to the other 24 slot server and redirect. Hopefully it will be online later this evening barring any problems. Will post when its all ready. Yes, non-solid icebergs. Chinalake is out. M32 mgl with iron sights in its place. Standard Colt 45 is out. In its place is a gold M9, rebalanced to the 45 stats. 10 round non-explosive crossbow in perk 1. So now there are two kinds. Note: It fires projectiles not bullets. So at long ranges there is a tiny delay (like projectile based sniper rifles) but no gravity. Yes I did a lot of testing on accuracy but that doesnt compensate for poor aim or not taking your time to line up your targets. War Machine streak at 11 kills. 6+6 rounds. Note: As in BO Zombies there is no manual reload and the full reload sequence must complete or it is cancelled. WM remains after death. Also available in Attack Package. Has a reflex sight. Added some missing sounds. Custom player skins. No other changes to gameplay or changes in weapon balances. And as always the usual code fixes. For the moment, to spot any problems, it will be a TDM server.

The two epilepsy medications I take have their side effects. For one I can have significant mood swings. I could feel great. Or absolutely terrible. Others I want to punch someone out if I get real frustrated. But I know this and deal with it. Helps that in general I am a nice person. I suppose that is like when 'aunt flo' makes her monthy visit to women. Except for me its 24/7 every day of the year. No need to mark it on a calendar and its not going away. By their very nature these medications affect the brain so such things are watched for. Many people have it much worse than I do. Or are forced to take larger quantities of he meds. One of the side effects a few people could potentially have, which I dont, is suicidal tendencies. But it is rare. But that is enough for some people to say that I need to be watched by the govt. Not just my doctor. Not because I show signs of something. But simply because I take the meds. Some shooter is on a particular medication. Could be mine. Could be Ambien. Could be something else. Peoples reactions? Or the reactions of the shitheads on cable news? Treat every person on it as dangerous. While I am all for govt helping people with any issues that they may have I wont support a dumbass politician that wants to bring govt run institutions back. Or support the organizations that call for it. I truly belive for example that while the NRA, or others more hard core than they are, push hard for unlimited and unrestricted gun ownership they would have no problem locking me away if they could. You are right I just pulled that number out of a hat to make a point. Actually its currently more like 500 per month. Even so, still a staggering number. Not long ago it was 1000 per month. So while this event is getting national attention... for 1 death... since then another 10-15 were shot. We dont hear about them. In case you havent heard, there was a potentially infinately worse possibility that happened today. On par with a major terrorist attack .But he was shot to death before he could get inside the courthouse.
