Ok thx. Since its a nade to affect electronics the stun affect should only be for a short time. Currently its 2 seconds from start to finish, depending on distance. Think I will bump that up to 3 and see what happens.

You mean if a player jumps off a building or something like that? No that shouldnt happen. There should be a check that makes sure you are touching the ground. Like activating the RC. Maybe I missed something. Semtex should attach as well as the Crossbow bolts. I will check to be sure. I must say that so far the bounty system is doing exactly what it is supposed to. If you camp occasionally then all it might do is give some extra points to whoever gets you. Otherwise you are unaffected. But do it too much and you get marked. I know that sometimes you have to stay in one place to avoid being fired on. So Im stil working on the numbers. However by far most of the time its the real campers that are affected by this because if someone is shooting at you then your immediate reaction would be to get out of Dodge. And yes, hiding under something and looking straight ahead for someone to walk in front of your sights is camping. Staying in one small spot with a scar-h is camping. Get an M21. Even so, say you are on the second floor of a building with an MP5. Just move around now and then instead of being a potted plant and constantly looking out the same window. I will be adding exceptions such as standing while defrosting. Not sure how I will handle that yet. Also, if you are the last player your bounty will not go up. But you will retain whatever you already have. -
Nobody has said anything about the little stun addition to EMP. Maybe that means its not big enough for anyone to notice.

Going to be tweaking the numbers but bounties will help deal with excessive camping. I know some people wont like it but the numbers will be such that you will really have to stick in one area for a reasonable amount of time before it kicks in. Correct, protruding through walls is a game thing. Walls are usually aligned to the ^2 game grid based on game standards. 64/128/256 units etc. Guns will protrude from player collision boxes. So even when touching a wall some guns, like snipers, will show. Often the ones that take advantage of this are hackers. Remember that the sentryguns in MW2 had a glitch that allowed them to be placed in walls. Which is why in the mod they drop at the exact spot you are standing, like weapon drops, not in front of you. Wall spamming is part of the game. Armor... see my comparison to condoms. Best way to explain it. Invisible walls, gotta complain to the map makers about that. Unfortunately because people want high speed cars, and the ability to jump/climb, falling cannot be fixed. Usually hitting the ground under the map will kill you if its low enough. But again fall height on this server was made really large so there will be issues such as yours and glitchers firing under maps. Wells and such generally have trigger-hurt areas where if you touch it you are dead. However I will do some testing and see what I can do. I need to be able to fall under a map however so if anyone knows of a map where its easy to do this, and where, let me know. -
Too many nukes in mw2 ftag

In the couple games I spec'ed this afternoon I saw many packages but only saw one mininuke. It got 3 or 4 people. Saw a few Reapers. One or two carpet bomb strikes. One ac130. A couple artillery strikes. Lots of cars obviously. Dont know how many were from care packages. Things seem pretty balanced to me but I will go through the math again to make sure there isnt anything affecting randomness. I added a game log entry to add all care package awards and will keep an eye on it. Given the fact that pretty much only those with low awards reroll to get higher awards there is a greater chance if getting something in the 5-6 kill range or more. They give up some pretty good perks to get the opportunity. So the question is, to get a reroll would you give up stopping power? Or Stealth? Or fast reload? Also considering that kills whie having those streaks increase streaks but hardpoint weapons do not? -
Several posts about that. Changed in the updated mod. Not the current one.

6/24/2014: Bounty system uploaded and enabled. Played a few maps and no problems as far as I can tell. I will likely have to add exceptions to the rule for unusual situations. So if any pop up let me know what they are so I can see what to do about it. In case a camper is targeted, and his team wins the round, on the next round he will remain targeted until the bounty is collected. So the moral of the story is that minor camping is fine. Just dont be a douche and do it constantly.

There is only one randomizer for care pacakage awards. It is used for both the first award and reroll. -

Three Dukes from care packages? The odds getting that award are 1 in 50 for the care package. 1 in 40 for the strike package. -
You can shoot 'out' of the bubble but not into it, and out the other side. An oversight on my part and right now the best that can be done is to discourage people from standing inside of them by shocking them.
-
The non-solid bubble is in the mod update. But if this is a problem right now I will increase the time for the radiation if you are close. I know about the Reaper. I made a mistake when compiling the mod. Unfortunately during testing nobody bothered to try and shoot it down. Thinking about some way to compensate somehow. Armor, relative to explosives, is similar to the flak jacket in BO. So it does reduce explosives damage considerably. Except unlike the flak jacket once used it is gone. That was the trade off. You get the benefits of protection but only once. Think of it as a condom. As for semtex being stuck to me, I dont actually recall the last time that happened. But a couple of my classes have armor and because I suck I die a lot with few kills to show for it. Then I respawn again with the armor. If I get a 1:2 ratio its a good day. So gimme a break.

RC cars in this server more often that not just get one kill, Much of the time they get none at all if there are a lot of people to defrost obviously. Getting just 1 kill from a streak is pretty bad really. Especially since you only get three choices. Might as well save that one for something higher if you want multikills. Getting an RC means it is less likely someone will get both a mininuke and Duke. More likely they will choose an RC, airstrike/artillery/sentry, and just one of the high level streaks. Considering there is the jammer, armor, emp, low health (default 50 points) and its pretty loud there are plenty of counters to it. They are hard to get due to their speed but sentries target them as well. -

Mininukes in carepackages have a 3 in 100 chance. In any case this is why you only get 3 streaks instead of all of them. It is also why streaks do not count towards streaks. I have seen other mods that dont have these limitations and its pure mayhem. Think its bad here? Go play one of those and you will quickly change your mind. -
Due to some really bad campers lately going to try this. Reenable the bounty system. No disabling of weapons if you are caught doing it unlike the regular anti-camping system. So if you insist on camping you wont lose a weapon. But it will increase the price on your head. It doesnt go away until collected. If your camping gets so bad and the bounty is high enough you are targetted for termination with a moneybag waypoint over your head. Snipers are exempt as always but if you had the bounty before with an assault class for example, and switch to sniper, the bounty remains. But this would only happen if you suicide or do something silly like fall down a well and kill yourself because even tho you died the bounty wasnt collected by anybody. This is not meant to make the server into a total run-and-gun game nor affect occasional campers since it is part of the game. But to add an incentive for the really bad ones to not do it so much.

People dont have to read articles that dont tell them what they want to hear. But the words tranny and shemale are more often associated with pornos than anything else these days. So it is understandable. -

I changed the sentry thing for now because they are relatively difficult to get and its not really fair to just force them to drop in a bad area or facing in a bad direction. Since you cannot pick them up... which was done so people didnt move them around and camp... it seemed fair to allow them to keep it through death. No different than getting a heli. Lately I have seen more of them used probably because of this. And the enemy is paying more attention to them and blowing them up. So it all balances out. It looks like the empty bubble problem was mostly due to rage quiting and a timing problem when they do that. Added a couple extra checks to that and uploaded the script but all the bubbles turned to missing FX/model. So took the new script out until I get that sorted out. Might get a CI here and there until then.

Stripper in a can? I see a whole new market. Be sure to also wear a mask. Their fumes can be quite toxic. Especially when you get too close.
-
cod4 main server notes: 6/21/2014 uploaded a couple script fixes to deal with a couple CI's. Seemed to be people leaving the game at odd times and the game trying to do things when the player is no longer there. Maybe rage quiting? Maybe PB kicks? During heavy times there are people coming and going constantly so there might have been hiccups. Report of misplaced or empty bubbles. Only saw it once, which was empty, and might have been be related to people leaving at weird times also. Otherwise it should only be created after you respawn wherever you are.

If its about the nicotine I suppose the best thing to do is stick it in a pill that you can take in the mornings. No need to worry about patches or gum.

Map Skipped With Over 50% playing
Sammy replied to Red Baron's topic in Call of Duty 4's Call Of Duty 4 Discussion
Majority rules I suppose. But if a particular map causes more than 1/2 the server go to spec then for admins running the servers that is a bad thing. Having everyone play is more important than specific map. -
For testing added a short 'stun' effect to EMP. Its not a full stun grenade. That is left to flashbangs. Just a small addition to give a bit of disorientation and make them a little more useful. Try it out and let me know how it works.

When ready I will be doing that late at nights when I am online. That way I can also play it and keep an eye on things. Then when I go switch it back. But yea often things can only be done while kicking and screaming all the way.
