  1. This game is just more of the same. It might be a good game but so what? Why exactly buy it? Because other people buy into the system and get it? And if you want to play them you have to get the game also? This industry counts on it and for awhile now they have been winning. Money is certainly an issue and 'premium' makes it worse. Want to stay with the cool kids? Gotta pay up. Masses of people are generally stupid. Group think tends to get them to do things they wouldnt choose to do on their own. For me Adam Sandler movies suck balls for example. But I know others love them. What if a friend, that loves his movies, refuses to see anything else? Pony up the bucks and go also? Or say no thanks? Except when I say no thanks then I am the bad guy.
  2. I would like to see some in the test server, and shot, to make sure it all works. Its the only way to know for sure.
  3. It is changed on the mod update. Since model changes, such as the bubble and SAM, require mod recompiles not just script fixes they went into the update. So when that one goes into effect all is good. That one is up and running on a 24-player server so its there. However the old adage of 'if you build it he will come' doesnt apply to cod4.
  4. You can go get the Open Warfare framework at openwarfaremod.com for a good idea. In addition to the cod4 mod tools. The OW2 code isnt released publicly. Too many people rip stuff off and call it their own. Including a few things of mine. There are ways to get it anyways and I cannot prevent it but it means I offer zero support when they cant get something to work.

  6. Yea. Script error. There were quite a few that had to be taken care of today. Its what happens when I code stuff when I am tired. I forget things. All seems to be good now.
  7. Fixed. Small oversight on the script updates. Yup people love their noob tubes. Myself included. Which is why you only get two nades for the perk weapon.
  8. The new server? Or do you mean the chinalake is out on the main server?
  9. Correct it is not on the main server yet. In time it will be. As I have said before in the update no significant changes such as weapon balances or how things work. Changes include: Changed Chinalake for M32. Except for different model and faster animations its the same weapon. Gold M9 for the stock 45. Balanced to be a 45 as far as the game is concerned. It just looks better. Call it M9+ Added the War Machine perk. Added some new sounds. New player uniforms. Added the ability to tweak some more streaks but the defaults are unchanged. "Most Wanted". Using some more efficient methods for things like proximity checks. Non-solid ice bubbles. Fixed the SAM model. Added back some custom gametypes like CTF that didnt require adding more assets. Ability to add more custom spawnpoints to maps if needed. Really only needed for a couple custom gametypes (Battle Royale and Assault). And as always various bug fixes or making things more stable.
  10. I talked about the M32 for 2-3 months. Including posting a vid or two of test runs. I actually worked on one of my own long ago but never finished it. In time another modder was able to export it from BO2 with the animations and he was nice enough to provide them to me. Before saying anything people should try it. Both the Chinalake and M32 are balanced the same as a standard rifle launched nade. Same range. Same damage. All of it. Since it is a dual purpose weapon it allows me to use it for two things without increasing the xmodel count. Asset limitations are hugely important and this mod pushes it. So I try to find ways to enhance it without increasing the asset count. Cant do anything about the scroll wheel of course. Not going to do a thing with explosives. Changing to 1X was a MW2/3 choice and it was a poor one. Run and Gunners didnt like having to be careful where they ran through and whined. It cramped their style. Their solution did nothing but help one style of gameplay at the expense of another. A solution that was not needed and it was more than a simple tweak. It changed gameplay significantly and they openly said their goal was to make it a r&g game. Same reason all of their maps are small and not very open.
  11. I had the test mod at ftag. But didnt get enough people so made it tdm to keep the pace up. Otherwise its boring. See other thread about Chinalake. Cave spawns should already be fixed. The Cave spawns were not random but poorly placed. Most of them were on the same side of the map. edit: Did you actually try the M32? Personally I think its very cool.
  12. In the end the Chinalake and M32 operate the same. Just different models. Except that the M32 animations are faster and dont require a reload sequence for two nades.
  13. Info: Uploaded a few script fixes. Played a couple maps and didnt notice any CI's. The two main culprits where RC related and SAMs trying to shoot down a Reaper. Defrosting while going to sudden death should be fixed. A couple other minor ones related to players suddenly disconnecting that didnt look to be server killers. Any issues plz let me know. Thx.
  14. On next server restart of the main MW2 server going to try some start spawn changes on two maps. See how they work. Offices v2: both sides now have their spawn points outside the building on different sides. Before allies were outside and axis were inside. Invade: Axis spawns are totally unbalanced and the only way players can go is down the long street. Allies have multiple exits. So about 1/2 of the axis spawns have been distributed further up the street and not all bunched up at the end.
  15. Except they are also being hurt by the growing indie business. The games are not nearly as flashy or full of gimicks but can still be really fun. And they are much cheaper. Not to mention the continuing Steam sales. Why buy BF4 when not to long ago you could get BF3 for free? Or get the premium version for 30 bucks? Is it no wonder that the regular price of cod4 these days is still 20 bucks?
  16. 69 bucks? When did prices go up from 59? Mod support is important however. Not because of the money. But because it allows us to enhance a game in the ways we like. Not in the ways they want. It is not possible for a game to be all things to all people unless it can be modded by others.
  17. The nade sentry has a very long range and is very good at spotting targets. Exellent for open fields or holding down areas of transit. Which is why the kill requirement is high. edit: Next server restart players should be able to keep their secured sentries through death and respawn.
  18. In the updated mod picking up nades has been enabled. 1 tactical and 1 primary up to whatever your current loadout allows. No smoke or gas. edit: So get a group together and play it. See all the goodness in it.
  19. Only thing that comes to mind is to make sure the tb is set to the default record device. However I am sure the wireless stuff has its own settings.
  20. Should be all up and running on the test server. Make a kill of anyone on that list and get an extra 10 points.
  21. Then this will benefit you. Anybody can be on the list, max of 10. This is just an example list until an official one is made up. Up to all of you admins who should be there. Its not meant to be something to change player behavior. Just a little bonus like Avenger. But more targetted and everyone will know about it. Of course there should be a good reason for it. Maybe an excessive number of knife or nade kills on the server. An RC whore. Or someone that just likes being a pain in the ass. Something that would make the player a special target to go after compared to all the others. Maybe the simple thing to do is pick one admin to handle who needs the extra 'attention'.
  22. Knifed. Shot. The 10 most wanted list, however that is made up, would be added that will give some bonus points. Its almost ready to go on the test server. Since there is no official list made up yet these are the current 10 most wanted and myself. Find them and kill them to get extra points.   24. Since the chat window is going pretty quick at the moment I will post here. Yes I should have done it here in the first place. So. Of all the various ftag servers, cod4 and 5, which one best represents what the hud and world graphic items should be like? What should be there? What shouldnt be? I am going through the various settings to see which is best.
  25. Exactly. Before it forced you to center. You can still center it. There is just more wiggle room. I imagine what you did before was hold the defrost button down first and move your aim until you got it. Then you didnt move it. Since the only way for that to work was a direct beam on the body there is nothing shrinking. But if you stop your aiming on the edge of ice then it wont be centered. It will be offset. Its no different than players and hit boxes. If a player cant hit something is it because the hitbox isnt significantly bigger than the player? Or is it because a players aim sucks? Like mine does. What is the solution? To make the hitbox even bigger? Or learn to aim better and shoot the target in the torso? Certainly the usual answer is that they want a character the size of a Hobbit to have the hitbox the size of The Hulk.
