Here should be a good one that I am sure some will create 'proof' for. Seems as of today China no longer has restrictions on how many children a family can have. The theory? China has hidden from the world that Covid has actually killed 100 million Chinese people and they need to repopulate.

On a web site that is well known to be full of vids promoting conspiracy theories, wouldnt it be prudent to error on the side of things there being bullshit without some kind of proof by others much more reliable? Nah. After all, if it wasnt true it wouldnt be on their website. I am sure that there are people that think the movie 'They Live' is actually a documentary and that we are all screwed. "They influence our decisions without us knowing it. They numb our senses without us feeling it. They control our lives without us realizing it. They Live."

True, smoke and mirrors. The problem is when certain people still believe it even after both are no longer there. The smoke is blown away and the mirror shattered. But they would rather still be fooled than see what they were hiding.

This was not only on the internet... but an actual publication. Therefore, it must be true. After all, its the worlds only reliable newspaper. They said so and that also must be true. Actually this first appeared in one of those old email chains before the Internet became mainstream. Remember those? Got em all the time and good for a laugh. But still a huge number of people believed it no matter how many times it was disproved to be a hoax. However, these days, its easy to make such things that include fake 'proof' (many sites do it for you) and doesnt help when distributed by sites that never check whether something is bullshit, including big name sites with huge audiences, and even then will do nothing when it is shown to be that. And then you get complaints by well known people believing such things getting on the air and complaining about censorship and vast conspiracies when taken down. To the point that some in power try to change laws because of 'it'. Whatever 'it' is, pick one. Its stuff like this that destroyed any faith I had in the intelligence of this country.

Like VHS/Betamax, there were also the BD / HD-DVD wars that of course had an ultimate winner. But in this case BD was the better of the two from a technical and capabilities standpoint. However HD-DVD also lacked things like region locks and better DRM. Which various media and software companies didnt like. Funny since most BD's dont do region locks anymore. Microsoft of course went the HD-DVD route, for a couple years, so it didnt support or pay anything to their arch rival Sony.

A website that is less than a month old and when checking out the relevant public information related to the domain everything about it and who runs it is hidden. Not even a website admin email to send something to. Tells us all we need to know.

In the end, the usual partisan bullshit from people... the same thing over and over back and forth... will be lost in the ether never to be seen or heard from again. On the other hand, this is history. Also shows that reality is far removed from what people see on cable, the big screen or the wilds of the internet. Apparently, our own intelligence agencies aren't sure one way or the other yet. So why should we instead listen to what the pundits on news media... on all sides... have to say? Or do they have reliable info, and the means to get it, that nobody else does?

Your point? That they are the only ones that consider themselves as such? The flip side of the same coin... meaning the far far right instead of the far far left... also consider themselves superior to everyone else in every way you can think of. Smarter than anyone else. Morally pure. The only protectors of society. Yadda yadda yadda. When people wrapped in their own superiority... far far right or far far left... get into power the rest of us are in trouble. Especially since both sides are masters at propaganda and too many people buy into it.

As often happens, you choose to assume too much about other people's opinions. Which is why true independents have simply given up on political partisanship. Anyone that doesn't agree with them is either a commie liberal or a fascist conservative. Pick your poison. My eyes get tired of constantly rolling over what they say.

Unfortunately it seems in politics that debate has become synonymous with 'attack'. Nothing new of course and its been that way forever. However nowadays its exponentially worse where even among family it happens constantly and will cause rifts. We can blame cable talking-heads... and their so-called 'news' shows... and the internet full of nothing but heated arguments and flamers that often devolve into personal attacks.

I saw a couple of the old Star Trek ToS XXX parodies. Probably made in the 90's or 00's. No-budget sets and SFX but they were actually pretty funny. The one or two TNG ones I saw were ok but werent really all that interesting. However iirc in those Troi really got around so that made up for it a bit.

If nothing else, even if its not your cup of tea (I am personally bored to death of FPS games) you have to appreciate the extreme amount of work that is going into this.

Im sure they do. Then again, so do capitalist ideals and greed. And many people believe exactly that. Greed will save America... or insert your nation of choice. Of course it comes down to greed by whom. Capitalist greed is good but socialist greed is bad. Or vice versa depending on what side you are on.

Seems those microchips function as tiny versions of basic apple smart watches so whether inside in your hand, or wrapped around your wrist, you're talking about a difference of a layer of skin. Doesnt mean I would do it... I will never get a smart watch either... but really this is just the next step for a society already tied way too much to technology 24/7. The people today would be totally lost if they no longer had their smart phone.

Question is, how much searching was done before deciding on that link and not a different one? Perhaps that link was the best choice out of 10 and not sure I want to know what the other 9 were.

Having more than two will go even farther than that.

I am sure they have all gotten pretty good at multitasking so they can do both at the same time. How is that for a revolting thought.
