The Real Reasons People Fall for Conspiracy Theories
Sammy replied to KaptCrunch's topic in General Discussion
They put trust in people that are neither trustworthy nor truthful about anything. -
looking for recommendations for an inexpensive tablet
Sammy replied to Blackbart's topic in Computer Help
You DO know that Samsung monitors everything you say and watch, right? -
Cant use it anyway right now. My computer specs arent quite good enough. And I dont yet quite have the need for a new system just yet.

As the old saying goes, be careful what you wish for. You may get it.

Truer words have never been spoken my man.

Probably a keyword temp ban like games do by a bot. They are a little overzealous though. But if you want to send me nudes, I wont object.

mw2 147w map rotation #1a
Sammy replied to WldPenguin's topic in Call of Duty 4's Call of Duty 4 Map Rotations
Seems to be a bit of a weird map. The skybox in this case doesnt have any actual physical surface to it, even a default one. Very unusual. So some automatic map dimension checks that many things depend on are failing. -
Does a 1998 Camry count as 'classic'?

Info: The EMP radius on the new mod is much bigger than the old one. However, it is also distance based. How much it defrosts depends on how close it lands. Like flashbangs and how much it affects you depending on distance when it goes off. The old one, its all or nothing. Even if the difference between you and another player is just one unit, he might get fully defrosted and you get nothing. The newer way made it consistent with all other grenades and explosives. Up to you to decide which is better. Just information to understand why everyone is seeing a difference. edit: Forgot to add, at max distance it will defrost a minimum %50 of a fully frozen player. So linear 50-100%. Lower than 50 ended up being too weak in testing. All explosives work the same way with guaranteed minimum damage if within range, not including modifiers and obstructions (cars, walls, flakjacket). The minimum for frags is 75 points, or %25 of max damage.

We have removed Kyniek[PL] from our servers
Sammy replied to Ruggerxi's topic in Call of Duty 4's Call Of Duty 4 Discussion
And you know this how exactly? Enquiring minds want to know. Well, actually maybe they dont. -
The SAW is there, with vanilla settings, using the Mk46 model. Nades are entirely engine controlled and I couldnt make them go through two walls even if I tried. So I have no idea the effect you are seeing. Unless the walls were made of paper by the mapper I suppose. As for who gets to vote for something like this and which mod goes on which server, I cannot comment on that. I have no say in it. Well, as a clan member I would... since that is the criteria... but I wont. Other than saying giving everybody the opportunity to choose between two servers is a fair thing to do and let the chips fall where they may. Both mods however were made for all players equally. Whether you were here for 3 years or 30 days. So long as that distinction is understood.

Of course now it's the extras that I have to get. The couple luggage bags I had look to have been lost. My digital camera, if it still works, is old enough to be a teenager. My iphone is a 5c with a well used battery. Probably need new shorts since I am not as thin as in my younger days. Not that I was ever thin. Either that or 3 months of serious dieting. And more stuff after that. Should probably get new distance glasses since what I have are maybe 3 years old. The list goes on.

This last version all except a couple specialty guns (specials etc) had vanilla cod4 settings. They way they were *intended* to be, if you like. Any complaints about them, I can give you the address of Infinity Ward. There shouldnt be anything more to say about that. It seems you *dont* want the vanilla settings. Which is perfectly fine. Its like I said, choices. However in this case that wasnt your choice to make. After all this time you still dont understand, or refuse to accept, that this was the grand bargain. I spend a lot of my personal time, over years, modding exclusively for the clan with the understanding that basic balances are my decision. For most people this was fine and a good trade. However some wanted it all. They wanted my time AND they wanted to be the boss calling all the shots. A bargain I never should have made but its all in the past now.

Well, the acr has been talked about ad nauseam. Surprised to even see the name of it still after all this time. Perhaps some have forgotten, or never listened in the first place. First it was heavily unbalanced and it was a zero-skill noob gun. But of course there will always be people that like and will only use zero-skill noob guns. Also, it had a bad weapon model responsible for constant server crashes. The acr noobs didnt care about crashes so long as they had it. Well, except blaming others for crashes when it was their fault for continuing to use it when asked not to. Pretty lame really. But it is what it is. So, then came the clan mod. The bad weapon model was gone. Things were properly balanced. In this case the m16 was restored to fill the gap for a 3-shot weapon. But some cried about having to rely on weapons that required skill. Tried to reason with people, wasted my time, and it didnt work. Instead, my goal should have been to just distribute the packages and everyone can go do what they want. If you want your noob gun with an m16 model go ahead. Just figure it out it yourself and any complaints about it were yours to deal with. Up to you to convince people how they were all wrong. And that is how it is now. Do what you want to the gun settings. Also up to you to explain how and why the different settings you want for yourself are fair to everybody else. edit: Anyways, I apologize to everyone about how this thread got hijacked and will move on.

Of course. Which is also what is happening. Happens to every game and this is not a difficult concept. Players are leaving CoD4 in general. As you said, not because they may not like a particular thing but because newer games often do it better. For one they can work on the basic source code. Modders can only work with what we've got and improvise. So as for 'better at it', well, there is of course much truth to that. Except that in modding everything can be changed to suit our own tastes. And in this case, up to Rugger (and nobody else) to change things to suit the server. You might like a change. You might not like a change. But the fact of the matter is, it CAN be changed and people can argue about it and change it again. Oh, and yes I always asked for and welcomed input. But in the end the final decision as the developer was me and nobody else. Sometimes a choice, after a good deal of gameplay, did not work out as well as I would have liked. You are correct nobody asked for a new version. As I posted earlier, my mistake... which I wont ever again... was making this a clan mod (post 145). Instead I should have just made it up, added as many server config options as workable, and provided the server packages to anybody that wanted it. Download it and adjust things to your liking. When its done, almost is, the next 147 server package will be made available to anybody that wants it. Sans freezetag. If interested and you want it, let me know.

Just a little post for those that complain that I added too much "shit" to the mod. Thought about this but decided against it. For fairness it would require a friendly UAV to transmit package locations that it couldnt see. Now in actual fact, this was just something I hacked together for fun to see if the scripts for the SAM could actually do it. As you can see it worked quite well but not without a couple minor problems. Nothing insurmountable however. With some more work it would be able to fire at sentries, snipers on top of buildings, even other SAMs. Would be funny to see two SAMs attack each other if the circumstances were exactly right. Oh and any player trying to get the package would be killed along with it. But get out the popcorn and imagine the screaming.

Unfortunately no titty bars in disneyworld. Cant have it all I guess.

Its more expensive but on other trips like that I stayed close because its much more convenient for me and the more areas I can cut out the stress factor the better it is. And with epilepsy driving is pretty much a no-go. A rental car place likely wouldnt give me one anyway because of it. If it wasnt for covid I would have maybe tried to plan out a trip to Kyoto. But things are not good in Japan right now and pretty much only essential travel is allowed in. Maybe in the future.

Lets see. The results of this poll almost mirror those of the last election. %57 to %43 among electoral votes. So, in effect all of you in the %57, which isnt a popular vote only electors in the clan, are Biden. Sleep tight. Edit: Oh and just for disclosure in case anyone is curious, no I didnt vote in this poll. Too much obvious bias.

Somewhat of a sticker shock but off I go to WDW in mid October. Just after the 50th anniversary stuff begins and also more things open up post-covid. Also various Halloween things. Been three years since my last extended vacation, partly because of covid of course. Cost wasnt too bad considering its Disney, and there is always the air fare, but actually a bit less than when I was there in 2006 and with a better room and an extra day. They are not fully out of covid yet so there are modest deals to be had. And of course now there is Star Wars and Pandora among other things. No Marvel though, and no 12-midnight magic hours, which is a bummer. But 9pm, at least for MK, is good. Might check out Celebration to see what its like.

Then I suppose that would be an interesting point. It is not related to IP or sever name but what is most populated... and by extension popular. So if you do have two servers, with two versions, whichever is most populated is the most popular. And that is decided by individual players not a poll. Sounds fair enough.

Change to something new... which goes for every franchise... and the inevitable result is always the same. Some will leave, some will continue, and new ones will join. No idea if anyone actually has a definitive answer to that with a lot of non-subjective data to back it up. Simply personal experience, or the opinions of people you know, isnt enough to judge. In any case, another question I suppose is whether or not there is such a thing as a 'main' server. It seems to suggest that players will go there regardless of whats on it because it has the IP. Perhaps, to remove OW2 from the question entirely... no argument about old vs new... ditch it and set up another G13. Will traffic remain the same because it is the 'main'? Or will they go elsewhere? Will the G13 crowd move because its the 'main' server? Dont know myself, but does this 'main' server thing go for all servers? Including all games? Or is it one server among equals? My guess, go ask regulars there and they will say 'main' is bullshit. There is their own personal 'main' and that is it.

Ceiling fans can be reversed. In this case what does that mean?
