  2. Yes some mods can alter their positions at runtime but it does not change the actual map. New positions are kept stored in the server and when the map loads the locations are read back and the spawns moved. Requires it to be done for each map.
  3. The one that made the black santa thing in the first place would have gone unnoticed unless she brought it up. So you pick out an obscure comment few people even know about, raise people into a frenzy, and then blame others when you get called on it. A cartoon last night I saw while flipping channels had not one but two black santas. A show children watch depending on whether or not parents let their kids watch Fox cartoons. Something on the other hand that millions of people saw. Where is the outrage?

  6. After looking at the vids, yea the ACR with iron sights at that kind of range didnt hit much because most of the time it wasnt on target. Especially when rocking with it full auto. Already posted a few times that the ACR had a little sway added because it was way too accurate. If people remember before the game kept crashing. At the time I narrowed it down to a bad ACR model and kept asking people to not use it until I could get it fixed. Many refused to listen because they liked the overpowered gun. So the crashes continued. A statement of fact is that every single bullet gun in the game fires exactly the same. From snipers to pistols. The differences are in ADS zoom, sway, min/max damage, damage falloff, centering speed after each shot, armor piercing and things like that. The game itself doesnt know the difference between a pistol bullet or a .50 round. when deciding hits. All weapons will shoot to the maximum the game will accept but it doesnt mean you will hit anything.
  7. 1) which weapon couldnt you hit with? Which map? Just that one or others? I can hit people just fine. Especially the snipers without the sway. Too easy maybe. So I am at a loss. 2) There are settings for both. Maybe they are shut off. When you say 'hit someone' I assume you mean standing next to a friendly.
  8. Sometimes playing around with a nice rack can cost a fair amount of money. Or at least dinner.
  9. You mean the random ambient attack stuff? I spent alot of time coding those. You can think of them as the generals enjoying their wine in the rear sending you 'help'. But often that help cant tell friend from foe. Even so they are only 1/2 as powerful as player versions. More bark than bite. But I know they are not for everybody so a shut off switch is included. Maybe change them to actual team weapons and not random. If its green its yours. If its red its theirs. One thing standard cod4 always lacked was chaos on the battlefield. It was too predictable.

  12. Yes there were a couple posts about this and I have been looking into it. So far I have not been able to reproduce the error but I suspect it is related to the CI since that one happens at the end of the round. The CI itself is due to a player having too many hud elements for some reason. Those elements include things like head icons for betties, snow flake icons, and overlays like the blue/red you see when frozen. I think I found the cause, and the fix is on the testing server, but we wont know for sure until tested on the main server. I appreciate everyones patience while these things are sorted out.
  13. Do you mean the 'whoosh'? That can be turned off if everyone prefers. Also its not just a nice hud thing but you get extra bonus points.
  14. Are you saying you dont want the death machine? And that you still want the 4-kill care package tac nuke?

  16. 0? Thats a bizarre one. I will test. edit: For the perk... nothing is perfect. There should be at least a small chance of defeating a jammer. However if this was a pro RC, from the attack package, they are immune to jamming.

  18. Then again to get hardline with the -1 and reroll you are giving up other valuable perk2 options. So its a trade off. You can choose a helper in getting streaks. Or you can get immunity to betties, helicopters, sentryguns, and no target markers. Or more power to get kills with one shot for lower powered weapons, especially those with silencers. Its up to you which you think is more valuable. Do you want enhanced combat abilities or a little easier time to get a streak? There are plenty of counters to all streak weapons. If you are concerned about more helicopters, ac130s and artillery get a SAM at 4-kills. Or 3 with hardline. Assuming a clear line of sight they are pretty much a guaranteed kill every time. And lets not forget you can steal cp's. You see the green smoke. You know its coming. Wait for someone to try and take it then shoot his ass. And if you have hacker you can leave the enemy a decoy for their troubles. If you look at all these counters streaks are not nearly as deadly as you think... if the team chooses to do it.
  19. Sounds fx not changed except the ACR fire is a little less loud. I will be checking out the mininuke. As posted before maybe some settings need to be tweaked. edit: Just a description how the mininuke works: The blast itself uses the same functions as the usual airstrike. If you are 'indoors', which is measured by whether or not something is over your head, then a modifier in effect cuts the normal range to %25. Cluster bomb strikes are the same. The old saying, if it aint broke dont fix it. Radiation works differently. Structures will not block it nor reduce its effects. Range is 1.5X blast radius. Damage works by using distance to set a timer. You are affected by X number of seconds with health slowly being taken from you. The closer you are the longer the timer. Hardwired will reduce time by %50. This is the way it works both on the older mod and this mod. The difference could be whether or not the max radius was increased from the default settings before. Also max damage. This is likely but I do not know.
  20. For ftag it allows defrost at double the rate. But looking into other possibilities to add that might make it more useful. Suggestions are welcome. Reroll was moved to Hardline since its a killstreak related function. S&G is meant for objectives. The mininuke is the same as the last one but maybe the server config values need tweaking. Perhaps for others as well.
  21. In the mod folder there should be 5 files. mod.ff img.iwd snd.iwd wpn.iwd ow.iwd Delete any other iwds with different names. I had to rename them to solve some problems.
  22. OK this is for everyone. Should have posted it sorry....... Delete the older iwds with the long names. Only include the four new ones with short 3-letter names. The reason for the shorter names is to help deal with some of the filesum errors some maps get on round changes. The problem is partially related to the total number of characters in the various stock/mod/map ff and iwd filenames combined. On round changes all those filenames get read again and count double. When there are too many, I think 1024 or something, it will crash.

  24. One year is too harsh. Students probably get less time if they get caught with a joint.
