  2. Yea I know about the laptop being heard by other players also. Still havent figured that one out yet. It shouldnt do that. Heli's should follow spawn protection. I will check it out. When you lost the weapon did you try switching it? No idea why throwing a nade should do that.
  3. There was a sentry bug related to that. But the sentry nade might still be doing it. I will have to check this evening and if so upload a fix that will be there when the server is next restarted. But dinner first. As for losing weapon, do you mean a streak weapon? Or a rifle?

  7. Ok some techie info: For the Betty range is 256. Yes 256 is a standard range for many explosives. Max damage at center 210 points. Min damage at 256 units 70 points. So compared to an RC the max/min damage is spread out more. Like claymores it has less explosive punch than a C4 charge but has frag damage, so to speak. The initial radius damage checks performed by the engine are a sphere around the center. It sends player damage to everyone in range. The amount of damage will depend on how much the explosive 'sees' the player based on obstructions, keeping in mind that not everything is solid. Same checks used by grenades. After that the various exceptions and/or modifications can be done. If a friendly ignore the damage sent, unless ff is on. If the attacker has the sonic boom perk increase the damage. Stuff like that. When the Betty is tripped it pops up to a height of 64 units. When it explodes it goes through height checks relative to the center of the enemy based on his current stance. If standing the center is 32 units high. Crouched is 24. Prone is 10. In addition to the 256 range the stance center of the enemy must be within 46 units above or 46 units below. Assuming level terrain the stance center must be at least 24 units high to receive damage. Those standing receive damage. Those prone do not. Since crouched, at 24, is right in the middle it will depend on the terrain if its not flat or whether or not the enemy is standing on anything. Or if he is jumping.
  8. God mode? Not at all. Yes a shot or two of protection and thats it. All this bruhaha about armor is overplayed considering its actually one of the weaker perks in that slot compared to others like stopping power and stealth. If armor regenerated... like health... I could see the problem. But it doesnt otherwise there would be no point for it to begin with. Defrost armor is a reward for team play. Defrost team mates and you get some. Run around or camp strictly to get kills and you get nothing. edit: The RC has the same explosive punch as a pack of C4. 256 unit radius from the center. 400 damage points at the center. 25 at 255 units. Final damage a linear amount between the two depending on distance. So at 128 its 200 damage. At 192 its 100 points.

  10. Pretty sure the timing is the same. Yes 50 is the max you can get from defrosts. Since the armor defrost is new it will take time to see what values should be set for it. If its too little then there isnt much point to it. But neither should it be too high. Unless I am mistaken armor is now 10 points per defrost. So if someone defrosts 5 teammates, for 50, he should get some benefit for his team play. Considering a typical round is 35-40 points of damage not including location modifiers, or 70 for sniper rifles, 50 points of armor isnt that much. Also considering the armor doesnt regenerate. But as said before it makes stopping power a much more useful perk to have. Also means you are not going to kill another player by shooting him once in the arm or the foot. Which is the stupidest part about hardcore. IMHO hardcore is only there for games with players that dont want to bother with getting torso or head shots. As for hit locations, for those that dont know, in the game engine if you shoot an enemy at his side a shot at the torso area will often hit the arm. Which is logical. Something to keep in mind when shooting enemies moving at right or left angles relative to your position.

  12. On the other hand I am sure those that have armor love it. One of the problems with hardcore is that players can be killed with pea shooters. Increasing health for everybody isnt an answer. But giving the option for armor to those that want it... at the expense of some other useful perks... is better. Besides, it now makes stopping power or explosive damage valid perks to have. Otherwise there is no point in even including them in the game.
  13. Just want to give a heads up that yes it does look like the RC jammer checks do not account for frozen players. Will upload a fixed RC script soon as I can. I appreciate letting me know about unusual circumstances like that so I can fix them.

  17. Well lets see.... Betty quick-prone to avoid damage is a standard ability. Both in the mod and stock cod games with it. On the other hand Betties have a 360 degree blast not the cone of a claymore. Nothing changed about the RPD from stock. Grip and perk 1... I dont understand. It has alway been this way since 2007. Hit boxes have been hard coded into the game engine for a long time. This is because of people hacking it. Bunny hopping is annoying but a standard part of the game. Besides with practice they are not too difficult to shoot. After all they cant dodge while in the air. Freezetag is a TDM style game not Sabotage.
  18. Coming soon. Still lots of stuff to work out and fx are not right. But the functionality is there. I would like the lasers to have sounds as they whiz by like for bullets but havent figured that part out yet. On the test its defrosting enemies. Any thoughts let me know.
  19. I know about the sentrynade bug. SAM is the same. Fixes coming. Had no time this weekend to work on much. Yes points-based streaks have been discussed a little but doing such a thing would have to be all or nothing to be workable. Cant do it for just the car but airstrikes and all of that. But then it also becomes a mess to work out because there are so many ways to get points.
  20. Adblock and noscript are two of the first browers related things I install. And no Java. If something needs Java then I dont need it either.
  21. Interesting. How are they going to handle this in the long run then? I assume all copies will have to be pulled from the shelves. Otherwise if purchasers cant install PB the game is unplayable.
  22. Just to add about the older ACR, which I have said several times. It was balanced as an M16 replacement. Meaning little to no sway. Hyper accurate. And most important as a 3-burst weapon. Which is why it got the nickname as a 'laser beam'. Change that to full auto with no others and it by definition becomes unbalanced. Two options. Keep it as a 3 shot. Or add some sway. Pick one.
  23. Real sniper servers require a special breed of player. You may not get a kill for 10 minutes in a match that lasts for 60. Maybe none at all. Most players, especially casual, dont have the patience for that.
  24. I hear that alot about unbalanced guns that no longer are.
