Official servers where the experience is set, map rotation's default size for the game mode is locked and can't be tweaked by vars.maxPlayers command. Enable packet loss logging in the dedicated server runtime logs "Netcode" fix to reduce network traffic Vars.vehicleSpawnDelay command will be executed at the end of the round or if the round is restarted. Adding validateVars to vars.unlockMode to return a nice "ReadOnlyOnRanked" message if the server is "official / ranked". Improved error handling on reporting statistical data. Fixed an issue where "skill" was calculated for commanders when quitting. Fix for issue of players becoming invisible after being killed on a ladder and revived "Netcode" fix to reduce network traffic "Netcode" fix to reduce network traffic "Netcode" fix to reduce network traffic "Netcode" fix to reduce network traffic hmmm Edit: No fucking wonder I couldnt figure out the damn vehicle spawns: Vars.vehicleSpawnDelay command will be executed at the end of the round or if the round is restarted.

Jan 30 PC Game Update Notes Mantle Support The new Mantle renderer has been added in Battlefield 4. Most players can expect a performance increase by using this new low-level graphics API. Check out this news post [battlelog.battlefield.com] for the full details on Mantle, what the requirements are to run it, and how to enable it. CPU/GPU performance and monitoring -Tweaked and improved CPU multi-core utilization to try and avoid stuttering and low framerate due to stalls that happened on some CPU and OS configurations. -Users can now configure and control themselves how many CPU cores should be used in the game with the new “Thread.MaxProcessorCount” settings in User.cfg. -“Render.DrawScreenInfo 1” now also shows information about which CPU and GPU is in the system, how many GPUs & CPU cores are used and which renderer (DirectX 11 or Mantle) is active -Added new “PerfOverlay.FrameFileLogEnable” command that records frame times on CPU & GPU and logs out to a .csv file -AMD Catalyst driver 13.12 (or later) is now recommended instead of 13.9 -Enabled tile-based compute shader lighting optimization on Nvidia for improved GPU performance (already active on AMD GPUs) -Improved performance with rendering and spotlights for all GPUs, primarily in in-door environments DMR Balance Tweaks -Increased the damage of all DMRs across all ranges. Specifically, damage has been increased at long ranges to allow three-hit kills against unarmored opponents. Additionally, reduced the penalty to accuracy for sustained DMR fire, allowing more rapid follow up shots in combat. The amount of the damage increase varies from weapon to weapon, according to its intended range, rate of fire, and damage. We will continue to monitor the effectiveness of DMRs in combat, and determine if additional action is needed to make DMRs a viable mid to long range weapon. Other Items -Greatly reduced the risk of crosshairs disappearing, which would also result in hit markers disappearing -Added a headshot icon on the killcard. This should help identify instances where players are correctly killed by one shot -Fixed an issue in Squad Deathmatch where the “Win/Lose” text was overlapping -Fixed an issue with players using an exploit for the SOFLAM -Fixed an issue with players using an exploit for the MAV -Fixed the gameplay code to properly track the FOV (Field of View) changes in the options menu -Fixed an issue where chat would break when entering "false" or "true" in the chat window -Fixed an out-of-helicopter glitch in Air Superiority where players could spawn on the ground and play as infantry -Fixed the misaligned crosshairs on the T90 MBT -Added setting to tweak joystick dead zone -Various minor crash fixes

http://blogs.battlefield.com/2014/01/balancing-bf4-weapons/ PCOMING BF4 WEAPON TWEAKSDMRs 1) Increased the damage of all DMRs across all ranges. Pump Action Shotguns 1) Increased the accuracy of pump action shotguns (870 MCS, HAWK 12g, SPAS-12, and UTS 15) while on the move and aiming. The accuracy has been approximately doubled. These weapons did not have any available barrels or grips that would allow a player to enhance their aimed accuracy. This change should make the use of pump action weapons with slugs much more viable at medium and close range by allowing more accurate fire. Carbines 1) Reduced the long range damage of the MTAR to bring it in line with the rest of the Carbines. General 1) Adjusted the way inaccuracy is handled when transitioning from Hip fire to Aimed fire. Previously, if a player began firing before aiming, he would keep his hip inaccuracy while aimed, until he stopped firing. This was especially obvious with LMGs on the move. Players will now only be subject to the maximum aimed inaccuracy after the transition. While still terribly inaccurate, this allows for substantially more accurate fire than the old method and should allow players with LMGs to panic fire in close quarters, provided they are aiming. 2) The Heavy Barrel’s Accuracy bonus now also applies on the move, at a reduced bonus. This should give the Heavy Barrel a wider role for players who desire accuracy while aimed in all situations. 3) Synchronized the timing of the aim down the sights animation of sniper rifles with their ability to fire with full accuracy. Players no longer need to wait for additional time after the aiming animation plays to get accurate shots. There is still a delay to achieve full accuracy, so Quick Scoping is still not possible.

GTX770, 4gb tips or reccomendations
OddJob001 replied to The Flush's topic in Battlefield 4's Battlefield 4 Discussion
Ooooh me me! I just picked up my EVGA 770 4GB last weekend. Had MAJOR issues with it, so let me help you save some time. 1. When installing, DO NOT USE THE DVI CABLE. Only use the HDMI. This sounds crazy, but after 20+ hours of trying to get my computer to work. This was the issue. I found some guy on a forum, about 3 hours after looking everywhere, that said both he and his friend had the same issue. Nothing would work while using the DVI cable, until AFTER all is installed and recent drivers updated. I didn't believe this, but as soon as I disconnected the DVI cable, everything worked. Apparently, DVI initiates a different driver, and that driver is not happy with Windows, until you get the latest drivers from Nvidia. (installing the drivers first, and then trying, didnt work either.) This was after 8-12 OS format and reinstalls. Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 - USB, CD, DVD, Local ISO, none of it worked. 2. Do not attempt to use any other slot than PCI1. I wanted to use PCI2, because it is further from my processor, but it never worked. I beleive they are different speeds. 3. The thing is a monster. You think your current video card is big? This thing is a foot in length. If you dont have a full tower, expect to have to move some drive bays out of the way. Realisticall, if I were you, this is what I would do. When you get the card, take out the old one, plug in the new one, and use HDMI. Try to boot. You might get lucky and everything will work fine. Once you do that, run the newest nvidia driver install. Do not worry about first removing all the drivers, and dont try to remove them with cccleaner of the likes. Use the nvidia option to do a fresh install. 3-4 years ago nvidia got rid of having to do safemode uninstalls and driver wipes. If it doesnt work for you right away, consider trying to boot into safe mode (have fun with that if you are on windows 8...). Then attempt to reinstall drivers there. If that fails, Im going to just say right away, do a full reinstall of the OS. Wipe that sucker clean and start over. Hopefully you have better luck than I did, as it took 5 days, over 20 hours, to get the thing working. To find out it was all broke because of a damn DVI driver. good luck, and enjoy, its a world of difference. There are graphic effects I didnt even know existed in the game. Last night I started downloading all my mods for Skyrim again. Cant wait to see how it looks with that massive 4GB memory for HUGE uncompressed textures. -

Did you like the addition of Obliteration?
OddJob001 replied to OddJob001's topic in Battlefield 4's Battlefield 4 Discussion
Thanks. I am sure we will have some questions for the EU guys on game modes, if we keep adding them. On that, it looks like people are liking the new game mode mixture (14 CQ maps and 4 OB maps in rotation, when above 32 players.) We got some new people coming to the server, so thats good. Thanks! -
LOL.

OddJob001 replied to OddJob001's topic in Battlefield 4's Battlefield 4 Discussion
So. I think we can call it official for now, and leave the OB maps in there. Looking at the chat logs over the last 24 hours, players are really liking the new game modes, and we have had some of the highest queues of people waiting, ever. When OL OB was runing we h ad 11 people in queue. This brought in some new players. Of course there are a few people that didnt like it. However, once they found out that its all based on voting of the masses, they were ok with it. For the most part though I saw nearly everyone excited about it. Especially you Busty His quote was "we get a new map mode, and brand new hardware!? Its like Christmas all over again!" Here is how it will work: There are two map listings. Map List 1 - When the server is at 48 people or less, it will run Map List 1, which consists of only CQ maps. When more than 48 people come in, it will change to Map List 2. Map List 2 consists of all CQ maps, with 4 OB maps mixed in every 3-4 CQ map. I will watch our server traffic during these OB maps, to see what maps people favor. We can then switch out the 4 OB maps, in and out, with different ones, from time to time. In regards to the other concern: I definitely am aware of the pains involved in switch maps and modes while trying to fill a server, back in the BF3 days. I experienced it all first had with Cal. During this time, Caliber and I spent hours, days, weeks (3 weeks to be exact) getting the server back and going again. Doing nothing but changing maps and modes and playing against each other only, waiting for the server to fill. It was saddening. But I do see 2 differences here; 1. The game is new enough that people are still trying out new modes and finding new servers. The issue of changing modes and losing people (during BF3) was nearly 2 years after the games release. So to say, people were happy with no change. 2. Obliteration is different than the other games BF3 offered, and is much closer to the likes of CQ, except its more like the flag is ever moving. Lets see how this goes. I personally am looking forward to trying the maps on OB mode. I have only played 3-4 rounds of OB. The other night, it was interesting to watch people who always play CQ, get into OB. Like me, I had no idea how to approach different situations. It wasn't the typical, run to the flag, clear it out, cap it and move on. I will continue to review the server traffic, over the next few weeks, during the maps and modes, to see how we fair. Any other ideas are always open and welcomed. -
No. Just against Purr

Does Rush allow 64man? -
Its really not that bad. I have seen maybe, MAAYYYBE 1 hacker since Ive played on the US Regular 70 man. He was head shotting everyone, so he was banned. It was blatantly obvious. But if I can be in the top 3, and still beat out the non-obvious hackers, then they can have fun hacking away since it isn't affecting me. Also, not sure why you are seeing lag with more than 40 players. Player count doesnt seem to affect server performance as far as Ive noticed. Maybe once the 70man is full 80-90% of the time we can look at a US HC server.
