You guys do realize the this game is broke and you are only making it worse. When the gun shoots its bullet spread gets greater the longer you hold the button. The broken part is that where your sights go the bullets don't follow. You get a random animation for gun sway and recoil and another totally separate calculation for bullet spread that don't match. So while you are trying hard as hell to adjust the sight to hit the enemy the better you are at it the less likely you are to hit him because the code make the bullet spread get farther from the center aka where you are aiming. The ACR was one of the guns that allowed you to compensate for that. Counter strike was the same way but the recoil was calculated first so if you sprayed more than 2 seconds you would have to aim at the feet to get a head shot. There are a ton of forum post about it and videos. if you watch the crosshair in the video and where the bullets are hitting you will see what I mean. BTW he is better than most at handling the recoil Either way I haven't been playing this game in a while or tried the new mod enough to say I miss the ACR or not. I'm just saying that making the game harder to play by nurffing the one gun that made the games mechanics feel better instead of trying to buff the rest kind of make no sense to me. On another note. I have played first person shooters since the first quake and never played World of warcraft or any other MMO's. I started playing Elder Scrolls Online and I just can't stop. if I'm not mistaken you can fix the mic issue by running any program that uses a mic as administrator. So for example if you are running cod2, team speak, xfire all on the same pc you should: right click on teamspeak shortcut and run as administrator then right click on xfire and run as administrator then you right click on cod2 and run as administrator. if you stop cod2 or anything else you will need to run it as administrator when you start it back up. my friend had the same issue a while back this fixed it. hope it helps.

Doesn't insurance cover your losses when stuff like this happens? I have a bricklaying company and when I get my stuff stolen from the job the insurance company takes care of it. Its not a fun thing to deal with and there is some down time but it all works out. I have never caught anyone that stole from me though . would be nice to see them get what the deserve.

yea I put in a new sound card today and the problem is gone. So I'm guessing it was the onboard sound drivers. Might try to reinstall those or change them to a more stable version later. Its just nice to be able to talk in-game again without the echo. Thanks for all the help guys.

game:cod4 os: windows 7 64bit plug for sound: just regular headset jack. green plug not usb sound card: onboard realtek 7.1 with update drivers I went into the sound settings and the "Listen to this device" was unchecked. It started the same day I bought the headset. I also updated windows and graphics drivers that same day. I might just need to do a reformat. @@Angel Yea I wasn't ignoring you. Its just hard to talk when you hear your self with a delay.

I got a new headset(razer Blackshark) about 2 weeks ago and while in game when I use mic I get a delayed echo of myself talking. It makes trying to talk in game unbearable. It doesn't happen in any other program. Has anyone had this happen before or any ideas on how to fix.

It would be in the mod folder for the server you play on. If its the mw2 beta server it would be in your call of duty folder, Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\Mods\aximw2\screenshots

you could use your graphics cars settings to adjust the brightness more. it might make everything washed out and blend togather. if you post your config I can take a look at it and see if its a game setting or just maybe your monitor. some older lcd monitors have issues with ambient light. I agree tho this game wasn't ment to be played in the dark and espically with rain at the same time. the lighting just isn't good enough.

I was looking at XI members profiles on xfire and yours was set to private. You need to change it on the webpage its a checkbox says public profile. Mine was always set to public but was unchecked the other day too.

@@CobraBites In the reply to your pm the first line in the 2nd paragraph was that I added everyone to xfire. I kind of changed the subject to answer your question about my mic use right away so you might have skipped over it. Sry for any bad grammer or run on sentances. Im a bricklayer not a college grad. As for 3 days later I know thats not long to wait for the process to get done but to have nothing started it kind of agitated me. This was more or less a lack of communication issue thats all. To be honest I would have never posted this except for the fact that my bank sent me papers that they are going to attempt to forclose on me. I attempeted to get ahold of someone all day about it and kept getting the run around from them. I waited for a call back from the main lady all day and still no reply. Ok, I just wanted to vent a little. I have been playing in your freeze tag servers for years with my dad aka blue. I'm 33 he is 60 we are both Bricklayers by trade. We have used cod4 as a way of keeping close over the years. He is the one who got me playing freeze tag and ever since we started I keep comming back. The mod is fun and the people mature and are a riot to listen to. About 7 months ago I decided that It would be nice to join the clan. We talked to an admin and he said we have enough hours play we just need to join the site fill the rest of the requirements. I don't have a problem posting in the forums and all that but my dad is not a guy who likes to type much(aka calloused hands and fingers) let alone post in forums. He's a retired bricklayer what do you expect! So he kind of gave up on joining. Mind you he has more than twice the hours played here as I do. I decided to still join the site with him and make a go at being part of the community. I have attempted to post useful stuff not just junk to get my post count up. I almost forgot that I was attempting to join the clan and was just having a good time hanging here. Then I was asked the other day if I have thought of joining the clan by the same admin. I said absolutely. He went to the site and checked my stuff and said you seem to have filled all requirements but he had to make sure I had teamspeak and a mic. Which I do and have been in your team speak more than once. He then said to add all the admins to xfire and make sure to use your mic in game. again No problem I have been doing that for months now. I call out what I see if it will help my team and I usually rather listen to the members bs more than attempt to be a bs and hog the mic myself. Once a member or when you get to know people more the mic use will go up. It has been 3 days so I decided to xfire the admin and asked why I wasn't a member yet or haven't heard anything yet. He replied that he had to send in an app for me to be a member and that I would get a pm and would have to fill something out. Not a problem I have waited 2 years of playing and 7 month of attempting to become a member I can wait a few more days. Well here is the problem. He then went to say that he is busy and will send in the app later when he had time. hmmm Its been 3 days he had my hopes up the whole time. I've had that same feeling that you get when you are waiting for a package to arive in the mail. but He still hasn't even filled out a app that couldn't take more than 5 min to fill out. I have been on the server with him ever day since and lastnight alone for like 3-4 hours. SO MY QUESTIONS: Is it me or something I have done in that past that is getting me the run around? Do I just not fit in? Is this the way you guys treat all members that have joined in the past? As for my dad: Is posting in your forums that big of a deal that a guy who had put in twice as much time as me and many already members. That could have ended really diffrent. It makes me wonder how much smarter we are now compared to 5000 years ago. I would have to say not much...

Run anyprogram that uses the mic as administrator. so if you have ventrilo or ts running close them first then run them as administrator befor you start cod2 then run cod2 as administrator aswell. Should fix the problem.

umm. Sometimes when you uninstall and reinstall the mod folders don't get deleted. Try to rename/move your mods folder out of your cod4 directory and then connect tot he server again. It should make you redownload the mod. If that don't work let me know and can try somehting else

@@Cobra If you need more help just give me a list I can start a server with the mod and take some of the load. I should be able to get the all maps off the xi downloader?

That captures the feel of the game play so perfect. it makes me want to go paly some more.
