  1. @@Sergeant Fist That's why you get the proc with the k, which means unlocked so you can OC. I used Hyper Threading for video intensive stuff. That's why I always use it. And I did hear 'bout the OCZ a few years back. I would have thought that issue was resolved, but I should have said the Samsung SSD. Those are screaming fast. And on the PSU, PC power and cooling is one of the best. And I would only use one with a single 12 volt rail. Which is what PC power and Colling push.
  2. Look at it this way, the network probably saved thousands from heart attacks.
  3. @@CobraBites Before I got fiber optic, I had the old cable and my power surge had cable plugs as well as the ac. That saved all of my components too. Cuz lightning hit a few times and it survived. Somthing like this one should work, right???
  4. I know your budget is roughly under 1,500 dollars, but this is what I would build. If you can mod yourself. If not, buy a Dell like Kapt. Crunch says. The links below will have your games drooling for action. And, you can always add memory later if you only want to use 8 or 16 Gb now. I don't know what GPU your camp is, so I put both scalable link interface and crossfire options. And the PSU is single 12v rail. The case is mid tower. And you have the option to mount a radiator on top if you choose to go water cooling. Sometimes the full tower cases are too massive, so you can get by with a 0mid tower. This case probably is a bit over 2,000., but like I said you may change your GPU or Memory. I would definitely keep the SSD. At 256 Gb, you could probably install 10 games or more. Use your old HDD for storage. And just game on the SSD. You can always add another later. Have fun... Once you start, it don't stop. 5. I still can't believe Pittsburgh went aught in four. :-(
  6. I have been using xfire since 2005, and most of the time a new client is okay but just takes some time to navigate 'round the new features and options. I seen a vid on You Tube and It looked like COD2 to COD5 comparison. It looked pretty kool. Angel told me she tried it but the list of users wasn't alphabetical as well as there were issues with finding who was online or offline.

  11. I still use Sound Blaster Audigy ZS. Also has the front panel header. The Asus Maximus II, I still use has it's own dedicated sound card, like most high end boards, but I've always been entrenched with Creative Sound Blaster camp and have used those. I use the front panel constantly because it has coax, optic, FireW, MiDi, and others components, which have easy access. Rather fumbling with the rear I/O. And I can even plug in my guitar using it as my amp. I am sure I will have to upgrade one day, but for now I think this is the only piece of hardware that has survived multiple platform builds. I do prefer dedicated over integrated products on all components. But, I have always had a battery of Creative Labs products. I have the old Logitech Z5500 5.1 speakers which pump 500W. The tv audio's fiber is connected to the Z5500. SO you might want to consider a nice console with your speakers which has coax and fiber connections too.
  12. Hi Janey, I hope that your Sis will recover fast. Glad to hear she's doing better. Keeping her in prayers.

  18. Congrates buddy. She's Beautiful!
  19. You should really be using a power surge too to prevent your system from getting fried. It'll save you the headache and money in the long run.
  20. Even if you could lift the layers of rock sediment, they would be proprietized anyway. Hehehe!
  21. I've been playing for 2 weeks now and Angel and Camo have been a big help in getting me started.
  22. She's just tall. If she was fat, I'd lock her in a cage and feed her with a sling shot.
  23. A buddy of mine just did himself in the other day when he got married. I told him that everytime him and his wife do it for the first year, to put a penny in a jar. After the first year, take a penny out of the jar each time you do it. I told him that he would never empty the jar. When he got back from his vaca, he told me he started putting them in...
