@Noears711XI My (>XI<) hat is off to you . . it takes a tremendous amount of courage and effort to pull up stakes and move a 1000 + miles away . . .you gotta want it bad. Whats really cool is (I'm assuming here) that you don't regret the move . . .like me whereas I miss some things (favorite Taco stand, fishing holes, ect.) I am so glad I did it and at times kick myself for no doing it sooner. When the goal that you seek is so beautiful when you reach that goal happiness is following right behind you. Here's to us reaching the goal

OMG @@Hemps your my new hero!! I am just completing a project that's no where near the racing machine you have here but Its a blast to drive. I only have 1 pic and its the first prototype with the Polaris 250cc engine in it. I found out quick that it wasn't (quick) So i rebuilt an old Polaris 400 liquid cooled engine and I am just finishing it up . Its at the ranch I work at because there are miles of dirt roads to drive on and tuning the carb is easier there. I will post some pics when I get done. also at the ranch we are building a razor with a 3 cylinder turbo charged Yamaha snowmobile engine that is supposed to make 200+ HP What is the top speed of the car in the pics above?

It sounds like the @@KaptCrunch has a handle on things here my work is done . . . lmfao @@Hemps This being your 30th trans rebuild you must have had good luck on the previous 29 or you wouldn't be attempting another. Engines V8, V6 ATV, dirt bike I can do but when it comes to an Automatic Transmission I seek help. The modern AT is complicated and intimidating for me only because I have never assisted anyone doing a rebuild to show me what the hell is going on. The guys that came up with the idea and then built the first auto trans drank more coffee than is healthy.

@@Astronomer How did you manage to click at just the right time , did you use a light activated shutter? Those lightning pics are sweet. The only way I could get some good lightning pics is to shoot video and go back and copy still photos from the video. They aren't too focused but the sequencing almost makes up for it. Lightning is a unwilling subject to photograph . .

Very beautiful kinda like a spanish speaking Hawaii . . lol J/k Because of the dangers of visiting many places around the world I prefer to stay right here in the USA but Puerto Rico is different . . I could drink a few Margaritas on a beach there. How did a guy who grew up in New York City end up in Puerto Rico? I can completely understand what your saying about the stars and not seeing a rainbow in New York, I grew up in smoggy southern Calif and between the light pollution and dirty air you couldn't see very many stars and with hardly any rain no rainbows. Now living here in Montana I see more rainbows than cops and enough stars to make your "jaw Drop"

Thank you both @@DEEJAYKEG @@loaderXI for these reminders of a time when much like today freedom must be defended. As history has proven time and again forces of evil committing treachery against free god fearing people that must be stopped through the use of warfare . . . much like today and the threats in the middle east. Lets hope that all nations can see the need to wipe out the thugs that thru the savagery of beheading reveal the level of urgency that's needed to stop this madness.

Not like any road rage you have seen before
Leadfinger replied to little_old_man's topic in General Discussion
The guy getting a beating was serious in that he wanted to confront the driver and the driver was probably apologetic (deploy the cartoon characters) and show the guy how sorry we are. When the mean driver sees the cartoon "heads" he starts laughing and doesn't know what to think or do as he is about to be pummeled by The Micky Bob gang. No real blows are delivered (maybe accidentally). Isn't this how all road rage incidents are handled on the Autopia at Disneyland? Totally unexpected and funny -
Ya Know . . . . . . . How could you not have a good Birthday when so many cool people are wishing you a Happy Birthday. Thanks Everyone I spent the day relaxing under a big pine tree next to the river with the dog doing a little fishing and a little napping . . .It was a fine day here in Montana

It's been stated over and over what a tragedy this accident was. Tony Stewart is not the monster that he's being made out to be. Were there some bad choices made by both parties . .yes there was. The accident that created the situation was just racing pure and simple and is very much a part of dirt track racing . . true Tony Stewart is a veteran driver and Kevin Ward although young is a veteran driver as well having been driving since a very young age. After watching the video in a very slowed down format you can see Kevin Ward grab the front wing of Tony Stewart's car then the back of the wing and as he grabs the wing you can see that it has an effect on the car as if he was trying shake the car at that point he gets pulled under the tire and tossed to the side of the track. Whether or not Tony Stewart revs his engine at the moment Kevin Ward grabs the wing is inconclusive since the camera is positioned on the near side of the track the revving sound heard would more likely be a car on the near side of the track based on the sound level of the revving engine. For anyone to make the assumption that Tony Stewart was trying to run him over is completely untrue and without merit. Did he drive by closer than good judgement would suggest . . . perhaps but looking at the amount of track left after Kevin Ward walks down to what appears to be 1 car width of track he leaves Tony Stewart with very little room to go by. If the car that hit Kevin Ward was driven by an unknown unprofessional driver we probably wouldn't hear much about it except for the night it happened and the next day news, the driver would be cleared because Kevin Ward was the major contributor to the accident by walking into traffic and grabbing the wing of the car. If you look at the accident without names and just the video you see a driver get out of his car and walks thru traffic and makes contact with a car that leads to him being hit by the rear wheel and killed then its just another bad accident at a small town dirt track. Right or wrong that's how I see it

This looks like fun, good Ol fashioned family fun. A good use of old cars, guys with too much time on their hands and family's that are tired of watching TV on a Friday or Saturday night.

I made the best of it and tried to find the good things that were there and focus on them. I knew that the bastards were picking my pocket while I was floating in that chair and I couldn't say or do anything about it and at the time I didn't really care I just knew that the pain that tooth was causing would be gone the next day. Which brings me back around to addressing the post you made earlier Dental insurance is the most corrupt and misleading of all medical related insurance I know of and since you dealt with insurance matters you would know first hand. I have a friend who is a dentist (his practice is to far away for me to see him although with what I'm being charged it might become the smart thing to do financially) and he is clearing $30,000 to $50,000 a month!!! even if that number is being embellished at $30k that would be a killing. It's these types of scandalous fees that bring about cries for change in the medical profession and the Doctors and Dentists should take note . . . . But what choice do we have???? something like Obamacare??? Ask me when I'm hurting and I don't give a shit . . . ask me when I not and I get pissed.

An industrious young lad you were @@little_old_man building silencers can be very dangerous granted it was just a .22 but . . . . . Check out these two sounds
Leadfinger replied to Sammy's topic in Call of Duty 4's Call Of Duty 4 Discussion
I have fired a .22 and a .308 with a silencer and neither will make the gun silent. The .22 sound was reduced to the same sound as an air rifle (impressive). . .quiet but not silent The .308 was a different story, normally the .308 will have a loud ear crushing sound but with the silencer that was attached to this .308 the sound was reduced to what I considered a cap gun. Not silent at all but I wouldn't have known it was a silenced .308 if I hadn't seen it being shot. With that said neither sound byte was accurate but byte number 1 was the closest to being somewhat real and number 2 didn't even sound like it had a suppressor installed on the gun. After searching Google for a sound byte that was accurate I feel like I should hope for you the best of luck @@Sammy (unless you copy something from youtube) -
A true friend. Very nice. I have found that metal clips are more reliable than the plastic/composite ones maybe just the ones I have tried but worth keeping an eye on. I'm looking to buy a green dot laser with flash light both lights have a strobe effect that disorients the the assailant (shock and awe) I have heard that looking at the green dot laser long enough while it is in strobe mode will make you puke . . .i guess that's better than shooting . . .make em puke. lol

I made it out OK the only real extraction was to my wallet in the amount of $460.00 After waiting an hour and a half (the room with the Nitrous Oxide was being used for a 4yr old and they were taking it slow which is OK . . . kids come first) i fell asleep waiting and a very fine looking Dental Hygienist woke me up . . .. I was hoping she was the Dentist . .. I took the Valium and got the xrays and was seated in "the chair of pain". They put the Nitrous mask on and since I made it known I wasn't a willing patient I think the gas level was turned up a bit. Soon I was levitating from the chair and when it was time for the shot to numb things up I didn't give a shit what they did. When the Dentist said "Ok brace yourself" I started to get concerned but then he said "just kidding were done" Hmmmm . .. that was easier than I anticipated. I tried to tell them not to turn the gas off but with my mouth and half my face numb they didn't understand . . . and sign language didn't work either . . . I was cleared for landing and I arrived back in the chair from my trip with a mouth full of gauze and the Dental Hygienist asking me if I needed anything . . . . . .I said yes but the wife is out front but I could come back when she got off work . . lol The scariest part of the whole ordeal was probably the wife driving me home. With a speed limit of 75 mph she was obliged to go 80 mph so instead of white knuckling it all the way home I put the seat back and fell asleep . . . .after all I didn't want to be late for my visit with the Hygienist (In my dreams)

I have an appointment tomorrow at the "House of Pain" I lost a filling and my tooth cracked . . . .it's gotta come out. Tooth pain can be a bitch and this tooth is a 800mg of Advil bitch. I know dentistry has come a long way , My mom used to tell me stories of the Dentist using Ether to knock her out so he could fill a cavity and it wasn't an exact science. Random amounts of either and sometimes she would wake up while he was still drilling. I guess I'm a sissy when it comes to the Dentist . . .but I have never been to the Dentist without experiencing some pain. Maybe tomorrow will be different I'm gonna order up a double dose of Nitrous Oxide and a Valium chaser (the Ol lady will be driving so no worries there) I just hope the dental assistant's are hot so my thoughts will be in a better place . . lol

Glad you and your family are OK. Napa is a very nice town with a lot of old buildings many have been renovated but many not and those building didn't do well in this quake. My wife's brother lives in Napa and he said the pool in his back yard "sloshed out" 5 feet of water from the shaking, his hot tub slid off the deck and a bunch of stuff fell off the shelves in his house. Him and his wife and dog are OK but shook up a bit (ok ok bad joke but that's how her brother described it) I lived in Southern Calif my whole life and experienced several quakes and the smaller ones are not bad . . . .its kinda cool watching the ground roll and the trees wiggle but the problem is that you get no warning and if your doing something (under a car on jack stands) it will scare the shit out of you.

American Journalist beheaded by ISIS scum in Iraq
Leadfinger replied to Sonovabich's topic in General Discussion
ISIS needs to be stopped NOW and not wait to let them take more cities and kill more innocent people. Any country that is civilized shouldn't have a problem with intense multinational air strikes. Every country that has an Air force should contribute even if its just a bottle rocket. What government leader of any country would say that beheading another human for any reason is OK? Yes there will be collateral damage because the targets hide behind innocent women and children . . . .all the more reason these chickenshits need to be stopped. ISIS is a threat to every country that does not agree with their beliefs and last I checked there aren't many that share those beliefs, However ISIS is a solid military machine that gets stronger everyday and unless the world comes together and "bombs the shit out of them" they will roll over every country that they choose. I think the shit stain that is ISIS could be wiped clean with a serious Ariel attack without putting boots on the ground. The free world has the firepower to sustain a relentless barrage of punishment and doing it from the air would keep the "good guys" out of harms way (for the most part) The Nuke Factor The mentality of the freaks that are in charge of ISIS is such that they will at the rate they are going obtain a nuclear device and worse several devices then they just need to teach a hand full of their freakettes to speak Spanish, insert them into Mexico and ISIS will be in our back yard the next day. With that scenario in mind is there any body opposed to gearing up and delivering some good ole "shock and awe" to ISIS while they are still on the other side of the earth? This is a serious world problem and it must be addressed immediately because these bastards are hellbent on wiping out everyone that doesn't agree with them and since most of the world doesn't agree with them they are going to keep killing until they are eliminated and the longer we wait the more killing and worse it's going to get. Great posts everyone . . . . although we don't all agree on what should be done or how . . . .good discussion leads to better understanding of the views of others which leads to compromise and finally a solution . . . . something our Government can't seem to figure out. -

OMFG! Holy shit Batman that had to burn his ass and unit . . . you would think that when the first sparks from the fuse started to burn him he would have done something different besides just let it burn . . . . . . and knowing that it would explode at the end should have been even more motivation to rethink this stupid stunt. I hope none of those kids breed because we have enough stupid in this world already I gotta admit that was funny shit . . .pun intended . . lol -
It just shows you how good writing and talent on a low budget can produce a product that is equal or superior to one that has a large budget. Somehow knowing that the film made with donated money at far less cost would make it just that much more enjoyable for me and I would be more likely to pay for a ticket if I knew a bunch of Hollywood freaks and super rich investors were not going to be rewarded. good find @@Sammy
