  1. @@deerejon I think an >XI< fishing trip would be very cool and I bet it could become more popular than the >XI<fest. Everybody likes to fish and it would cost less. There are clan members all over the country in places where fishing is awesome and could act as guide/host to make sure things went smoothly and put the Idiots on fish. I would be willing to guide some Idiots down the Bighorn River and guarantee no one would get skunked.
  2. Oh yeah, stick a piece of a hot dog or a frozen anchovie on your line cast out sit back with a cold beer and wait for that big ol kitty. My kids used to put corn pops on a hook and catch carp, the water is so clear you could see the fish swim over and eat the corn pop and then the squeelin began . . .lol
  3. Striper fishing is a blast especially when they are boiling pushing the bait out of the water like popcorn . . .toss a big zara spook or your favorite top water lure into the boil and hold on! Those are some fat ones @@deerejon very cool. @@little_old_man where do you go striper fishing . .the Delta , Sacramento river? I used to go to Havasu or Lake Mead but Silverwood and Diamond valley lake were closer.
  4. I've been called many things but never a trouble maker. You have a store? open up lets see what you got . . . . . .
  5. The other day when I tried to get in game I was redirected because I wasn't a clan member but the last time I checked I was so can someone tell me what the criteria for being a clan member when it comes to getting in game? Is there some sort of download . . . ? Granted I haven't played Ftag for a while but thats all the more reason to let me play . . right?
  6. It can't be as simple as "Hmmm maybe if we lock them up in a nice prison they will turn good" That just doesn't seem right. Sending someone to prison for committing a crime is punishment and a prison that nice doesn't fit that category . . . . .I'm not saying that the methods used here in America are the right way and could be considered by some to be cruel. If you want to see an example of a cruel prison I'm sure somewhere in south America you can find an example of that. Thank you @@LadyIngvild for posting this and giving us a something to think about
  7. Sorry to hear this . . prayers for you and your family. I'm not sure how good of a crew a bunch of idiots could be but considering this crew is XI you can be assured they are the best.
  8. I was very stoked when I bought my first roller cam/rockers for my 289. I only listed a few things but there have been many improvements over the years. The parts you listed were also very important to the number of miles that an engine could go . . thanks. There are a number of "motorheads" that are members of XI with much more knowledge than me but one thing we all have in common is the amazing internal combustion engine.
  9. This is a great post. On the older engines doing a rebuild was fun and rewarding. I've done a valve job on a 1950 Plymouth rebuilt my1965 mustangs 289 and countless head replacements. You make a very good point @@Majrpane about doing a few basic tests on your engine before taking the plunge and buying a new or rebuilt. Simple things like looking at the coolant for oil contamination a common indicator of a leaking head gasket. Doing a compression test tells a lot about the engine as well, if your test results show low compression and after squirting oil thru the spark plug hole and retesting the compression goes up you can expect worn rings . . . on the other hand if there is no change in compresion you should start looking at bad valves (leaking). Listening to the sounds of an engine can also reveal potential problems, a noticeable "ticking" sound might be misdiagnosed as a knock. When you have an exhaust leak it generally makes a "ticking" sound a "hissing" sound most likely will be a vacuum leak. When a knock is heard that usually means a worn rod bearing . . . These are old school tests and they still work on todays engines. I will admit that the invention of the OBD systems has helped in the repair of car engines considerably but at the expense of students learning how to diagnose engine troubles. Todays engines last twice as long as the old engines for several reasons, newer alloys used in making the internal parts of an engine have helped make the engine lighter but probably the single most important innovation in making engines last is fuel injection. In a carburated engine fuel was wastefully metered and often times the excess gasoline would find its way into the oil diluting it and the result was excessive wear due to poor lubrication. Fuel injection is a much more precise way to meter the fuel and only provide the engine with enough fuel to run efficiently and withless emissions. I will never stop loving a well built V8 and the low rumble it makes . . not to mention the head snapping thrust when you give it the onion (floor it)
  10. I'm with you on that a 9mm is fun to shoot and fairly cheap but when it time for business .40 is the one for me. The .45 is a great round but the clip just doesn't hold enough and I find that changing clips sucks and leaves you vulnerable. Nice buy on that sub compact.
  11. No apology needed. The more I age the more I want to learn ( I wish I felt like that when I was in school) so your post was well received. I might have posted this before but worth posting again I shot this toilet with a S&W 500 and filmed it with a camcorder. When I slowed the the video down I was amazed to see the bullet after striking the shitter. (arrow) and the next frame in the video. As you can see we get creative when the weather gets bad and we get bored. @@bds1961 I am fortunate to be able to shoot a .50 cal BMG and that is by far the biggest mule kick I ever felt. What you speak of about the first shot being good and after your clinching your ass cheeks so hard you cant focus is so true. I try and convince myself that the chamber is empty when I go to squeeze the trigger . . . .that don't work either.
  12. That's exactly what I saw in the video. Honestly I didn't know the right term and calling it a smoke trail was weak and furthermore you don't actually see the bullet you see the disturbance as the video shows. I stand corrected and schooled . . .I guess I better take a bit more time when I post Thanks for the video @@little_old_man and your time for researching . . . . . . . what I should have done before I posted some cool physics going on there
  13. I like to do a little target shooting and while at this ranch I work at we set up targets 100yds, 200yds, 400yds, and 1,000yds away. When you aim at the 1,000yd target (we use an old man hole cover/ sewer lid - heavy thick cast iron about 2"thick and 30" dia.) you have to aim approximately 16' high using a .308 rifle. If your standing behind the shooter you can see the bullet fly thru the air in an arc and then you hear a "Ding" if your on the mark. Your probably wondering how you can see a bullet traveling over 1,000 feet per second . . . . .it leaves smoke trail. Very cool
  14. Nice gun . . I'm a gun control freak . . no sense in shooting it if you can't control it. Be safe
  15. By me wishing you a Happy Birthday this late you get to keep on celebrating . . . . .. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mr. Pete!!
  16. Photoshop? I guess using Photoshop is not taboo and it is still an art form
  17. Dude did you really have to post a pic of your laundry . .I mean seriously . . . . har! Nice pic.
  18. How did you manage to get the stain glass windows colors in a black and white shot?
  19. Have you ever gone fishing? Would you like to? If your ever down this way I could take you down the Bighorn in my drift boat. The Bighorn is a world class fly fishing river with over 4000 fish per mile Don't worry about touching worms either when you fly fish you use artificial flies.
  20. I had to change the way I drive at night when I moved here, now I occasionally look at the road but most of the time I'm looking for deer on the shoulder of the road. When the rut starts (breeding season) the Bucks are stupid with love and will gladly walk out in front of oncoming traffic if there are Does on the other side. . . . . . .
  21. Well . . . . Idk . . .Montana is a big state. How far away from me are you? Kidding. Looking at my drivers license it says I'm in Fort Smith. At the entrance to the Bighorn National Recreation Area 40 miles south of Hardin. Where might you be ?
  22. @@AyaqGuyaq, @@Bosun Bison meat makes for some great meatloaf and great jerky but when it comes to a steak I'll take a Beef rib-eye @@little_old_man @@hxtr @@KillerKitty @@TBB @Olive Thanks @Labob Lol . . . . no wings but they can run pretty fast @@PimpedOutPete They have a weakness (at least this herd) for Oreos so getting them to come close is no problem. A few years back I was out there with a few other guys a drinking some beers and my friend (his ranch) drove up to this huge bull bison named "Lil bit" and rolled the window down on the passenger side and that bull walked over and stuck his head in the window for a Oreo cookie . . . . . . .the guy sitting in the front seat bout shit himself . . . . . . .not to mention the drool all over him . . .lol
  23. So I went up to my friends Buffalo Ranch today and hung out with these guys he has around 80 head and is looking to have about 140 next year. Did I mention that they like Oreo cookies . . Har!
  24. When you here the term "The whole nine yards" that statement refers to a 30 cal. machine gun belt that was . . yep nine yards long . . . and a very excited gunner that was gonna shoot the whole belt at the enemy. "Give em the whole nine yards"!!
