Thank you folks. At least I got something useful out of being on the village board. Looking forward to putting on my lab coat & setting up my own little mad scientist laboratory. Lots of beakers, graduated cylinders, scales, cruibles, ooooh! All the toys I miss so much. BTW LOM, it isn't shit anymore. It's BOD (biological oxygen demand). All about DO, VLMSS, cubic feet per/min, TDH, mg/l, and PPM. Lots of acronyms & formulas to baffle the uninformed. The good ol' boy network is already congratulating me, especially since I proposed the Idea of using this little town as a campus to train operators. Tee-hee, Dean of my own little school....... Hey Damage! My brother & sister in law live in McHenry, out in Bull Valley. Have to meet up sometime when we're in town. Bimbo's is one of the dinner spots we like.

Johnny, do you own a calender? This is 2012, soon to be 2013. Not 1960. We have so many f*cking laws governing what you MUST pay, and what benefits you MUST provide that it's not worth discussing. Try and start a business now, in this country. You'll tear your hair out trying to comply with all the regulations. Add to that some union rep making his/her own personal demands. You, me, and any other sane capitalist would throw in the towel and say piss on it. That is what is happening here in the US. Hostess is just another American Icon falling by the wayside, drowned by compliance. Capitalism is about profit, and when unions, trade sanctions, federal and state regulations make it impossible to make money, the reason to be in business evaporates.
