I wish it could be different, but I'm terrified that Harry is correct. History says so. No one allows a government that cannot follow its' own laws to exist. Government isn't bigger than the nation, it's just the steward. Nations and people survive, politicians fall by the wayside.

Rob, you're a genius. With one post, you managed to get every communist, marxist, and socialist to gaslight themselves. Amazing work. All the enemies of liberty, every freedom hating dictator wannabe stood right up and declared themselves. Enjoy your borscht, or fishheads over cabbage soup comrades. I'll have the lasagna, and a large glass of Merlot to savor, with a huge dose of freewill. You can keep the Hammer & Sickle for your bed-sheet.

One thing is certain, no matter what bilge soaked tripe they're peddling, a communist will always consider themselves the most intelligent person in the room. It's in their nature, pure arrogance. Doesn't matter one whit what anyone else says, they're too wrapped in their cloak of moral superiority. The most immoral, unethical, swine preaching to the rest of humanity.

Mike, you're wasting your breath. To these folks, moderate means standing to the left of Mao Zedong, hypocrite isn't in their dictionary, and the rules are for everyone else. You can be reasonable, you can be obnoxious, it won't matter.

Flopping, diving, simulation or schwalbe

You're precious Rob, it's about attention vs. playing the game. LeBron is now known as the big flopper for his antics. You never knew that Michael was hurt until the game was over. -

Bake a pie & crisp for Lori's birthday and bring them to work w/a bucket of ice creme. All I bring home are empty dishes & some ice creme. Same for the Brandau reunions, Those old German farmers can't get enough rhubarb. Farmers markets are coming up, thinking about bundling some. Hy-vee sells it for $6 a pound, that's a bit steep. $2 would be more reasonable.
-
Stopped mowing for a bit, margarita & wienies. That do TBB? Went back out to finish, beer in hand. If anyone needs rhubarb, my little patch has become aggressive.

Yep, kind of beating your head against a wall Rob. The informed and educated know all this nonsense isn't going to have a flowery end. Those that will not accept any form of reality are hastening their own demise, and they're too ignorant to see it coming. You can lead a horse to water...... I quit posting for the better part of a year, after being threatened on this site for continuing to work. Like Ted Cruz says, you can't befriend the "woke", you might as well continue to piss them off, because you have a voice, and their "canceling" doesn't silence you. Somebody has to point out the obvious, even if it isn't popular.

First, polite response. We work with data, lots of it. 150+ credit unions, hospitals, banks, municipalities, county governments....et al. We handle all their data. Terabits daily. When Rona struck, we were faced with a dilemma. Everyone couldn't work from home. Over Margaritas, we decided to collect every bit of information we could on covid19, what it would take to work in that environment with some margin of survival. Volunteers stayed to work production, based on the level of risk. By summer of 2020, it was obvious the data we were collecting wasn't matching what the CDC was saying. By Thanksgiving, nobody believed anything the government was saying about anything. For anyone to say we made our decisions ignorantly, betrays their own ignorance. Nobody owes allegiance to a government agency that admits it modified data to suit a political agenda. Do that, and your credibility is finished, forever. Not so polite response. I couldn't care less what you do to make yourself feel righteous. Get jabbed, rub a hot curling iron up your asshole, whatever. Don't be a dipshit and post crap that is controversial, and expect tulips and caramels to roll your way.

And the attacks start, way to chime in Timmah. This is what our nation needs, more division.
-
Very well for you, but I'm not jumping in. Mask mandates are being dumped around here, and all of us who worked daily throughout this debacle feel the same. We believe our eyes, not what the CDC says.

You got vaxxed Rob, it'll be safe. Push the button

Camillus survival knife
TheLastColdBeer replied to TheLastColdBeer's topic in Hunting, Shooting, Fishing, Boating
It's tough, don't know what alloy it is or what tempering they did. Scared.....lol, probably scared it was going to be ignored for a few more years. Here's my Ontario kitchen set, they were scarred from use too, but Mother's brought them back to a mirror shine. My wife Lori loved using them, but hated the cleaning part. She was a dishwasher kind of gal. Put a brand new set of Rada knives through our washer & ruined every handle. -
An old Vietnam Veteran friend of mine gave me this Camillus knife years ago. It was rough, battered, and scared, really used. Wish I had taken a before picture, but I didn't. Was sitting at my desk w/a can of Mother's mag wheel polish nearby, and absentmindedly started polishing. Never used Mother's on hardened steel before, didn't think it had any effect, but wow! I was wrong. Lots of polish, lots of sanding w/1000 grit, and stoning an edge & honing on a butcher's steel got it to this point. It can cut a sheet of paper freehand, about as sharp as I can get anything.

Amazon fire refused to connect to my home wi-fi. Bit annoying, because it found every network surrounding me, but couldn't connect to the same home network it had been using for months. Rebooted it, rebooted my routers, checked all my other devices (they were happily connected) and no go. Re-typed my SSID & password half a dozen times, turned off bluetooth, finally got pissed enough to do a factory reset. DING! Found my network immediately. WTF.....too bad fire doesn't offer much in the way of diagnostic tools, it tells it's working, or not. At least my Android devices offer you options. Does this again it's getting rooted and 11.0 getting installed.

TBM gathering of Warbirds event
TheLastColdBeer replied to TheLastColdBeer's topic in General Discussion
Ride in the back seat of an avenger for $350. I'd rather sit on the ground & listen to them. Pouring down rain right now, so all's quiet at Peru. We'll see if the sun comes out later. Can't even get my grass mowed this morning. Wish I would've snapped more pix last night, but too busy watching & listening. Here's one after they fueled the B-25, and a Powerwagon, 2 jeeps & a Harley 45 pulled up. -
TBM gathering of Warbirds event

couple of quickies off my phone, traffic coming in was getting heavy. Aerobat team scheduled to fly @ dusk, so I ran home to watch from my patio ( & have a beverage) -
https://tbmreunion.org/ Warbirds meet, car show, night aerobatics show tonight @ Peru, Illinois airfield. Planes have been flying in, the sound is wonderful. Golf carts are loaded & we're headed to the field straight from work (we're just off the field). Nothing like the thunder of Wright Cyclones full throttle.

34oz bottle of Valentina sitting on the shelf, big bottle of Cholula too. We're blessed with several Mexican deli's here. Been going through Melinda's after a visit to San Antonio over Christmas.
