  1. Another empty give away from a moral-less, ethic-less, soul-less, billionaire, trying to look lofty.
  2. Yeah, The Small faces were great, I miss Ronnie Lane.
  3. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9922999/Rolling-Stones-drummer-Charlie-Watts-died-age-80.html Sad to hear, The Stones have lost their anchor. I'll miss the crowds chanting "Charlie!" and him taking his bow.
  4. It means you owe $20 in English.
  5. Thank you Phantom, Bart was quite a guy. This world isn't going to be the same with out him, and the COD2 servers have lost one of the originals. Rest in Peace Bart, I can't believe you are gone. That gravelly voice was a joy to hear every day, and to think I'll never hear it again brings pain to my heart.
  6. I'm saddened by 7toes's passing. He was a great guy, and truly fun to play with. That said, his passing isn't something to quarrel about. Multiple heath issues, combined with the recent crap we've all dealt with, shouldn't be something to wedge against each other. Try and be sane, and understand that several issues contributed to his death. Nobody has a majority on death, it comes for us all. We've all lost love ones during this epidemic, it isn't something that happens to a few, it happens to everyone.
  7. Notice something Kapt? You're scolded for not doing the "right" thing. Why isn't our government doing the "right" thing by closing our border? Or the UK's border? Or Europe's border? The "right" thing is to do the job you're elected to do. That sound you hear is the mating call of hypocrites everywhere. One person who questions the order is considered a threat to all humanity for not following step, but governments allowing the destruction of nations are given a pass.
  8. Raising your own food, canning, freezing & storing are work intensive, but very rewarding. I wish everyone had a chance to farm & raise livestock during their lives, they might appreciate how much work goes into producing food. The best part is the meal though, makes it all worthwhile.
  9. Yeah, logic tends to get you in trouble these days. Us working fools still use it to identify & solve problems, but we still deal with reality. Better off going to the dispensary for your government sanctioned medication. All is well in Oceania.
  10. It's a shame, you can question things that defy the obvious, and people will still vehemently defend their programed response. Sometimes the obvious is just that. No healthy, young, career driven person with a family takes their own life. Especially those on the "correct" side of the law. That's for people with no remaining hope for the future. Multiple suicides? Right.......move alone, nothing to see here.
  11. https://www.newsmax.com/us/dc-police-suicide-january-6-capitol-attack/2021/08/03/id/1030926/ Four suicides, four. One, a tragedy, two, an eye-opener, three? Now four? Arkancide is the new method of retiring people who don't follow the script. The Swamp is dangerous folks, especially to those who won't goose step to their tune.
  12. Texting a retired police officer friend last night (also happens to be a firearms affectionate) and Cockney says all the wartime grips were brown, including machine pistols. Can't say he's wrong, he has several P-38s. His post war aluminum framed P-38s have black grips. Don't have any MP40s handy, but I'll have to look closer at the next gun show.
  13. Same issue here, State police are in charge of the "FOID" cards. Firearm Owners Identification Card. You have to pay a fee to exercise your rights. They're backlogged 6 months or so, but they assure your out of date card is still valid....yeah, ok.
  14. Matching magazine too? Those are special. German bakelite was in brown, but I've seen original black ones too, like the MP38's & 40's.
  15. Was given several harmonicas over the years, but never bothered with them. Picked up a Blues Band and actually took the effort to figure out the scale & how to bend notes. Harmonica isn't easy (at least for me), but it's been a pleasure to sort out. Treated myself to this new Hohner, and it's a pleasure to play. Lays on the night stand, & I can practice to my hearts content all hours of the night. Lot easier than dragging a guitar out @ 2 in the morning. Ode to Joy sounds sweet (so does Cluck Ol' Hen).
  16. You just hit that nail square on the head Kapt. Too bad your point is lost on people who refuse to look at themselves in the mirror.
  17. Rob, I've been around since 2009 or so, and I've seen a lot of drama come & go. Several admins have tossed their tags over issues, then got them back after reflection. A lot questionable people were made admins, showed their true colors, and got pitched out the door. Took time, with a lot of eye-rolling by bystanders, but things got done. I have to say, Rugger does an amazing job keeping this anthill swept up and cohesive, because nobody else would put up with half the nonsense he does. Remember, this is supposed to be fun. Getting your knickers in a twist isn't fun, and not why you play the game.
  18. I like the Element 115 ideas. Using an isotope unavailable in our neck of the woods to bend space to your whim. Why burn coal & take centuries to get somewhere when you can just punch in the coordinates, bend the space in between, and step across. Different drives for interstellar and local transport. Sure makes the UFO sightings moving at impossible speeds and changing directions seem more plausible. Why punish yourself with a 25g change of direction, when you just make multiple, rapid, small bends in local space. Given that Idea, if you had the whole universe as your playground, would you really bother stopping @ a hicksville, hillybilly planet, out in the back 40? One with a bunch of morons running things that can't even tell if they're boys or girls? With nuclear weapons they might cap off @ a moments notice? Things are much more interesting downtown, with binary stars, quasars, gas giants pulling themselves apart, black holes gobbling everything up.
  19. Well lad, I had read the shoutbox the other night, and it just was the usual flirting & wordplay, didn't give it that much attention. Bookies? Odds? Odds & sods for a tosser down the bogpot to me. Send the kids swimming at the pool.
  20. Rob, did you just toss a dart at a dictionary & randomly pick words to type? I'm one of the last of our group to remain working, and everyone else I know is enjoying retirement, but they've managed to hold onto their marbles (well, most have), but you fill me with doubt. If it's a pleasant delusion, have at it m8.
  21. Take care Toes, it isn't like you have enough on your plate already.
  22. That doesn't take any intelligence to predict, sniffy would look confused, forget where he was, and his handlers would usher him away.
  23. I'm not so clever as to predict what anyone else would do with unlimited resources. Silly me, I was intrigued with Paul Allen's deep sea exploration and discoveries of the USS Indianapolis, IJN Furutaka, IJN Mogami, & all the other ships my Uncles talked about when I was a kid.
  24. Too bad they didn't send him on a solar cruise chasing Starman. We could use a few less Bezos around here.
  25. Rod & Gun club is a quarter mile down Spring Creek valley. Everyone in town is a member, with a rifle & pistol range & trap machines. Sound of gunfire echoes back into town all day, and nobody even notices. The only time you stop to listen is when the belted magnums come out, or the State police are playing w/their full auto ARs. Otherwise, it's just the sound of folks enjoying themselves. Forth of July, New Years? Folks around here are rather enthusiastic.
