  1. Happy Birthday! Have a great day
  2. I hear ya SOB. Don't care much for folks "ordering" me to share all I've worked for. Charity begins at home, and not in someone's capital. Especially when the people setting moral standards don't have any ethics compass to gauge. Lead by example, the rest will follow.
  3. Happy Birthday 6FtUnder, have a splendid day!
  4. Happy Birthday Hefe, have a great day!
  5. First time I saw a lomcovak performed was at Ida Grove Iowa. National RC meet with Jimmy Franklin & the Waco Mystery Ship. Couldn't believe an airplane could do that, and recover. Have a t-shirt with Jimmy's signature, priceless to me. Still can't do one at will, or even put a bipe into a flat spin consistantly, but when I do, it's a marvelous feeling, reminds me of the pilots that risked their lives.
  6. I'm still running ancient 4 & 6 channel stuff from the 75mhz era. Friends are into choppers now, and have mostly moved on to 2.4, although a few still run old radios, even mode one. Never liked helis enough to take one up.
  7. Yeah, same here. Old Futaba attack four w/no buddy port. Airtronics with the obsolete big round buddy. JR 6102 has the buddy port in back, and it's the standard earphone jack. Nice to practice with the same transmitter you fly with.
  8. I like Phoenix 5.5 for the computer. Plug my favorite JR transmitter into a usb port and I can dumb thumb to my heart's content. Keeps you a little fresh, and you can practice that inverted flat spin or lomcovak without busting balsa. Ain't the same as real, but it'll do.
  9. lol, that's why I mentioned the Duraplane. Horrible thing to learn from, flew like a bent brick, and you had to bring them in hot. Forget dead stick, glide ratio of an anvil. Kept a bag of props and big rubber bands, cause you were gonna pile it in sometime. Tricycle landing gear was the only plus, if you could level it out fast enough on your approach.
  10. Happy Birthday M16, have a great day!
  11. Yeah, that's the only way I've had success. Nerve wracking way to bring a plane in. Too used to forgiving bibes like Wacos. Chop the throttle, level out on approach, and plop down on perfect three pointers. No way does that work on the WWI kites. Fly it right to the ground, plant the wheels with a long roll out, and kill power only after the tail sags. Reminds me of the old Duraplanes.
  12. You oughta know about dogs Bart, the way you slurp outa the bowl.
  13. One of my bucket list items is to build a Sopwith Camel, 1/4 or 1/5 scale. Having my doubts after flying the Hanger9 model on Phoenix simulations. Dammit, what a tricky bugger to land. About 50/50 whether it gets down safely or ends up on its nose. Model forums tell the same tale. Any experiences out there?
  14. Happy Birthday Tim
  15. Yeah, we have set the stage for air supremacy in all of our last conflicts. Wouldn't look good to lose a B2 to SAM because of poor planning. I miss the Tomcat. Saw one run the race course at Reno right with a F16. Amazing aircraft, and while carrying the Phoenix missle, a supreme fleet defence airplane. Going to be a shock when a carrier gets taken out by a wave of missles.
  16. Happy New Year Hexe and Bakke
  17. Happy Birthday & Happy New Year to everyone!
  18. Happy New Year!
  19. Happy New Year Pain!
  20. But Monika, I want you to stay.....
  21. I have a British Rail wool coat. Took the emblems off the collar and wore it to church one Sunday. Our minister was Welsh, and broke out in the biggest grin on our way out. Can't hide that red trim.
  22. Happy Birthday Raven, have a good one!
  23. Happy Birthday Capt Tenneal, have a great time & enjoy!
  24. Love the crooked Windows pic, right below the vodka bottles.
  25. Happy Birthday Bdog, have a great day!
