you could of put win 8 on a usb stick to test it out if you bios supports booting from usb Yes my BIOS supports it. But I wanted to see how many programs that I like and us are stable running on a HDD. Like Technoboy, I too run SAM for our radio station and found that it had problems running. Also, I do not like the fact that I need to do new installs of all my COD games. Like I said. I have a free copy of Windows 8 Pro so I just thought I'd kill some time while I'm home this week before I head out again.

Thanks everyone for the input. I have had a chance to play with Win 8 all day and find it very tedious. I will keep it as a partition on my old drive. But I have seen so many things that it is incapable of doing that we are all used to with Win 7, I think I will keep that as my main OS for now. An no Mot, please don't go bashing everyone here. It was just their feelings on their experience. Same as mine.

So I decided to partition one of my drives and do a Windows 8 install for testing. I was just curious if anyone has tried this and can get their HLSW and other shortcuts on the desktop to work? I got XFire and a few to work but HLSW and Itunes and a few others wont work from my original C: drive on the other part of the partitioned D: drive. Any help would be grateful.

+1 for me also, I can't wait either. But in the mean time for those who like to read. I would highly recommend a book called "A Higher Call" It is about a a German WWII fighter pilot and a American Bomber pilot. Here is the short of it. An American bomber plane was severely damaged on a run and was left for dead when a lone German fighter plane showed up and decided not to shoot them down and saluted them as he peeled off. This is a true story and I for one am enjoying this book tremendously. Pick it up if you get a chance. -
