I had a post in General Discussion on the fiscal cliff that appears to have been either removed or lost. It had a link to the repercussions of not resolving the issues if the matter was not resolved. I also commented on the post by being critical of our dollars spent in support of foreign countries when we ourselves have financial issues. I do not thing there was anything offensive in the post that would cause it's removal. I am curious as to why it is gone and would suggest that if it was removed by an admin that the author be notified so that if a rule were violated the author would then be aware of what constitutes a violation. I would be quite surprised if the post were removed because of any violation on my part. Perhaps moved to the political forum that as a guest I cannot see? Although I did not see it as political. If so it still would have been nice to have been notified.

Don't we say that about every generation but yet there always comes one. How about the ones we have know that dont seek the lime light or cant. Trust me there there as long as we have a west point they will be there. Hooo rawww The Long Gray Line.

I took over a task my wife had done before, shuttling seniors to the Senior Citizen Center for Christmas Day festivities which will include an early Christmas dinner. Unlike her, I did not stay at the center and work. Just got finished with the shuttle service. It is good to feel you have done something nice. Not sure if I will be needed for transportation back home. Taking them to the center is much happier because they are getting out to do something. Taking them home to an empty house can be sad. This evening I will be with my family for Christmas dinner. Also spent yesterday with family and gave gifts to Grand Children. A good day! In my house gifts were usually exchanged on Christmas Eve once we got past the Santa idea. I think it's a Swedish thing.

Gun buy backs are old news and gain impetus as events such as CT occur. What is not noted is how many of those guns do not make it to the trash heap but become possessions of various authorities involved with the buy back program. Many now become unregistered guns in the possession of others. And while I admire our police I am also not naive enough to not think that some of them would not take advantage of the guns for personal gain. Either for personal use or sale to others, perhaps even the criminal element. Let's not wear blinders with regard to the drawbacks of a gun buy back program.

I suppose I am the odd duck but I love winter, snow and all. I despise summer. Waking up to a snow fall everything just seems so fresh and clean, I feel more alive. Can't wait for our first snow. BTW, it does not count unless it's 6" or more. Perhaps it's just in my blood, my parents were from Sweden, my Mother home was north of the Arctic Circle.

Not to worry, California will be an island in the near future when it gets shook loose from the mainland.

The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight, because by then your body and your fat have gotten to be really good friends. Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved. When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to your youth, think of Algebra. You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks. One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is such a nice change from being young. Ah, being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable.

That's the way to go, buy one ready to go instead of screwing around building one yourself and getting agita.

As for the Mayans saying the end of their time would be 12/21/12 I have to suppose they simply did not see the Spanish coming.

I am old school, nice to see respect shown to Mom. As it should be. As an example being from a shop environment I have a potty mouth. That said I have NEVER used MF'r. In my day being called that was fighting words. Might still drop the gloves today but just might get my old butt whipped but I would give it a shot.
