  1. Sonovabich According to this i must be the only European getting a lower ping on the new server? my ping is down from about 150 to 124, maybe people should just get a decent internet provider. I won't go into too much detail but it's all to do with routing tables within the routers which tell the traffic which direction next to take. The number of routers it goes through is known as the number of hops it has to take. The less number of hops the quicker the traffic will get there, and the lower your ping will be. You can see this by doing a "trace route" to the IP address in question. open a command prompt and type "tracert 8.12.22.50" without the quotes, then hit return. Do the same with the 208.100.0.133. I have added mine below. Traffic will always try to take the quickest route, however as you see from mine below that one of the routers tried a specific path which didn't exist. It then looks at the routing table it has been configured with, and trys an alternative route, which can be longer. As a consequence, the old server had one extra hop than the new one, and the new server for me is some 5-10 ping lower. I know that either Stormcrow or Iron were getting a ping of 40 on the old server and on the new server about 95-105. After doing a trace route he went from 2 hops to 7 (approx). So you are correct in one respect, that depending on your ISP will depend on which route to take (some taking extra hops). It also depends on distance, so if the old server was on the West Coast, and the new one on the East Coast, then the distance to the new one will be less, and subsequently less hops to take. Hope this helps explain.
  2. Time to move away from Verizon. They are shit. I used them in the past for our internet service at work, and they were so bad I had to ditch them.
  3. Take care buddy
  4. Welcome Willy. About time. Glad to see you wearing the best tags in the world
  5. Welcome to XI Heff. Good to have you onboard
  6. Alternatively open up cod 4 MP.exe and search with source of internet (have no filters on to be sure to find it). TThen sort by server name (XI servers naturally appear near the end), and you will see both ftag1 servers. Hightlight it and click add to favorites at the bottom. Now go to source of favourites and it will be there.
  7. Quark do you have Xfire? Don't even know if it is Mac compatible. Oh well if so, then go o the server section (2 computers as the image). Then highlight the word favorites. Now at the bottom click on the "add game server to favorites" button (it has a plus symbol). Choose cod4 and put in the ip of 208.100.0.133 In the port section put 28960. Job done, and you will see it in your favorites section.
  8. Hmmmm, that's a bit weird. I thought PB was on all the servers!
  9. I don't know if you have done any of the CC's but I'm MCSE and CCNA qualified. I personally found the CCNA more difficult than doing all my MCP's combined, and it is just the base level. You can't even go for CCIE until you have this, and several other levels of qualifications. Bare in mind this is the mother of all qualifications, and is probably harder than taking the bar and 6 master degrees at once. As the link shows, there are less than 15,000 people worldwide with this qualification. One of my associates has this qualification, and is on over £200,000. He told me that you really need a minimum of 10-15 years Cisco practical experience before attempting this. It also states that less than 3% of those people with Cisco qualifications go on to be CCIE. In Europe I believe there are only 2 places you can take these exams, the nearest for me in the UK is Holland. All I can say is that this about the equivilent of taking 6 complete MCSEs, and if you haven't any experience in Cisco VLANs, backloop bridging to name a few, then I would highly recommend to start with CCNA and work up. http://www.certification-crazy.net/ccie.htm Good luck if you are still going for it, and think of me when you are minted. Regards, Cavey
  10. welcome and good to see you
  11. Welcome buddy and have fun.
  12. I stopped playing MW2 because there were too many hackers/cheaters... VAC what a load of wank!!!
  13. Rockape is right on the Money. I also have had to fix lots of computers with AVVG free edition. Must be a Dorset thing!!! AVG free edition was good about 5 years ago when they invested heavily. However it hasn't been in their interest in recent years, and shows. I'm a true believer in "You get what you pay for" and "Security Suites" from Bitdefender and Kaspersky. Even Norton have rewritten their solution from the ground up, which has made it much quicker, and highly rated. I personally use Kaspersky internet security 2010. This is a 2 year license for upto 3 pcs, and only costing £70!!! Bargin.
  14. Bollocks.... I hope my boss doesn't get it for his Iphone.... He maybe able to see me playing when I'm taking a sickie!!!
  15. Ruggerxi Its hard to please people when they change there minds every other day, or half the people want something and the other half dont. I will be rotating them in and out as we go along. I am updating maps today so I will remove them on this update, next update I will bring some back. The joys of being the boss... People and personality management!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will never please everyone, LMAO
  16. Hiya mate. I maybe able to help. I'm MCSE qualified, and an IT Manager. The next time this happens, wait a while and then forceable shutdown (hold finger on power button for 10 secs). Make a note of the date and time. Boot up and wait for the pc to settle down (loading all the services in the background). Click on Start and type "Event Viewer" (without quotes) into the search facility. Choose event viewer from the list and it will open a window. This application will show you all the events that have happened on your computer, and is a tool I use everyday to troubleshooot problems at work. The most useful one will be the Windows Logs. Look at each catergory and specifically around the date and time when you had to forceabely power off your machine. This should give you an indication to what is causing the problem. Once you have this information, we stand a better chance of pin-pointing the problematic software or hardware. If you are struggling I can always take control of your machine and help. Just download Teamviewer from www.teamviewer.com (full version/windows). Cheers, Cavey
  17. PhuckitMan, as Rugger said in the post above, he is taking it down...
