I think I removed this tool with anti malware and rogue killer but when I restarted my computer all file had disappear.

I think it 's just hide but I don't know how to solve this problem.

I run Xp sp2 .

Any idea ?

Thanks

Have you tried booting into safe mode and accessing the system?

If it works then run antivirus and malware etc......but make sure you have no internet connection when you boot to safe mode

This is how you remove viruses or malware from your puter : restart your puter , hit F8 or F5 or even Dell users

F1 or F2 and get into setup ( not BIOS) setup , start windows in safe mode then open up system restore , if there

are no restore points available your'll have to either use the command config or run scans in safe mode and

manully remove any threats , then stop downloading porn from sites that are not trusted and you'll be fine

I had a heck of a time with that virus.

I finally got it back to working and Spybot Search and Destroy was the program that removed it. I screwed up and was going to relaod the second drive but ended up formatting the wrong drive so I ended up reloading Windows anyways.

It was the biggest pain in the ass virus I ever worked on.

Here is a link to start with.

If you are not familiar with computers it is easier to just save all your files to a USB drive and reload. I spent a week of my life fighting that stupid thing.

Fu**ing scareware...

How ever:

I personally wouldn't trust a system anymore, which has been infected with such a crap.

In this cases, secure your data to an external HDD or flash drive and re-install Windows, even if your anti-virus

program has removed the shit. Who knows if there is such other crap in background like keyloggers, other spy- or

malware which has not been detected by Gdata & co. (I know, I am a little bit paranoid ;) )

This virus you've contracted generally comes from porn , gaming and torrents sites and its real name is AV8 and it is

designed to look just like windows and is made for one reason only and that is to STEAL YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO

TO CHARGE YOU OVER AND OVER , IT WILL BLOCK YOUR WHOLE COMPUTER FROM RESPONDING TO ANY

COMMAND OTHER THAN ITSELF THUS THE ONLY WAY TO ACTIVATE IT IS TO INSERT YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO

there is only 3 ways to eliminate this virus , 1. is difficult W7 users must right click on Computer at that time the virus

will try to turn off My Computer or Computer so you'll have to catch it before the virus shuts it off by putting your mouse

at the top of the blank file top where you move files from , if you are fast and can grab it you can open My Computer

this is a tricky process .

and 2. is by booting in safe mode and its a bit tricky also getting to recovery , you have to get to the set up page and

start windows in safe mode without networking once on your desk top right click of Computer and goto properties from

there you'll be able to restoire your puter to an earlier time .

3.

Microsoft Command Prompt "attrib" is a very useful tool to check if your hard drives even your flashdisks have been infected by a virus.

You will know if a Malware is inside your hard drive just by looking at the attributes of each files and the file that has the attributes of +s

+h +r

The function of attrib is to set and remove file attributes (read-only, archive, system and hidden).

Launch attrib

To start attrib

  1. Go to Start Menu > Run
  2. Type cmd (cmd stands for command prompt)
  3. Press Enter key

The Command Prompt will appear showing us where is our location in the directory.

Using attrib To use attrib

  1. Go to the root directory first by typing cd\(because this is always the target of Malware / Virus)

2. Type attrib and press Enter key

YOP you have to goto start and type in hidden goto the second radio button (the round

ones) and put a blue dot in it (show hidden files and folders) , I have a solution for you on how to manually remove using the

cmd prompt however the website is not responding to my post that I have spent the last hour trying to post for you , just hang

in there I have sent a PM to Phantom on this and will get it posted right ASAP this cmd prompt method uses the attrib cmd for

locating and removing viruses and malwares

try system restore to previous date.

or you need 2 hard drives, place your infected hard drive in the secondary position .

place your good hard drive in the primary position use your antivirus to remove virus.

viruses are only a threat when they are part of the main operating system place them dissabled environment and remove them is your best bet.

this also depends on your anti viruses ability to remove these items , i use AVAST does the job every time..

For one thing guys SP3 for XP is a different version (DO NOT LET XP CHANGE TO SP3) a different version MEANS

the XP disk is ONLY good through SP2 , when an XP computer gets to service pack 3 to do ANYthing you will first have

to remove SP3 till it is removed you will not be able to do a (recovery install) or a (RAW install) yes XP may be fun but

it hasn't been supported for many years now , as long as you don't touch XP SP2 in ANY WAY you'll have no problems

and you said its for your parents , the more people understand computers the more they want to achieve the more they

want to explore and the more problems will arise but since they are using an old OS with no future options they will be

grounded every single time the moral being (No Old Computer Is Good For Anyone) .

And by the way I can remove that virus or any other virus in just a few minutes and that virus that you had was the most

common threat these days and its called AV8 & AV9 and is commonly thwarted as many other skins hiding itself.
