I have two monitors setup. Every time I open a program up, it opens up on the right monitor. I want it to open on the left one, my main one, the one with the task bar.

FIX now

If you're using Windows 7, go to Conrol Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display > Screen Resolution. On that screen, you can choose which monitor to make your primary one.

Also check the display settings in the control panel of your graphics card software. If all good there and good as per above in the windows display properties, and still no go, swap the cables around on the video ports.

Also, since you are running multiple displays, check out Display Fusion. A neat little program for managing multiple displays and also ability to have a taskbar on both displays. I have 3 monitors and this program works nice with some of its features.

simple solution to this is to put whatever window to whatever program on the monitor you want to the extent of:

if you want on the left monitor, you need to dock it to the far left half of the screen using the "snap left", then close the window, next time it will open in that same location.

if you want a certain window open on the right, then set it to the right monitor, and close it, then next time it will open on the right.

you can even do this specific with thing like certain people you talk to through xfire, specific to whoever you set on one monitor or the other, will always open in that last saved position.
