I hear people constantly asking about how to record videos and it seems like even our esteemed admins don't seem to know how to do it the easiest way and also watch it with without downloading all the crap that they are told they need to do this with. Here is the easiest way to record and send and watch them. They also are very small files compared to xfire and what you see was what happened in game.

First thing is the player for COD4 is located at this link: http://www.cybopat.net/vb_cod4player_eng.php. Download and install and then set it up to your demo file.

Then when you go to record a video there are steps to do it too. While in game all you need to do is use the ~ key to open up the console and then type the following: /record(name of player). Make sure you are spectating the player you want to record him. When you are done recording simply type: /stoprecording.

Now if you want to watch this video you need to have the location map of the demos file. Find the file you want to watch and right click it and select the COD4 player as the default player.

Now I know many of you all ready have this set up but even with some of you that do you don't understand how to share it with others. I understand there is a way to watch it in a virtual mod but there are several files you need to make this process work. Not so with the COD4 player. This is primarily for admins but also for anyone that wants good crisp and clean videos.

To share this as a clan member there are a couple easy ways to do this! First you can simply send it thru xfire or you can simply post them on the website. For you admins if all you simply install the COD4 player is post the video in the admins forum! This eliminates all the confusion of setting up all the unnecessary files and programs you do not need and that only makes it much more difficult.

If you have anything to add that makes it much easier and quicker please feel free to add to this post! If you have problems one of our esteemed admins helped me set this up on my pc and I find it works great. His name is Larsin!

Larsin rocks!!!

You don't get sound with x-fire videos, right?  The in-game recording just seems so much clearer.

BB I don't and most I know don't but some do. I notice a huge difference in quality to the overall side by side comparison with COD4 player as with Xfire!

Cobra about the only thing I am able to do with xfire vids is upload them to my xfire page but still the quality is really lacking and I have pretty good equipment for doing this on COD4!

One thing I have just found out is you must have the mod down loaded in your mods to be able to watch them. Also today I have been confronted with another challenge, which never use to happen to me. This happened with me and and admin trying this system out for the Beta Modft! If you know what this means please let us know so we can look for a fix!5179cd03d034e_Error.png

I had the same problem a while ago. XFire didn't start the converting process.

I f this is the same:

you will find the video converter in you XFire folder. Launch it and and select the file you like to convert.

Tech I was talking about using the COD4 player not xfire. When I use xfire it goes all jumpy and crap. Not smooth and no audio!
