got a  max_map_draw_verts error while compiling then compiler stops

said something about exeeding max 53000 unlayered geomitries or some shit like that

when i looked that error up i didnt find anyone to solve the problem

 

any ideas?

you probably have to many terrain verts. You got a screen shot of your map ? The maximum allowable is 64,000 verts.

ya taking the cones out fixed the crash

 

but now im getting this error

labob i have hardly any terrain in my map however i do have alot of cylinders

no my walls are brushes not terrain

however i did figure the problem out i think

i took out a bunch of brushes

and the problem went away

im guessing i had too many brushes in the map?

all patches have verts... definately to many verts or a bad patch...

every corner on a brush is a vector. We need to remember how to get your bsp info in the cod 4 compiler. it will tell you how many verts you got. If you look at your map under the wire mess option you will see all the verts.

its a great looking design.....

I think its your pallets though.....

try making them bigger so it doesn't take so many?

or space them out with gaps between them you know?

you've got to cut down on the amount of corners....

I think that would help you also!

cut down on cornors by half i would say

error is gone

Ok Boomer sent it to me. On something like those pallets and the logs. Make them detail instead of structural. The tips of the logs would drive the compiler nuts if you left them all structural.
