Growing up in a family full of police officers, I know more than my share who havent came home and one of those was almost my brother. They never know if they will come home at the end of their shift or not. Today instead of cussing them, stop and shake their hand or thank them. I know we have a few here in this community of XI..so thank you!!!!!!!!(better yet, make this every day) FRENCHI, Giggles, MR.THJ and 2 others 5

We now have a National Police Memorial Day to remember those who laid their lives down in service in the UK and an annual National Police Bravery Awards event to recognise valour. I emerged from a thirty-year career with wounds that won't heal and will ultimately affect my longevity but look back with gratitude to those rare occasions when people I served offered their thanks. With all the criticism of police, these days, I think many people forget that most of us are/were motivated by a mission to make society and life better. Yes, "to protect and serve" sums it up succinctly. God bless, guide and protect those who stand between us and evil people. Angel and JohnnyDos 2 Awards
