The other day I saw a player who had a better kill number and a better death number who lost to a worse of both kill and death scores. We were discussing this on the server today and I have to tell you this really confuses me. Someone says that you get better scores by killing dogs. If so shouldn't it show in the score box? As it is it "appears" that the scoring is completely random and has no rhyme or reason. Would someone who actually knows and is not guessing please help straighten an old confused idiot out so he can leave his box in his corner and play WaW again? :P Just am super curious and would love to have some clarity on this question! Thank you!

I've seen the same thing, and the confusion that results from it on occasion.

So far as I know Dean the only thing that affects the final score is killing dogs, which adds (I believe) five points per slain dog. Likewise, I think, you get points for each player one of your dogs kills and I believe that shows up in your total kill points.

We might suggest a server change (if this is possible) where, you get points for each person your dogs kill, but, you don't get points for killing dogs - you kill them because if you don't, they will kill you. That way, your final position in each game should always correspond to your total kills.

You're penalized for suicides? Didn't know that. I do that in several maps with tunnels that take too long to find your way out of; and occasionally when I see Dean coming at me with his knife - not because he's going to cut me but because he's so damned ugly I'd rather be dead than face him head-on.

No more of that I guess.

But, since it's possible to eliminate points for killing dogs, what think about making that change folks?

Better, I think, to be ranked on how many people you kill in combat. And this would also ensure that if you kill more people than somebody else, you'll be first in the map, rather than getting knocked down a peg or two because somebody waited where the dogs emerge, and killed them as they came into the map (which I've also done on occasion.)
