Uh oh. Yesterday morning on startup chkdsk ran. Found some things. And fixed them. Ok no big deal. But it did it again this morning. Running diagnostics its the older of the two drives, at 500gb. But its the one with the OS, programs and some of the more important data storage. Seems there are bad sectors. So going to back stuff up and see if they can be fixed. Shame because I am not even sure this drive is out of warranty that long. As expected.

So in the long term looks like it will be time to get a new drive. Thinking maybe SSD for the OS and programs. 250 should be enough. They are still a bit pricey for me. Current standard HD 1tb for the storage. But how reliable are they?

I dont have an SSD. I am just curious how reliable they are in the long term. Their price is quite high for the amount of storage you get.

edit: Well did a bunch of reading this afternoon because I really dont know too much about them. For the price I am not particularly comfortable with them yet. So instead got a 2tb wb black.
