The BBC reports:

"James Horner, the Hollywood composer who wrote the Oscar-winning score for Titanic, has died in a California plane crash aged 61.

A trained pilot, he is reported to have been alone aboard a small private plane which crashed north of Santa Barbara on Monday morning.

The musician worked on three James Cameron films, as well as A Beautiful Mind, Braveheart, Troy and Apollo 13."

"James Horner has 95 soundtrack credits on the Internet Movie Database."

I was just checking to see if he did "The Gladiator" sound track with LIsa Gerrard's vocals which was amazing.

Negative on that but he has a credit of 95 other sound tracks.

A great talent lost RIP

I love to fly but have no desire to own or regularly fly in a small private plane. While I have never personally known anybody that has died in the crash of a commercial flight, I've known quite a few that have died in private planes and nearly did myself. My dad flew for a while when I was a kid, and we once lost power and barely made it back to the runway. My dad gave it up that day and never piloted a plane again.
