Today I attempted to get into the minecraft server, and I left my PC running in the hope it would connect.

After nearly 10 hours, it still said "logging in".

I've dedicated 4GB ram to the launcher (thanks to the guys that helped me with that). 8GB to jvascript. And 8GB to minecraft itself. Windows is left with 12GB to run without issues.

I've opened up all ports that minecraft uses, both TCP and UDP...and I just can't connect. The last 5 hours it was attempting to connect without anything running in the background but the basics.

Any and all help appreciated

Hello netphlix_n_chill,

There are plenty of users online today and the sever has been running normally. Maybe try and restart your computer and see if it connects. Don't wait more than 5 mins attempting a connection to the server,as that would be a waste of your time. It is better to stop the connection and retry to connect. than to let it sit trying to connect for long periods of time

Thanks. I'll try that later. Seems like every time I try, it either boots me off as I get in or it doesn't connect.

make sure your java and video drivers are up to date..they help a lot with game issues. the server is still running on ver 0.84 if that helps

PS: on another note 0.84af was release by the pack author as an April fools joke..make sure you are not using that version in the technic launcher

PSS: you also stated ......I've dedicated 4GB ram to the launcher (thanks to the guys that helped me with that)

that is fine to do. the rest is not necessary unless you run a server. Older intel graphics have a known issue with the latest versions of java 8. Older intel graphics and windows 10 have to use a specific java version to work.  That is java ver 1.8_25 64 bit only

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/java-archive-javase8-2177648.html#jre-8u25-oth-JPR

If you still have issues

1.close the launcher

2, delete java and restart the pc

3. Install java 64 bit offline  version from the site

http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

if you have nvidia or amd graphics...older intel graphics see above info for correct java version

4. restart the launcher and open options

5. select the correct java version in options

6. select amount of ram java will use in options..... 4gb is usually enough... you can go higher if you choose..no more than 70% of system ram should be selected

7. close options and open the 1.7.10 pack

8. select multiplayer and then add server

9. enter the following ip to connect to the XI server   192.95.22.174:25565

If you're still having troubles let me know. Sounds like a player data issues. I can delete it and should allow you to reenter without issue but to do that I will need your exact player name. Let me know.
