After much deliberation I went with the LG. It was on sale %30 off so that is a plus.

Much better to have two monitors of the same size. My previous was an old 1080p asus that was significantly smaller. It was convenient for the added screen space for some things. But not as good as I would have liked. Desk is pretty small but its an old oak desk that is kind of a family heirloom. But a smaller space means you need to keep it all tidy and not full of stuff. The new LG is the one with Jack.

What are you running ?  Autodesk Maya ?  Always wanted to mess with it.  Im familiar with AutoCAD, from my CNC days.  I have a 3d Printer which I put together, but have not used yet.  Still need to install the Z axis touch probe.  Life keeps me busy.  But animation has always fascinated me.  On the monitors, I use to use 2 monitors in my music studio, but switched to a 40" 4K TV.  I just run several large scale windows with it.  I do need to get a better video card for it though.  My current is a few years old and will not max out the TV's max resolution.  Issue is I need a passive cooled GPU, due to fan noise.  And I have not checked lately to see what's available.

Maya on the right, substance painter on the left.

These days for a gpu, I would say nothing is different now than it was 6 months ago. At least it seems that way to me. One of the reasons for getting a new gpu, eventually, is that substance painter is a little flaky with old ones in certain texture channels. Like it does in my old one. Might try 3dcoat or armorpaint.
