Mako sharks are notorious for this a buddy of mine lost a toe like this the shark was just a 4 footer but it did this at night and he was 110 miles offshore -

we lost a grander (1000lbs +) blue finn tuna last year faught this fish for 4 hours did the death roll 4 times 15k fish lost. If anyone wants to fish NE on a charter boat i can hook you up with a few good charter guys that will get you on fish. Not a big charter boat 30 foot 4 guy boat. i too lost a salty and said never again lost about 5k in fish and eels. Parasites from a store we bought fish from wiped the whole damn tank. We had that same shrimp we called him Rodney cause he got no respect one of the fish would pick him to the top of the tank and let him go the fish liked watching him fall.

I still say there is something on her PC like adware or spyware that is tapping into there internet the only true cleaner i have found to get rid of everything is COMBOFIX but be very very care full with this as you can do damage. If you dont want to take this path how about figuring out on or around the date it started and do a system restore to before that date.
