That briarwood is some really hard stuff. I hope you have the right tools and a lot of patience. I've burned up my fair share of tools and blades cutting through seasoned hardwoods over the years. A few years ago I burned up my table saw motor trying to rough out a black walnut burl. If you're good at carving and want to experiment a little, try getting a piece of catlinite (pipestone) and playing around with it. Much easier to work with than some woods and it comes in many colors from bright red to black and white. I have friends that have made some very interesting ceramic bowls too.

I did a search in the forums and found no record of you ever have being a member, and your profile says that you've been a registered user on the web site since 2009 but only have 2 posts in the forums. Since people applying for membership are required to have at least 25 posts on the forums, I'm doubtful if you ever were a member. Regardless if you were once a member and lost your tags from inactivity, or if you never actually were a member you will need to go through the process which is outlined on the home page of the web site.
