  1. Be safe everyone! I'll be watching developments via the news channels and praying you are not adversely affected. (I have family in northern New York State so have more than a casual interest!) Live news stream from ABC on Sandy: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/video/live-news-6046305
  2. The air is too damned cold outside (in fact it was too damned cold inside this morning, waking me up!). Now up to a toasty 4C at least! Thanks for the update - time to fire up the downloader...
  3. Pleased there are no major waves yet. No doubt the authorities err on the side of caution after the Indonesian tragedy.

  5. Happy Birthday! Hope you enjoy your special day! (What a lot of candles on your cake!) http://youtu.be/fBgyXXnbfBc
  6. Whilst I have not consciously sought to imitate anyone else, I have been compared with this fellow...
  7. Don't forget that british Summer Time ends tomorrow morning at 0200 when the clocks should be put back one hour. So at 0200 BST it becomes 0100 GMT!

  8. Very sad news indeed and I offer my condolences to you and your family. May the love in which you are enveloped help you in this dark time...
  9. (At the risk of a ban - in the circumstances I don't care...) Father of goodness and love, hear our prayers for the sick members of our community and for all who are in need. Amid mental and physical suffering may they find consolation in your healing presence. Show your mercy as you close wounds, cure illness, make broken bodies whole and free downcast spirits. May these special people find lasting health and deliverance, and so join us in thanking you for all your gifts. We ask this through the Lord Jesus who healed those who believed. Amen.
  10. Yes, mon ami, it is time to take the medication!
  11. G'day and welcome!
  12. Bravo, Rusty! An excellent rendition of the Clapton classic!
  13. The way to a woman's heart is through her stomach. The problem you have is that your meal will be very cold by the time it touches down in an aircraft hold in Michigan... (You could always enclose microwave instructions?)
  14. I played for two hours plus, last night, on the Grand Bazaar map, had got 26 kills (68 deaths!), loads of ribbons and a medal then my connection dropped and I lost the lot (including the promotion that came with the points). I wasn't very happy and don't call that entertainment. For UK users having to rely on British Telecom's crappy broadband, high tickets are unsuitable so I shan't be back in that server.
  15. Roasted potatoes, cooked in goose fat...
  16. They're one of the local area's best exports. IIRC, my son's school kept some on their farm too. With all the rain we've had, the grazing has been good for them at least. I have to confess that when I pass the fields in which they graze, I think of a roasting oven and mint sauce!
  17. I am more than happy to listen to you, Rusty - you are obviously a very competent musician and singer. Having listened to some of your work, I can understand when you said the Bon Jovi number was difficult for you. Though a sound performance, it did sound a little strained as if you were testing the limits of your vocal range. You did very well to keep it in tune throughout, I thought. The dilemma for performers, when covering the work of others, is how much to make the song their own rather than mimic or impersonate the original artist. Very often an alternative arrangement of a song achieves this. If the song is well known, it would still be recognised but the different tempo and voice would distinguish it. (Example below) Do you compose your own material? It'd be interesting to listen to some of that too if you'd like to share it. Good luck with your musical aspirations! http://youtu.be/b5JCpgZWOfU
  18. Perhaps some of you keep livestock or have worked on farms so I thought that you might be interested in the famous breed of sheep that originated on the marsh here... http://www.romneysheepuk.com/#/breed-history/4524496266
  19. It seems the Origin problem was temporary as all appears normal today. The potential solution you suggested had been tried by others who reported that it did not work. (I went in search of the option to do this and could not locate it, suspecting that one actually has to have BF3 running to try it...)
  20. I wondered what AmboyDuke was doing these days...
  21. http://youtu.be/u9emjalsOsE
  22. Wish I could join you in the game but Origin is broken. I cannot even load BF3 as the cloud sync freezes at 5%. The net is full of angry people...and I am one of them!
