I am more than happy to listen to you, Rusty - you are obviously a very competent musician and singer.
Having listened to some of your work, I can understand when you said the Bon Jovi number was difficult
for you. Though a sound performance, it did sound a little strained as if you were testing the limits of your vocal
range. You did very well to keep it in tune throughout, I thought. The dilemma for performers, when covering the
work of others, is how much to make the song their own rather than mimic or impersonate the original artist.
Very often an alternative arrangement of a song achieves this. If the song is well known, it would still be recognised
but the different tempo and voice would distinguish it. (Example below)
Do you compose your own material? It'd be interesting to listen to some of that too if you'd like to share it.
