Yesterday's games were crazy! Enormous fun! For those who couldn't make it, here's a small taste of the absolute mayhem. (No, someone hasn't dropped an acid tab in your coffee!)

Sonovabich It don't matter what game it is, there are alway's lots of patches, just look at all the cod games, they were'nt perfect either, but i played today and i don't see any new patch, neither anybody else i talked to seen a new patch yet? If the servers only are being patched, would we, the players necessarily notice any difference?

God rest you, Killa, fallen brother. Though I never knew you, your memory lives on and inspires us. We hope we do you proud tonight and always, as Xtreme idiots! Let the games commence!

Shamu DEEJAYKEG How anyone can rejoice about red plastic drinking receptacles is beyond me. It's not just the receptacle but the atmosphere in which it is used, some places in Texas glass can be a hazard or accident waiting to happen. Just cannot top a red plastic cup! Besides, as you well know, we statesider's do not exhibit proper English mannerisms. Here, we call it "etiquette", old chap! You see, having battled and bested the French, we even mock them by borrowing their word (meaning 'label') for good manners! (I wait with cannons primed for the retort of Exe, Frenchi and Olive at least! I hope they'll stilll let us use their aircraft carriers as we have turned ours into tin cans such is the need for canned beer in these islands. Life under the Lefties was much more pleasant - we were broke but at least we still had a navy...)

Good luck, mate! There's nothing as much fun as a home build but, especially if the main board documentation is lacking, it become a bit of an adventure sometimes... Watch the timings - don't do an unintentional overclock! I've actually fared better with "Frankensteins" - refurbs I have bought and upgraded or old shop-bought machines I have ripped the guts out of. If you have a bunch of brand new components, you need a "nurse" standing at the side to mop the brow as you operate! Can't beat the "Eureka" moment when the new beast springs into life for the first time, though! What a geek rush!

I play more for amusement (in my usual idiotic style!) so the k/d and points usually stay low but I do laugh! I was playing "away" on a UK server, the other day, and a passenger in my heli', who was a member of the hosting clan, obviously hadn't experienced an "Idiot" pilot... I use helis as air taxis in Conquest, hopping from flag to flag till some tank takes me out, prompting him to ask, "WTF are you doing?!" LOL! My current ambitions are to see how far onto land I can get a RHIB (so far, I have only managed to get one partly into a building) and to carry out a successful suicide boat mission using an M15 mine!

I'm going to chuck this out for discussion... Take a look at the Tehran Highway Conquest 64 map and, in particular, the location of the US base which is where I am going to be talking about... Around the southern end of the base are a number of floodlights and, last night, I was continually sniped from the top of one of them upon which no less than FOUR opposing "Recon" players had camped. Firstly, how the hell did they manage to ascend the mast? (I'd guess one managed it and planted a spawn beacon??) Secondly, they were not only invisible to players on the ground but invulnerable. The bright lights shielded them and an IR scope was useless too. As there are no aircraft on that map, what strategy would you suggest to counter this apparently unfair advantage? Has anyone managed to take them out with an RPG, for example? (The preferred knife kill and seizure of dog tags isn't an option in this scenario unfortunately.)

Making kids feel sad or uncomfortable for the purposes of "entertainment" isn't just wrong but abusive...

How anyone can rejoice about red plastic drinking receptacles is beyond me. Plastic "glasses" are scourge on humanity. Earlier, this year, I couldn't even take a real glass of beer outside the pub to sit by the river and watch the salmon fishermen at play. It had to be one of the plastic ones, presumably in case the excitement got the better of me! There is one way to drink beer and that is from a glass (note: NOT the neck of an opened bottle!) When I go to Wembley Stadium and buy a (plastic) bottle of water, I am not allowed to drink from it - its contents must be poured into a plastic cup. (Have you worked out yet that, unlike Exe, I do not enjoy getting up in the morning and am inevitably grumpy when I do... )

Tested the game - runs OK still. Think I have updated the maps with XI Downloader but several 50MB+ files came down when I connected to the XI DM server so I don't know... I'll be there! If it's 2pm CST that makes it 8pm GMT and 9pm CET, right?

I see that some are using Xfire when playing BF3. I'd welcome any observations about its performance and any apparent problems with it, now it has been updated to cope with DX10/DX11 games. Specifically, will our game Admins be using this program within BF3 now? Thanks.

I vote for all maps on Conquest 64. Not too fussed about the HC server as I don't like Rush a great deal.

Yes, good idea. I can imagine the reaction of someone who has been queuing patiently then finds they are kicked immediately on joining the game, probably before the console warns them they could be kicked to allow a clan member in. Could an Admin advise whether there is this facility for password-protected slots or is this something we need to suggest to DICE/EA via feedback?

Have you noticed a side effect of this is that your player rank and stats on the enjin.com sig are wrong? If you've ranked up today, it looks like you've been demoted again!

tsw 8.5 now it is telling my password is not right ..what Don't sweat tsw' - this is a common problem. Some like me just get the message that the authentication server is down, whilst others like you get the "who wants to log in? don't know ya!" kind!

The latest gem on Twitter is "EA's back-end (sic) is experiencing technical difficulties...". I think that's technical jargon for a "pain in the a**e"!

2cuteSue - Redirect? anyway of getting a redirect from the 64 slot to the 32 slot? just wondering? might keep the 32 slot full alot more!! Perhaps some people prefer playing Conquest Large to Rush... (I know I do).
