CHKN i loved all the steelseries mouses i had ikary lazer and optical, and the tiny but really fun to use kinzu (this one got the same shape as the sensei, but way smaller) i would have bought the sensei if i didnt get this logitec G400 like 2 weeks before the sensei was released that sensei mouse is just superb, design side. now i cant talk about the rest as i dont have it. but i guess its a good mouse like lot steelseries mouses Santa Claus is bringing me one! Wonder if it'll improve my play...

I can't connect to either XI server because they are running v1.2 and the update took my copy of the game to 1.3.362... How long does it take for the updates to trickle down to the servers?

PrimalFear I agree Deejay but ALL auto-updaters should be turned off when gaming imo (eg Realplayer, Adobe, Windows Update, Nvidia or ATI etc). My suggestion would be to pick a day of the month or week to manually update your programs and save the resources. There isn't anything that critical that it needs to check for an update several times a day. I use Turbo Mode of TuneUp Utilities to shut down all non-essential background tasks. The one thing it cannot stop, however, is the behaviour of browser add-ons. Because the Battle Log in BF3 is browser-based, one can get the odd annoying "an update is available for your toolbar" message in the middle of your game screen. That, however, doesn't halt the game but just your ability to play till you dismiss the dialogue.

Then the Conquest 64 server went down but with an EA network message. Another non-XI server on my favourites list also disappeared at the same time. The network crash must have taken many if not all servers down. A lot of points and a new gun lost...

It doesn't like Steam either, so, if you play any Steam games (MW3) before BF3, best to shut that down too. (I forgot, Steam performed some updates and my game froze.) Afterwards had a trouble-free evening (apart from RickJames sniping my a**!).

Hans - BF3 shutdown ingame :/ As of last night I'm getting BF3 closed during the rounds. This happened about 3 times in a folder. After one day with this mess I have made ??are now done with these interruptions. It's not my internet connection I'm on cable and not wireless. Also I get no other reports that my connection is lost. Just that I always get interrupted with baltlelog. I have all updates done on my computer so it can only origin are causing problems and I've already reinstalled .. HELP I need a fix for the game this saterday when not i can not play :/ Have you any other programs in the background that are running (other than Teamspeak)? BF3 does not like other programs working and taking its resources, I suspect. Turn off/ delay scheduled AV and maintenance tasks. I use Turbo Mode of TuneUp Utilities to shut down all unnecessary processes before playing now.

In an effort to keep the game running, I've dialed the resolution way back down to 1024x768 yet the game looks no different to me. Why would that be? What does "native" mean??

Merlin007 Where is the fun in that! The fun and challenge is earning the extra stuff. I have heard of COD servers where you can gain extra points but 100k in a single game, holy crap. Oh ya, and to post a you tube video of it, duh! It was amazing last night how many players using our server were banned for using aimbots! Good to see that the cheats are being so readily weeded out!

The video shows how it works - it needs a cheat and a buddy of a cheat! The word is that those who do this will find they can no longer play MP once the first patch arrives... Be warned, be aware and be kind to the EOD robots!
