Thanks guys! Missed this thread before, but wasn't having issue until using this temp PC while away from home PC. Knew there was some explaination.

Been getting a new error in COD DM server. States "Hunk Allocate Temp Memory - total 160 MB, 1 low, 158 high, needs more hunk bytes". Get with just a few of the maps. Can play some, but then no more reason than this error. Sounds like some others may be getting it, but playing on temp laptop while out of town, so not sure and have no mike.

And more (still stuck in this hotel - getting battle withdrawls! You can bet I'll be in the servers tomorrow night!)!!

Nothing so creative here, but a short story. Played LAN games at work for years with many, including my boss, NicktheGrip. Started with the old original 'Duke-Nukem' (Man I loved that FPS game - to bad it fell of the gaming world), Unreal Tounament, COD, CODUO, then COD2. Then the new prick management took away our games - booooohooooo! (I guess our German company didn't like us shooting the Germans...again!) Anyway, I started out with a few oddball names and eventually used "Hungarian Assassin". But then one of the games limited the name length and Assassin stopped at "Ass", which wasn't so good being a dude! One of my co-workers by then was calling me Lt. Laszlo (which is my real first name), so I've been LtLaszlo ever since. BTW, you'll see my brother in COD2 CTF occassionally, "Crazed Hungarian" and my son "LtTravis" (though Travis is usually in COD4 or MW2). Like BudSR, it's become a family affair!

Good game! Could've went either way....now admit it. And as I recall, we won the first one. (Shouldn't there be a tie breaker or something?! LOL!) Hat's off, though and congrats to them! Was a great game, with the tie with seconds left in regulation. Was a nail biter for sure! Next time you won't be on home ice!!

A while ago, my PC crashed, so had to re-format. I re-installed with Windows 7 as my new OS but found issues with severe lag, even in COD2, though I never had lag issues before with it. Thought I might need to give up on 7 after much "tweaking" to solve (video card updates, settings, etc.). Then noticed that in my running processes, there were three occurrences of Xfire running. Also found that entering COD2 through Xfire always lost my profile and made me setup again - every time. Not sure why this is happening, so just letting you all know why I'm not using Xfire. I use it to see who's playing what and drop a messae, but close before a get into games - I prefer in game talking. Also notice it plays MUCH better without Xfire running. BTW, in the processes, it says I'm running a 32 bit version and a 64 bit? I only installed once since crash, so why would it be running 32? Strange.

And thanks, now I feel better since I manage to "hold my own" against some of your super PC's. An older Gateway and added decent Video and more RAM. And a good cable speed helps. Thanks, WiZiD. But not necessary. Besides, it would mean the entire PC and I can't live without it..LOL. I AM BACK! A BIG BIG thanks to Loader - YOU DA MAN! Turns out it was the RAM. Pulled out two 512Meg cards and system worked fine after that. Sadly I lost stuff and wouldn't have had to, but on the other hand my 250G was almost full of a lot of crap I really didn't need. And, as I said, fortunately burned most family pics to DVD. (Porn is easy to get again!!) Lost some email and few things, but now have a "NEW" super system again (considering its age and just a Gateway) except I'll need to replace that RAM card. I'll need the 2MEG max my system can handle to keep up with you all!! And thanks to boss NICKTHEGRIP>XI<....this Windows 7 seems awesome. Like it already! Next up, get my emal installed, then COD2, Xfire and COD5 installed!! Maybe see you tonite on the fields....latest tomorrow!! Thanks again to you all!!

Thanks for all the help and offers of help. Too late on the format. Already formatted and re-installed Windows XP and still same error. Won't run Windows for fear of "damaging" my PC. Bummer I lost some stuff I wanted to keep, but overall maybe a good thing since most I'll probably never look at again anyway (I'm a "pack-rat" that way). But I will get an external HD to keep valuable stuff in the future. Luckily, most family pics were burnt to DVD...wheeew! Anyway, my boss, NICKTHE GRIP>XI<, has hooked me up with Windows 7 - will try tonight and hope to be back on battlefiled this weekend. So, hopefully it's smarter than XP and can work around problem - unless it's hardware. Doesn't seem to be, since everything seems to work. Only when it tries to fire up Windows XP does it crap out. I'll try the RAM thing loader, I hadn't thought of that. But did try other vid card, cleaning out dust, disconnecting un-necessary periphials, etc. Awesome, work blocker is letting me though today Thanks again!!

Well, it finally happened! Just as I was preparing to get a back up hard drive, my PC just got the "blue screen of death"! So. obviously been missing the action the last couple nights. Odd one, since system seems to work. I've re-formatted the C: drive and re-installed Windows (XP), but still getting blue screen. Says nothing to point to fix, so not sure when I'll be back Heard the site had an issue...was it a virus? This happened day after I saw an adware BS come up trying to get to XI? Anyone else having problems. DAMMIT! Lost everything...years of email, photos, etc. AHHHHHHHHHH. Hope to be back soon!!
