Fortunate enough to have moved from being too close to Detroit and to outskists where I'm now on one of our many lakes here in Michigan (Lake Fenton). I'm a Lead Electrical Engineer for an Automotive Supplier and been there 32 years (all of my adult life). Supply everything from simple conveyors to industrial washers and test and asembly equipment. We are mainly in Engine and Transmission plants all over the world. German company that also has big division of auto painting - in paint plants, of course). We're right across from CrackXI's "mother ship", the Chrysler Tech Center in lovely Auburn Hills, Michigan (home of the Detroit Pistons). Ya, Michigan's been hurting for some time, but some light coming. Thanks to government GM bailout, most of our work for next few years is with them. Yeah....and they paid back loan early!! But it's SLOOOWW in coming and will likely never be the same. Also in Ford, Chrylser, Cummins, Caterpillar plants. Anyone that makes an engine. Side note: I work with NicktheGrip>XI<, who also is a Lead Electrical Engineer/Manager.

Hey VanHelsing...we're nearly neighbors! I'm in Fenton, Michigan on lovely Lake Fenton. Lived many years in various suburbs of Detroit, but moved out of that area to the even more un-employed, recessed area of Flint! Work for a German company (Durr) and have had many nice trips to Germany - love it there. Usually a layover in Amsterdam which makes it even better...hehehe!! If I lived any where else, it might be the state of Washington - had a few nice vacations there, also. Too bad no jobs in my field there. NIce topic all!! Good to know you all better!!

Thanks for remembering my Birthday....though off one day (it's actually the 17th) Wife asked what I wanted....told her a night of gaming/killin you all with no complaining I'm on the PC again!! We'll see if I get my wish Monday night!! Hehehehe!! BTW...what's the verdict on BFBC2? Been thinking about getting it (maybe for B-day to self), but only seen a couple videos on it.

I wa hoping there was some solution because this has been very annoying not to mentioned making it tougher to kill you all Changed the setting, but yet to see results later. I only noticed this, though, in COD2. My ping seems constant in COD5.

See KICKASS! Didnt know what to think, but went with bunch of buddies after a few cold brews and was freakin hilarious! 11 year old girl stole the lead role. Like Zombieland, which was also full of bloody gore and humor!! For more serious dramatic movie, try Edge of Darkness, which is also pretty good with Mel in his older years and an older role!

Welcome Greener! Been fun playing ya in the COD5 DM server! I have to ask about the name - is it a reference to weed, like a few others in the clan?! You know, "mines greener than yours". And will kick your ass!! LOL

Thanks for listening Rugger! I forget half the dang names, other than many of the "original" maps released. Beltot (farmhouse) and yes, the Indiana Jones ones are nice old favs. St. Mere Eglis, while a great map, has been up there FOREVER! But there have been so many, including some in the DM server now, I can't remember the names. I'll try to get a list of some we've had before that were good. Seems like a long time since some new maps arrived on the COD2 CTF server. Notice attendance has been very light lately - many are in the DM server (Pete, Blindowl, Little Old Man - CTF regulars!). A few CTF maps have people bailing early, like Complex, Clarvioux, Desert Idiots). Got to be some old favs to put back up - Beltot, Indy and some that are now up in the DM server are also CTF maps. Missing the CTF game and hoping attendance goes back up! DM is good once in a while, but lack of strategy and teamwork makes it "ho-hum"! Just an opinion!! I know: "Opinions are like assholes....everyone has one"!

And now another interesting developement... if I go in through Xfire, it works. But when I play with Xfire, the lag is horrible and to bad to play, which is why I have been closing Xfire before palying any COD game or server. Guess my PC has all it can handle running Windows 7 now. Hmmmmm? Guess I'll play DM in W@W and CTF in the COD2 CTF server, like I have since being a member! And, occassionally COD2 TDM.

OK, so I give up on the HunkMegs error I was getting on the work PC.s while out of town. All your suggested fixes didn't work since I couldn't seem to change the value from 160. So I get back home to my PC. COD W@W works fine and COD2, CTF works fine, but when I try to play COD2 DM, the maps starts to load, then blacks out indefiunately. Any ideas on this one? I've deleted several old folders, but same result. Also found I can get in the other two XI servers - no problem getting into XI TDM and the XI Area 51 DM. The problem is only with the DM server IP 8.9.37.132 - maps display for 2-3 seconds, then disappears indefinately? Anyone seen this?

Well, I'm wondering since this is a "work" laptop if there are some restrictions. I have tried numerous times, changing the resolution as explained in previous threads and I CAN NOT change this value from 160. It states it will change upon restarting, but stays at 160. It also states the 'latched value' is 256, but game still gives the error for some maps. Oh well, be home in three days and back to my PC. (I miss her!!) Thanks for the help though all...it is greatly appreciated.
