  1. It has been my experience in BF3 that people with high pings have a MAJOR advantage unlike any game I have ever seen. Just a few days ago I was in our server with Cavey and WildBill, Cavey was standing in a doorway close to point blank range, I unloaded an ENTIRE clip into him, RELOADED and dumped half of the second clip in him before he finally died. Keep in mind this was point blank and he hadn't moved. He respawned and came back to the same area and I fired at him again and still couldn't hit him (although this time he was moving) and he turned and killed me, I left the server in frustration. I know that Heffalump has had this exact same problem in our server with some high pingers, he could not hit them. The other day Iron and myself were playing TDM and a guy was afk standing in a corner, I shot him with a 100 round LMG also at point blank range and he did not die. I started to reload and then said screw it, and threw a nade on him. He then came back to his keyboard while I was reloading my LMG and turned and killed me only 1 second before my nade blew him up. I hit tab and "YEP" look at that, ping over 200+, its an unfair condition for everyone. BTW my ping on this server was "18". Any ping over 150 I notice that I shoot at someone and I get hit confirmation on my crosshair and then they turn and shoot me and after killcam I see they have ZERO damage! Even though I know my shot was lined up and I got confirmation that I had hit them, Very frustrating. I have also noticed that when they kill you it is very weird and lagged, like you will be getting hit as you're running around a corner and then crouch and reload and all of a sudden several seconds later you hear that "zip" sound and you die even though there is no possible way their bullets could have hit you around the corner. Or on occasion high pingers almost seem to kill you before they have fired a shot, just instant death. Whatever they use for anti-lag is an epic fail, high pingers should have the DISadvantage not the advantage. I know there are people that purposely make machine adjustments to raise their pings on purpose to achieve a ping "sweet spot", I have seen alot of guides explaining what and how to do it. Negativity is not the purpose of this post, but the ping issue is a major problem with this game and I wish DICE would fix it or turn off whatever it's using for anti-lag, because it doesn't work. It's a massively unfair condition.
  2. This is great info Astro I already have BF3 but I just looked at it and some other games are also 50% off, I just might bite on that, that's an epic deal Thanx for the post dude, awesome
  3. I don't really know what BAFTA is, but whoever posted that convoluted article, posted the transcripts backwards, so to make it easy, I read it from bottom to top and posted the DICE part Battlefield 3 = Best Online Multiplayer, Best Sound Quality and Game Award of 2011 9.24pm: Next up is the award for Audio Achievement. Nominees are: Batman (again!), Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3, dead Space 2, The Nightjar and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. 9.25pm: And the award goes to DICE's Battlefield 3. The EA-published game was particularly notable for its sound design, which outshone its competitors with a gritty, visercal soundtrack that rivalled Hollywood's finest. Led by audio director Stefan Strandberg, the DICE team recorded audio for the game during a live military exercise, and this commitment to their craft clearly paid off. 9.42pm: It's time for the Game Award of 2011. This is somehow different to the Best Game award, but we're not quite sure how, other than the fact that the winner gets a purple Bafta, rather than a bronze one. Nominees are: Batman, BF3, Modern Warfare 3, FIFA 2012, L.A. Noire, Minecraft, Portal 2, Skyrim, Zelda and Uncharted 3. 9.44pm: And the award goes to Battlefield 3. That's perhaps the first 'upset' of the night, as DICE's shooter was a game of two halves, only one of which was critically-acclaimed. Still, the multiplayer portion of the military FPS must have won enough fans on the Bafta panel to snatch the award from big hitters Minecraft and Portal 2. 10.15pm: Online Multiplayer up first. Nominees are: Assassin's Creed Revelations, Battlefield 3, MW3, Dark Souls, Gears of War 3 and, finally, LittleBigPlanet 2 10.16pm: And the award goes to Battlefield 3 from the Stockholm-based DICE. Again, a shame this one didn't go to From Software's Dark Souls which enjoys the most innovative multiplayer of 2011. Hmm. What do you lot reckon? That's cool stuff Deejay, thanx for info
  4. +1 I agree it would go well with the 32 normal core server, I don't play hardcore so I haven't payed much attention to what that segment prefers. 24/7 servers seem to do a lot better than mixed servers do. 24/7 TDM or SQDM with high action maps would be good, but only one or the other not both. There is really no place for vehicles in those game types, so I agree with that point as well. It would also set us up for easy transition for the new close combat maps (assuming their not limited to 16 players) as well. And would be easy to populate and keep full. The limited number of explosives your talking about is a plugin that could be added, I've seen it used in 24/7 Metro servers to promote gameplay without nade spam, pretty cool idea to limit them instead of just a yes or no iron fist thing. I'd imagine it would be easy enough to accomplish. So yeah, sounds good to me, you have my vote
  5. Total time played 217hrs (rounded down) Total Time US Team 94hrs (rounded up) Total Time RU Team 87hrs (rounded up) Total Time combined 181hrs 217 hours -181 hours 36 hours So what team did I play on for the other 36hrs?
  6. Rumor is it's only 16 player though If that's true, I don't know what the hell DICE is thinking. The next one in the fall looks like it might be better though, with the largest map ever released in Battlefield history and new vehicles to boot, I'm aiming alittle higher and holding out for that one
  7. Awesome, looking forward to the stats, thanx for the info
  8. Ok, I may be missing something here but what exactly is the list for? Well it's kind of 3 things in one but I think you found a solution that I only realized after I was able to think about it more (alot going on right now) which is typical of you, I can't even count the number of times you just post a solution that is way better than the alternative for me. Anyway to answer what the list does: 1 - look up BF3 admins (xfire problems with BF3 makes Origin a useful alternative to contacting an admin) 2 - add members to join up with 3 - I have been working on a solution to the BF3 VIP system, when that system is functional, I was going to use that list to add all the members to it. The list would make it so that any person on that list trying to enter one of our servers, would automatically enter the server even if it was full, it would kick someone not on that list to make room, which would make it easier for members to enter the server without having to request an admin's help to make room for them. It would do that automatically based on their Origin ID. But your suggestion is way better than it currently is for all this, if an Origin ID could be placed in the members profile and a separate page with a consolidated list of those Origin ID's, similar to the xFire page we had on the other site existed, then it would be updated by each member instead of just me. That would mean far less work for me comparing ID's in Origin and matching them up on that list, while still accomplishing all 3 tasks. Members would still be able to find admins and other members. Brilliant! So your suggestion is a brilliant solution to this, I didn't even know that it was an option, I still would like to be able to edit and delete my own posts but at least this alternative not only solves the problem, it would create a superior condition. Thank you very much, sorry, it took me a bit to consider it further than I had when I first read it. I'll make a separate thread requesting this.
  9. Sorry Harry but your wrong, This was a huge issue on the old platform, consider the issue that we had we when a post called "Who wants to be a post whore" was deleted by the topic starter, the topic was in place on the site for near on 6 months, lots of users had contributed posts to this topic however short or silly they may have been, some users made over 200 replies to this topic, when the topic started deleted the topic, this also deleted ALL replies made to that topic so some users post counts went down by over 200 posts which is certainly an issue, This is the reason that this platform has been configured to allow a time frame where a started topic or a reply post can be edited before it becomes none editable, I personally have no problem with increasing this time frame if need be but I actually think that to save the integrity and content that our members contribute, this is actually a good idea, In the cases of topics like the "Game Names" topic, there is no reason why we can't add whatever game name or xfire name or steam name you want as a field in users profiles, we can create any number of custom fields in a users profile so threads like these really no longer need to be posted in the forums, just make a request in the Website Discussion forums and any field you want can be added. Editing and Deleting are two different issues. The current list has over 70 members listed, and at last count that I saw we had over 400 members, are you suggesting that I go through all 400 members weekly to verify if they changed their names or recently added one by purchasing BF3 because of a post whore medal?
  10. Please do that, and in this particular case it is not limited to just members being able to contact admins through Origin as well as find other team members, that list will be used to add members to the BF3 VIP slot list, which will give members priority on the servers when the server is full, when operational, essentially what it would do is kick someone not on the VIP list to make room for one that is. If a member is not on that list, that member could be kicked to make room for another. Additionally, it's not just adding people to the list, people change their names and that information also needs to be updated. Thank you for the speedy reply +1 I thought this was an adult clan. Why should a person not be permitted to edit their post at any time? I see no benefit to this at all, if someone posted something that needed admin attention and it was edited or deleted that would only assist the admins in not having to respond to it at all. Please change this for all the reasons listed, we should be able to edit or delete our own posts at will. Many of the pages on this site in the past have required edits, like tourney update info, schedules, etc without having to go through 100 posts to get the relevant information.
  11. I'm not nagging, but I want to report that I keep the "List of XI Game Names" for BF3 up to date, I'm still not able to edit the list. http://www.xtremeidiots.com/index.php?/topic/21527-list-of-xi-game-names/ I was just hoping for an update on this issue, I can be patient, I would just like to know it has not been forgotten. You guys have done a great job with the website and have done well correcting the problems, just looking for an update because my responsibility is falling behind. I hope you know I'm asking this with respectful intentions in mind.
  12. Teamspeak has separate channels for the 64, 32 and 16 slot servers, there is also a main BF3 channel like a lobby. I'm sure that those that use TS are aware of that, but because we have such a large group of friends that like to just "shoot the breeze" about anything under the sun, they prefer to use the BF3 main channel sometimes, it wasn't long ago that I was in there and was enjoying listening to two XI members discuss the history of Rome and how it ultimately collapsed. I would suggest just inviting fellow members to join you in the respective channel, but often our friendly clanmates just like talking about life in general and they don't find a need to join a "specific" channel, it's all up to you and them. I wouldn't go so far as to say anyone "should" be in any specific channel, I say whatever you enjoy doing, you should do it. I'm just glad to see people in there having fun.
  13. Hate to give you two of these in two days, but I noticed several people are able to edit their posts, but I'm not able to. It did say I didn't have permission, now the edit button is completely gone. Additionally some very recent topics in the admin section are locked for some reason and I can't reply to them.
  14. Yeah I wasn't going to complain about that since I was just happy to view the posts, but if its an easy fix it would be nice to not have to click the button on every page every time. No complaints, just agreeing
  15. Yes the Fix button solved it, it's wonderful now, thank you very very much I still have really bad FPS with this setup, but at least I can read the posts and don't have to wait for it to catch up with my reading -
  16. I can't find any settings to change my website display, the entire top 1/3 of the screen is taken up by the clan logo and links. (see picture) When I created this topic, I literally clicked in the box to start typing and I had to scroll UP to see the cursor because it was spammed out behind the logo before I even started typing anything. I can't reduce the size of the display (control + or -) or the text gets too small and I can't read it. To make matters worse, I'm getting like 1 FPS and it takes me longer to scroll through the messages than it does to read them. Thankfully everything is very similar to the previous website, or I would be lost and wouldn't be able to find anything, how do I fix all this? This is what it looks like: As you can see, my viewable area is only a very small fraction of what it should be. I'm already zoomed out and the posts don't even touch the edges of the screen. How do I fix this? I love the BF3 background btw, don't want to make it sound all bad lol I just can't navigate currently. I'll patiently await a reply, I've exhausted my resources and don't know what else to do. Thank you in advance for any help.
  17. I will pray for her to be ok, we have amazing medical technology and I know they can help her though this. What a scary thing for such a little one, she is in our thoughts and prayers. And prayers for you and the family as well Spears, take care.
  18. Cavey Hmmm I know I fancy my chances of staying live in the UK more than in the US, that's for sure!!! Havin a gun in the US is mainly based on paranoia, rather than for sport. Having a gun in the US is not just "mainly" but "entirely" based on the Constitutional Right to do so. You can use a gun for sport, I guess if you like that kind of thing, but that's not why we have them. Criminals in the UK have guns whether you have one or not, I just saw a story in the news not long ago about people being gunned down in the streets of Britain. They both smuggle them in the country from other countries AND they make them there themselves out of replica guns as well as other things. All true. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2648517/Firearms-thug-used-Jason-Bourne-and-Jack-Bauer-as-aliases.html Just one example, I'm too busy right now to go into it further, but it's true that you have guns there, just not in the hands of people that follow the law. I prefer it to be the other way around personally, but that's just me. Here's another one, but I gotta go, have a good one: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/6054264.stm
  19. tsw 8.5 WHAT NO ONE LIKES BOOBS ok those are not Double D's, those are a large A, maybe a very small B, sorry for the lag time response TS I was busy thinking about double D's Angel I love my dds!! So do I Angel, so do I - and I want to shake your Daddy's hand, he's done a great service to this country
  20. PimpedOutPete lol.. This is the same article from a few weeks ago Prim.... Good one still oh sorry dude, I haven't read everything, been busy in my neck of the woods. I just thought people might get a laugh and a wake up call that the average American Granny is ready to kick your ass. Sorry for the repost then. My fault
  21. I know your culture does not condone this Sparticus, I know that is true. I know the Quran has many passages about respecting and loving the women of the home, take no offense at anything posted here about the subject. This subject is significant only because this horrible woman is trying to use the Religious freedoms of the USA as an excuse to justify her actions, it should not reflect on the Muslim faith, only her own actions. I will back you up on your faith and culture should it ever come up. Take Care my friend.
