Whenever you press joystick buttons and sticks, JoyToKey will convert the joystick input into keyboard strokes or mouse movements so that the target application works as if you used a real keyboard or mouse. The password protected slots are called VIP slots, currently the VIP system does not work. The VIP system was disabled by DICE. When or if DICE brings the VIP system back online, your name will be added to the VIP list and you will be given automated priority for a slot, another player not on the list will be kicked automatically so you can play. I am watching for the VIP system to be turned on, when that happens it will be utilized.

I can only offer a couple of suggestions Close Origin and Battlelog C:/Program files (x86)/Origin Games/Battlefield 3 Right click Battlefield 3 folder select properties-security and make sure it is set for everyone-right click bf3.exe and select run as administrator and try repair again. (I had this issue and I did this and it never happened again) Close Origin and Battlelog If it still fails rename the folder called "Update" to something else and try repair again. If it works delete the renamed folder

I get upper 60s and 70's with a few dips here and there running 1920x1080 with Ultra textures, x16 AF, hbao, AA off and either high or medium for everything else I forget now I've changed those back and forth so many times. 60-10 is a massive swing, you might be running out of vram and your card is not keeping up. I read all that and I'm not sure where you were at in the process, installing or updating? Did you open Origin click "My Games" and RIGHT click the BF3 icon and select "Repair Install"?

If your running 250fps make sure you also set your maxpackets to at least 84 (3:1) or 125 (2:1) (I bet yours are set to 60) /com_maxfps 250 (0 is max FPS but I recommend 125 which is what the Quake3 engine was made to run at) /cl_maxpackets "84" (63 for 125fps) /r_multigpu "1" (Verify) Others: /sm_enable 0 (Turns off unique Shadows and boosts FPS more than most commands.) /snaps "30" (20 for slow connection-40 for fast connection-your max is server side) /com_hunkmegs 512-2048 (this is half your ram typically, for you set it to 2048 for better load times) EDIT: As a reminder you can experience bad lag spikes and increased pings with maxpackets over 100, it's a balance and depends on your connection.

BUDMAN just got the game .....black friday i think it was for 29.99 .................That is not the issue everytime i join our 64 bf3 server i die with in 2 to 5 secs of the spawn................................. cant even move... do i need to go to a rank up server or .......????? If your just getting spawnkilled, I think it's better to spawn one control point back and run up to the next, either that or spawn with a camper squadmate, seems like everytime I spawn at the forward control points I spawn in the middle of the entire enemy team and I just give them another kill so I avoid that most of the time. Look for dead bodies and take their gun, it will give you all their equipment too. If you want to rank up fast you can go to a 64 player 24/7 metro server and spawn as Supply. Stand in the back and throw down ammo packs in the middle of the mob by the staircase, stay away from the escalators, you'll start getting supply ribbons like crazy and every 50 ribbons you'll get a medal that will give you 10k xp each. You still gotta unlock the weapon upgrades but at least you'll have better weapons to choose from. You can also do the Co-Op missions to unlock weapons for every class except for I think Supply. If you see me in the server, let me know what gun and scope you want and I can blow myself up with a nade and you can take my gun and equipment, or I can put down a spawn beacon for you somewhere, up to you.

Gamers have more laws and regulations coming, they try to say it's an addiction with these dumb studies, they try to say it has an influence and a reflection on society instead of understanding that it's a reflection OF society. I struggled with this issue like a month ago. For BF3 video ram is a factor to concider, I usually use between 1.4GB and 1.7GB of vram for BF3 depending on the map, I am very happy that I spent a little more for the 2GB version of the card. DEEJAYKEG 2cuteSue - New update patch!! Its official!!! Patch didnt help me none!!! I'm still getting my ass kicked!! +1 I don't know if it's a single problem or something that is now going to be par for the course... I had problems connecting to the XI 64-slot server - waited as it said "Loading Level" for about 100 seconds. Deciding that the game had crashed again, I quit back to Origin (BF3 had not stopped working) and tried again. No joy so I decided to come out of the whole thing, shut down the battle log, shut down Origin and then I could hear the intro audio for the Caspian Border map and in it loaded! Played the game as usual then, when I left the game, the battle log didn't appear - in fact, I had nothing running. The jets are now pretty much invincible to fire from the ground. Helicopters are easy meat - IR flares don't seem to work for them at all. When you consider that, at the end of that game, the jet pilot had a k/d of 20:1 that shows how crazy the balancing has become. Stingers are useless and the LAV-AD doesn't last five minutes as its missiles are similarly impotent against aircraft. Contrary to what DICE announced, I suspect that mines are indeed persisting beyond a player's death. Great! This was exactly what I was talking about on your thread about the update yesterday. The jets were already powerful enough, they were able to hit flares and climb straight up out of range for them to reset. Second they could jet ram helis out the sky. Sounds like the Helis got nerfed to me. My other fear was that IRNV would be useless since it's purpose is really for distance spotting (400 yrds in real life, that's a quarter mile), they said they were adjusting it to close range, that didn't sound good. They also increased LMG full auto accuracy while decreasing all other guns, which sounded like a cod4 overpowered LMG sniping game scenario to me (shutter). I hope it's not that bad my fears where just based on the patch notes not what I have experienced so I'll give it a chance, you guys know more than I do about it right now. I haven't seen it yet, since the patch, but I'll see what your talking about with the jets here very shortly. I'll just cross my fingers and log in and try it here in the next 2 hrs or so. This game is just way too cool for them to mess it up that bad, I hope.

Wow thanks for the heads up Deejay, I have two comments and their both kind of negative but for positive reasons. My thoughts: 1- I'm very concerned that they are releasing another patch that combines 3 things at the same time. I see more people having more problems. Personally I would prefer an expansion update, a bug fix update and a balance tweak update spaced out abit so bugs can be tracked easier. I hope this update is solid that's all I can say, I don't like that it didn't have a beta test first. 2- I don't know about you guys but I don't like some of those "balance tweaks" at all. I hope they don't upset the balance that would be ironic wouldn't it? Hey but at least we get new maps and they seem to be working on stuff and moving along pretty well, I'm excited about this expansion and glad their moving forward on the bug fixes.
