I played on a 1k server and got 21 didn't even show the pictures just one ribbon with 21 next to it, I think the after game point rewards process took as long as the game did

Sonovabich Half the fun of these games is ranking up and earning new weapons and perks etc, never seen the point of all this cheating crap, i don't know what they get out of it. +1 If I got everything for free I wouldn't have near as much fun, I enjoy fighting for that upgrade that I want even when it's not what I expected when I get it

When I play sniper I play front line but I don't use the bolt action weapons, but if you were going to play backline like that I would recommend ranking up your co-op points and unlocking the M-39 EMR semi-auto it has the same x12 scope upgrade as the sv98 but with the semi-auto follow up shot capability and 20rounds instead of 10 and can still use a bipod if you like, second if your just wanting to get your sniping skills up you might want to play on a hardcore server that has spotting turned off and no killcam. Also I like taking a few practice shots on a wall/building across the map to check my bullet drop as soon as I spawn before I hit the real fight, I find practice shots very useful for finding the max range of a weapon before drop adjustment starts to really effect my shot. I'm not an expert at sniping Murlock is way better than me, those are just a few things I have found helpful so far.

It's a great card but it is also a sensitive card, reminds me of setting an equalizer on a stereo. All up or all down sounds like crap but fine tune adjustment for preference can yield that perfect sound. I have the foundation set, but juuuuust a little more tweaking needed. This thread was both me venting my frustration and asking for suggestions at the same time, The card is working great I just never had all these options before, it has been a learning experience for me, and you guys helped me alot, thank you

Ruggerxi Thank you for every ones responses. It looks like we leave the 64 slots the way it is for now and we add a 32 slot rush/conquest mixed server running hardcore. Turn off team kill. I will get this new server setup today I hope and then I will forward the info onto Mofo and Ukildme to setup. This is great news, somehow you found a way to please everybody. I still wouldn't mind adding some mix to the 64 slot but it is great just the way it is as well, no complaints whatsoever. Thank you yet again Rugger we really appreciate this

I solved my problem it was a balance issue between AA/AF and I had it backwards, AF is for depth and clarity and AA is for smoothing/softening (that cartoon look) the default low/med/high/ultra settings are not properly set up for a balance between them and that was alot of the problem. So I went to control panel and set it to a proper balance and that was messed up too and still that does not work, So I went to custom and set AF to x16 and turned off both AA settings and the last setting occlusion, I think it is, to highest and there it was, I can see forever again and the shadows are back. Played the round got 10/6 killing people I never could have seen without this adjustment. What a nightmare, I have never had to do this with any video card since I bought my first 3dFX Voodoo2 2000 pci patch card back in the 90's. Even if the default setting for it WAS all screwed up, it was just a setting and not the card itself. Thanx for the suggestion Merlin it got me in a mindset to consider other options and led me to the solution, and I appreciate it. BTW Goat many might disagree with me on this but this has been my experience with this game and this card, I think that the quality settings of this game are more of a preference than quality. I can run ultra everything but it's not the best setting for me, some of my settings are ultra some are medium some off and some maxed and getting it all right with this card was seriously BS but I did get it. I don't think your missing much if that gives you any peace of mind.

well my k/d with this card is now down to below .5/1 from a consistant 1/1 since the game came out, all it is doing is ruining my stats, I'm gonna try a few more things and if they don't work I'm putting my 8800gts back in my machine so far this card sucks

I tried that but it doesn't work, still x1 aniso minimum in the game with this card and I can still turn it up to x16 even with it off in control panel, I was hoping there might be a game command or another tweak I could use to get rid of it.

I'm going to ask the question first and then explain, how do I turn off anisotropic filtering completely with this card in BF3? I posted this here because my issue is with how the card effects BF3 specifically. I just got my brand new MSI Twin Frozer II 560ti 2GB OC'd video card yesterday and installed it and went into the game and I was very disappointed. I checked the settings and they were set to "auto" and all settings were maxed out- Ultra everything x16 x4 etc at 1080p and the game looked like crap. WTF? Is it a driver? nope got the new one, what's the problem? My old 8800gts looks way better. So I start going through all the settings and messing around with different combinations and set everything to the lowest settings that the card would allow, WAY BETTER visual detail with sharp crisp edges were back but still not quite as good as my 8800gts and then I noticed that when I turn all settings to low it still requires me to run anisotropic filtering at x1 instead of off. So I turn all settings back to max (yep total crap again) then I drop aniso filtering to x1 and BAMM way better but still not as good as off. Now since the game has come out I have been playing on low/off on everything and I see EVERYTHING with stunning detail and the game is perfect but I have an obvious FPS loss with my ancient 8800gts, what I see is that the difference between Ultra and Low is that Ultra has these nice smooth edges, texture meshing and looks like an oil painting, but with everything set to low/off it looks more like a photograph with nice crisp edges and no meshing, everything actually looks "real", I can see every leaf on every tree every shadow and the slightest movement from across the map, a far superior gaming experience. Before I return this card I'm willing to give it a chance to fix this issue if anyone has any video tweak recommendations that will actually work in BF3 I would welcome them. What I would really like is a way to shut down anisotropic completely to get the same superior visual quality I have with my 8800gts with the 560ti FPS boost. I'll leave my encyclopedia message there before I write a bigger book, right now I'm just really frustrated with this card and the first time I have had a game where better is worse. CoD4 actually gets better when you turn the settings up, why would this one get worse?

Well really the answers are both yes and no. You don't need to open Origin to play the game or select the game from there so NO you can just goto battlelog to launch the game or you can launch it from Steam if you like. But the answer is YES you need to use your browser to select and enter a game.
