Ever since the last update I have not been experiencing lag problems as I was prior; I still get the occassional spike as with any other server I on which I have played. If you're still getting massive lag you might want to adjust your settings (video & sound), and verify your computer has been cleaned, defragged and stuff like that, hopefully that will help you with the lag issues.
I love the 64 person server and I believe the head admins have done an excellent job with getting it up and running as smoothly as they already have done. I wouldn't change a thing, the server is heavily populated throughout the day, or at least when I am on there. Do we want to decrease traffic and reduce the amount of players on the server by switching to 32? I don't think that is a good thing to do.
I believe if we could get a second server, a 32 slot and make it mixed that everyone, or at least the majority, would be satisfied. I don't know if that's an option, but its my opinion.
As far as regular vs. hardcore, exactly how many of the regular players actually play hardcore? When I am normally playing, between 5pm to 9pm EST I know of only 3 or 4 people who play regularly and play hardcore on a different server. This leads me to ask is the debate between regular and hardcore really an issue? Nothing against those who play hardcore, but by switching to hardcore on our server if it reduces the traffic would the switch be worth it?
+1
64 Players is a minimum for me, I like all the action going on and the server has been loaded since the recent adjustments. I also have to vote for normal/softcore because I'm a medic and hardcore decreases the effectiveness of that position, what can I say I'm into the teamwork aspect of the game (when I'm not crashing helicopters of course). A mixed rush/conquest setup would be great, a second server would be cool for those who want less action as well. Overall I love the server like it is but would welcome a mixed rush/conquest setup as Iron stated earlier.
And thank you admins and Rugger for the server setup, you've done a great job and we're loving it.
