  1. Oh gosh Ted, I don’t take much of this to heart. I have always said I am in favor of a healthy opposition and apposing viewpoints make for a healthy society in the long run. As for Tim and his mothers basement? I was being Facetious since he is blogger and wears that silly beenie lol. My commentary were directed at his comments, I realize he was pandering to his audience. It’s amusing that the right wing media use Trudeau as a whipping boy. Isn’t Biden and his gaffs enough? Lol And Harry, you are correct, Trudeau is an asshole but for this reason.
  2. Tim Pool can call himself whatever we wishes to for that is his provocative. He is a political pundit and according to the dictionary, it's "a person who makes comments or judgments, especially in an authoritative manner; critic or commentator." Now I just questioned the accuracy of Pools statement in respect to this nation. To some they would take his idle commentary as just talk on an never ending debate on gun violence, but to this nation its more than that. This nation wishes to be pro-active about preventing such events. Heaven forbid a nation wishes to be make meaningful changes that can potentially save lives. The reality is Tim Pool doesn't care what this nation does but only to use it as a political talking point so he can frame it to his beliefs and nothing less. That is the point I was making Ted, Tim Pool only wants to use this article for drive up passion for what he believes, he couldn't care less what Canadians think. Its odd that you completely omitted that portion? As for his credibility? Pool is a public figure and along with that comes criticism at times. Its not only our right, its our job to openly look at the motives of our media and politicians. I have watched you for year be incredibly critical of the media and said little for it was your right and I believe in that. I would hope you would give the same respect in return. PS. There is probably several things I see eye to eye with Tim Pool, but on this comment... he is out to lunch, with respect of course.
  3. Ted, there is no evidence TIm Pool is a liberal or anything close to being one except for his word and that’s it. Being a beanie-clad Occupy Wall Street livestreamer running around the streets doesn’t make you anything but a wannabe. Stop the Steal activists, Capitol rioters, QAnon and Pizzagate promoters, 9/11 truthers, grifters, anti-vaxxers, gun advocates and so on and so on have been on his show. He has been toasted by Trump, invited to the White House and excepted. He is a wildly successful YouTube pundit with an opinion that the far right has accepted and like FOX News…business is booming! So yes, no liberal or moderate or left of right moderate would except he was ever a moderate or liberal by the content of his show. But Tim has a place and a voice and I can appreciate that, hence I thanked him like any kind and considerate Canadian would lol. As for attacking him personally? Lol I don’t think he was bruised by my comments but America is a free nation and it’s my right to question the source and credibility of the source and the information. If we can’t do that, then are we really free? His comments on gun laws in Canada are his own opinion and shows he knows little to nothing about this country. Ted, vast amount of Canadians believe in strong logical gun laws, close to 70 percent. In what case has 70 percent of Americans agreed on something. His comments are factually incorrect and only shows is lack of knowledge on the subject. One thing is true and he is incredibly affective at stirring strong support from the right wing in support for no gun laws and the protection of the second. The man knows his audience.
  4. Tim Pool should remain in his mothers basement… oh I forgot! Thank you!
  5. I’m sorry hear about your trouble my friend, my wife is immune compromised so we both wear a mask in public. I’m sympathetic to your situation for sure.
  6. “Thank you for your point of view young man, can I order my fries now?” Lol
  7. This is a discussion about gun control and how we should address tragedies such as this. Harry is American (red, white and blue) with Canadian ties and I can truly appreciate his insight, hell I encourage it. We all have an opinion regardless where we are from. This is not a question of patriotism for no one here is questioning ones intent or trash anyone's home. If your patriotism is fragile then I would suggest not talking about, with respect of course. Its just a chat between idiots about something we all can be passionate about.
  8. I am not sure where we are going with this, we are getting into the weeds on specifics when in reality it should be a discussion on the root cause. There are probably numerous ways to get around any restriction if you wish to. Either you have a passion to make a difference and push for changes, or your willing to except tragedies such as this and have the status quo. I hope tragic events such as this will encourage people to push for some change. Good points Mike.
  9. Im a dual citizen numb nuts and been part of XI since 2007. I will get you a pass since your an idiot like myself (lol).
  10. I’m not sure why we have to argue over a silly “name” of a weapon. It’s semantic and it’s stupid. In 1994, President Clinton signed an assault-weapons ban, which banned the AR-15 and other similar semiautomatic rifles. Here is a partial list where this weapon was used, among other weapons. May 24, 2022: Uvalde elementary school shooting where 22 died including 19 children. Feb. 14, 2018: Shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Florida leaves 17 people dead. Oct. 1, 2017: The Las Vegas slaughter of 58 people. Nov. 5, 2017: The Sutherland Springs, Texas, church shooting that claimed 26 lives. June 12, 2016: The Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Fla., that left 49 dead. Dec. 2, 2015: The San Bernardino, Calif., shooting that killed 14 people. Dec. 14, 2012: The shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut that took 27 lives.
  11. That is a great start Ted, for it certainly goes after the criminals who use these weapons in violent crimes. I am very much in favor of our government going after and including an increase in criminal penalties for smuggling and perps who trafficking in firearms. My only issue is these laws would not have prevented Sandy Hook, Uvalde or many other mass shooting that used assault style weapons. Now I am not saying there should be an all out ban on these weapon for gun enthusiast have been using these weapon for years. My thoughts are if you wish to purchase this style of weapon, you must go through a very in-depth registration, mental health and criminal check. These are weapons that are designed for maximize destruction at an extremely lethal speed. With that privilege comes the highest responsibility in gun ownership.
  12. Guys, we are talking apples and oranges. Gun culture in this nation is drastically different than in the US. Any attempt to make comparisons is futile. Canadian gun laws are complicated, dividing firearms into categories with requirements including registration, permits, training courses and exams for all allowed weapons. First-time owners must also fill out a survey that asks about mental health and criminal record. There is a background check and mandatory 28-day waiting period. Canada also has no law or constitutional provision guaranteeing the right to bear arms. Those measures didn’t spare the country from tragic gun deaths in the years to come and before as seen at Ecole Polytechnique in 1989. People might say that Canada has lost her innocence now, that she is a different place. The reality is that Canada is open to the same kind of hate that exists anywhere else; we’re just more polite when we voice our outrage. The difference Mike is this nation is not going to sit on her lorals and watch as innocent people are mowed down senselessly. We are not going to stand and watch our politicians sit back and do absolutely nothing. You may think we are being prayed apon but remember that is your prospective from your own life experiences. It’s an entirely different world here and we are merely hundred of miles away from you. People always put it in prospective of personal Freedoms. Well, I can take my grandson to school knowing he will come home that evening. That the chances are almost zero that he will not from a random person who wishes to kill the innocent with a weapon that’s sole purpose is to do as much damage as fast as possible. That’s freedom! That my loved ones have a best chance of not being caught in a crossfire and if we can make that possibility even less, then I’m all for it. I want every dam gun off the street and the perps who use guns in violent crime be thrown in jail to rot. If gun enthusiast need to jump through a few more hoops well so be it. If this nations population wish to be actionary about gun laws then so be it. It is a lot less painful then to be reactionary and do absolutely nothing after a mass shooting like in Uvalde, Texas.
  13. Crunch! What are you talking about? Do you live in a major city where gun violence is dramatically increasing in Canada. I haven’t seem many but I have done imaging on a patient with a gun wound, they are not pretty.
  14. Good subject Harry and there is certainly a lot to discussion about gun laws in this country. The vast majority of this nation believe in strong meaningful gun laws. This nation has shown it does not have the stomach for mass shooting like what happened in Nova Scotia last year and École Polytechnique massacre in 1989. I for one am not in favor of a full on ban on handguns. New gun control legislation the federal government tabled today includes a national freeze on the purchase, sale, importation and transfer of handguns in Canada. What I do like about the law is they included increasing criminal penalties for smuggling and trafficking of firearms, and a "red flag" law which would require people deemed a threat to themselves or others to turn in their firearms or have them removed by law enforcement. Also included was a number of people would be exempt from the handgun restrictions, including elite sport shooters and those with authorization to carry, such as valuable goods carriers. What it falls short is getting to the root cause of gun violence in our cities: illegal guns smuggled into Canada by criminal gangs. https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/canadians-favour-stricter-gun-control-mandatory-buyback-of-banned-firearms-poll-1.5368354?cache=ftdpqpcfvtwjihs
  15. I have read a lot about the term “red flag laws” or as they are legally termed Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPO). These orders, handed down by a judge or police, can temporarily restrict firearm access to individuals who are believed to present a risk of violence — either to themselves or against other persons. The concept seems to be gaining some traction following the recent deadly shootings in Buffalo, N.Y., and Uvalde, Texas, a potential compromise in the never-ending debate over gun control. The laws, depending on the state, allow for a range of people — including families, household members, community members, or law enforcement officers — to petition a court directly for an ERPO. Basically there has to be credible evidence that this person is very likely to hurt themselves or another, It has to be a very credible threat. It's not that someone overheard someone say, 'Oh, I hate these people.' No, that's not credible evidence of a threat. Problem is some states are reluctant to have such laws for they infringe on one’s civil liberties. That the introduction of red flag laws and it’s impact on civil liberties, and the precedent it sets for the use of coercive measures against individuals, not because they are alleged to have committed any crime, but because somebody believes they might, someday, commit one is to extreme. My thoughts? These laws won’t stop all mass shootings. There are plenty individuals who would go unnoticed but, it’s a very good start. If one mass shooting could be prevented by laws such as these, it’s well worth it. I would suspect numerous families would be grateful. We haven’t even spoken about the civil liberties of those who were brutally killed.
  16. Hey Dawg! It’s great to hear from you again my friend. Are you still in Bonny Lake? I occasionally drive past that area when I am on my way to see family. Good to see you back!
  17. Argh! Guys, a country so divided you think the one thing that would unite us would be the safety and wellbeing of our children. Its seems while many Americans have had no experience with guns and can’t imagine why anyone would own a gun at all, let alone use one, there are just as many people who are brought up in families in which guns are woven into the very fabric of their lives. We argue the merits of both sides, yet another horrific images comes across our screens... and still nothing is done. "As the slaughter increases, as our kids run for their lives, we do nothing. It is a choice, our choice.” When do we stop defending our positions and start a real conversation where we put words into ACTIONS! Improve mental health checks!, Improve background checks!, don't prohibit gun ownership of any types but make sure people realize its a privilege and not something you can easily get at 18. Hell you can't even vote for shit sakes. How long do we have to collectively mourn together before we say its enough?
  18. That looks amazing! We are going to be in Corfu for 3 weeks. This gets us close to the mainland so we can explore and hike. We are staying at a Airbnb.
  19. Congrats, that is amazing news. Marry that girl before she realize what she is getting into lol. On another note, where were you in Greece. I will be there in 3 weeks.
  20. What is wrong with this world? My heart sinks to the thought that this is even possible. I can’t imagine the awful pain and despair these families are experiencing tonight and will for what will seem forever. If you have children or grandchildren, please hold them a little longer tonight, and pray for those who can not.
  21. Hey There, I’m glad to hear your making a healthy recovery. I am in radiology and we see Avascular Necrosis reasonably often. Do you have a vascular disorder such as diabetes or lupus… or a history Hip dysplasia. Either way, good to see your home and high as a kite lol
  22. Argh! I am very sad to hear Stars passing. He was an incredibly easing going individual and a joy to game with. You could always count on Star to be respectful and to make any server a fun place to be. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Stars family and loved ones. Pete (Ter)
  23. Crunch, please. No reason for this anymore. Time to build a bridge my friend.
