another factor is the routing between you and the game server. look at me and window. we live about 5 miles apart but his ping is normally half of mine on the XI servers. i think window's provider has their servers in the chicago area while mine is either downstate illinois or missouri. this means if the game server is in chicago, windows provider is close but i have to get routed downstate and back. if you are really curious, you can do a traceroute to the game server IP and see all the switching delays between you and the server.

Sparty, Any harware changes prior to this starting? PCI Express sounds like a vid card issue. How many slots do you have and what is in them? Did you update the vid driver recently? If so, maybe thats the problem. If not, check for updates. Not sure what card you have, but is your power supply properly sized for it (dont just look at total watts, you have to have enough power on the proper rails)? Have you recently used tweaking software (like nTune) to speed up your vid card? Tempest

yes general, i have seen it too. some people take the game way to seriously and get upset when they lose. calling out players ( members or non-members) for their scores in that manner is BS and takes the fun out of the game. barking out orders during game play is irritating too. new players will never feel welcome. when i first started playing, it was me and one other guy on a XI server. he could tell i was new by my run, stop, aim and die before i could shoot technique. he stopped play to give me a bunch of pointers. that's how people should be treated and why i stuck around XI. so if you are bummed about your scores and feel like you need some pointers, let me know i will help you out.... Its an Xfire vid. Watching it i realized the sound was not recorded (dammit), but still is obvious cheating. Window would spawn and hide and wait and he would toss nades without ever seeing him. i will send u one of them.

Lt. I have video and I think Window does too, what is the best way to get it reviewed? When I take video, the files tend to get very large. I can Xfire them to an admin. Or is there a better way? Is there a common place on the website where this stuff can be uploaded?

Pete, by the way, i am not try to diss any admins. We all have lives outside of gaming ( I hope). Just looking for alternative ways to keeps the servers clean. I did get ahold of a COD5 admin, but he said he couldnt kick the guy. Are only COD2 admins allowed to kick from COD2 servers?

There was another hacker on the TDM server this morning and I took some video of him. I wanted to get an admin in so he could be kicked but no one was available. It was an obvious wall hack, so I asked him to please leave the server but he either didn't understand English or didn't care. His name was Passarinho Brasil. I can send the video to whoever wants to see it. It sucks when there are no admins available because a hacker can just stay and do what he wants and ruin the fun for everyone else. Luckily it was just me and Window in the server so I just followed the guy around and shot at him so Window could find and kill him (LOL). He finally got the hint and left. OK, since my suggestion of running PB on the COD2 servers didn't go over too well, I have another possible idea. I think servers can be set up so that the people in the game can vote to kick players. Since I always hear that members are expected to help police the servers, maybe it could be set up so that members could vote to temporarily kick non members when they are suspected of cheating. To prevent abuse, maybe require a min number of kick votes from the members before the player gets booted. Any thoughts? Bullet

LT LAS One was Farmer Clem. I might still have video of him. Definitely appeared to me to have a wall hack. He was lining up shots from behind objects. Might have been kicked already. Problem with videos is the file size gets large very fast so to send it in takes forever. I was hoping to avoid taping or chasing down admins by letting PB do the work. Do other servers have issues running PB with custom mods and maps? If this is the case it seems like PB would be useless because i don't think too many run just stk maps and mods.

I see Newf recently posted about a suspected hacker on one of the servers. I too have seen players I suspect. They come in, download maps and then dominate over good experienced players. After a few games or an admin coming in they leave (or stay and dont do as well). So my question, is there a reason we don't run punkbuster on any of the COD2 servers? I think it would eliminate some of these problems because these hackers seek out non PB servers. Just my $2 (2 cents doesnt buy shit anymore). Bullet
