Kapt, i think you mean DC mA, not volts. Make sure you have your test leads in the correct inputs. Usually A is a different input from V. That was going to be my suggestion too. Start pulling fuses until you see the current drop. One other thing. Not sure how you tested the alternator, but i had an alternator that charged the battery fine but was actually the problem. I might have had a bad rectifier diode or who knows what, but when replaced the battery stopped draining.

I play on windows 7 without a problem, but not sure about 8.1. Sometimes it makes a difference if you "run as administrator". Try that for loading and running. Does 8.1 have a compatibility mode where you can run as an earlier version of windows? Don't forget to load the patch!

if you go to your voice chat settings in COD2 and tap the mic, does the level indicator move at all? does that app happened to be turned down in your windows sound mixer? in my windows sound settings i have 2 places i can adjust mic level. if you have the same are both turned up? (although one would think this would affect all apps) i also have a check box in my windows settings for letting apps take exclusive control. is it possible another app has exclusive control? just spit balling some ideas.
