Welcome to the XI forums and our servers! Great to have you with us Tolkmaster! You just keep on playing and chatting with us, get to know us a bit, and I am sure an Admin will take notice of you at some point and invite you to join.

According to gametracker, the last time he was with us was Nov 12th, 2010 on the FT-MW2 server. He plays lots of games and lots of servers. You may need to dump your maps/mod folders and start fresh. Move them to another file if you like.. and let the game download the MW2 mods and maps again. That usually takes care of conflicts, corrupt files, and such. That sounds like what you have going on. Yes Harry, all the info is still there. If you create an image like nut said, that will save it so you will have it if you fuck it up trying to recover the data. Then use find and mount (the link in my last post) or a similar program to get your files. If you don't know what you are doing, find someone there who actually does.

Yes, you should be able to recover the files with a program like Nick is talking about. The only thing the IT guy did was replace the boot sector, which makes the files under old boot invisible. I am sure you probably know all that anyway, but I've had good luck recovering files that my drive 'couldn't see'. Lemme know if I can be of any help to ya. If the IT guy did what you describe, he will be clueless as to how to help you recover the files. DON'T let him touch the computer again. The more you boot up and use it, the more likely you are to overwrite something important that you won't be able to recover. http://findandmount.com/ This has helped me loads.

Sorry Nick, but this 'ole Bama boy loved every minute of the ass whooopin that we put on the Big Ten Co-champions. It was almost surreal when I saw Saban getting pissed on the sidelines because his 4th string tailback took a handoff, ran straight ahead into the MSU D-line, and turned it into a 67 yard run into the endzone to push the score up to 48. Poor kid was just doing what he was taught to do. It just goes to show ya that there is no real science to the rankings in the FBS. I think they are 'ballpark' at best. I'd like to get to braggin' real good on the SEC in general, but damn South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee keep me from talking too loud at this point.

I always get that message, I always SAY NO. As you have seen, saying yes resets you to default. Set up your config the way you want it, and then make a copy of it and keep it in another folder where it is SAFE. If you ever click 'yes' to that question again, you can go back to the saved copy and paste it into your folder to get back to your modified config. I, like you, learned this the hard way
