LIVE FIXES 11/10 GameServers.com has bumped sv_maxrate to 25000 across all servers to reduce lag. GameServers.com continues to improve official server distribution in various worldwide regions. 11/11 Friends fix for join in progress and Friends tab in server browser. Performance improvement for dual and quad core. Improved connectivity with Black Ops Rcon tool. IN PROGRESS GPU hitching on certain graphics cards. Incomplete server browser results. Improvements to Quickmatch joins (results with better ping and reduced lag). Zombies "The game session is no longer available" error.

I have dual 460GTX SLI and I'm wide open on all games including Black Ops - incredible graphics. Can't go wrong with this card.

Rugger you MADE MY DAY - and made a mess of my pants. I am not a fan of TDM. That's because most of your teammates suck. I play only DM so I can shoot every frickin thing that moves, and I just creamed my jeans on news that we're coverting that third server to DM. I am fully prepared to kiss your ass on the city hall steps.

We're all just as frustrated. I can find no way to get to them. Maybe we can pick a Trayarch server and "adopt" it until our servers get straightened out.

That's because they are not responding to the Black Ops master server. And so, you cannot join them. Xfire is attempting to contact them, but is failing. I have not a clue as to why, since whoever is working on them has yet to update us as to their status since yesterday.

Sonovabtch, I believe that message means you need to give Xfire Admin rights. Right click and run as admin.

Click on Tools, then Options, then Games, and it should detect it installed on your system.

OK. Just to add to this. I've now added the second XI Black Ops server to the Clan Xfire list. If you now open Xfire on your desktop and let it detect all installed games, it will add Black Ops to your Xfire. Now, go to Servers in Xfire (the third button down on the left) and then scroll down to "All." You'll see that you now are showing both XI Black Ops servers. However, both are returning the message that they are Password Protected, and each "is not responding to information query." So, we apparently do have some configuration issues on our servers. Why are they password protected?

I added Black Ops to the Clan Xfire server list, and then added Ranked Server 1 via its IP. I then attempted to access it through the clan Xfire and got this response: Sorry, but this server can't be reached. This could be because there is no server running at the address requested, or that the server is not responding to our query. - I used to run game servers and I wonder if we've missed a setting; the one that sends a "heartbeat" to the master Black Ops server? It seems that the Master Server is not recognizing our Black Ops servers. ???

With COD4 you can start the game, open the game console, and do "connect (ISP)" and find the server. That's what I was talking about. I'm at work now or I'd try it.

As long as you have a valid serial no., borrow an English version disc from a friend and use your serial when it asks for it. Don't see why that won't work - the serial no. is not pegged to the particular install disc.

Guess that's why it stalled trying to retrive my "data" or some such when I tried to get back in. If anyone figures out how to "aim down the barrel," holler. Otherwise, graphics are nice but gameplay is somewhat slow. And weapons sounds - at least for the first several guns - suck. I'm not jerking off over this one as yet, we'll see how it goes.
