  1. Congrats to the USA for the gold!
  2. Welcome to the forums! I'm originally from Nova Scotia (Cape Breton) as well, and I've been in Ontario for the past 6 years. Missing the East Coast!
  3. The former head of the World Anti-Doping Agency was a Canadian named "Dick Pound" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_Pound
  4. Hey! Why u no say "FU Astronomer"! Oh, wait, you're not in the Political forum... And yeah, I think our forums work very well for reasons others have stated above. - Craig
  5. Even some well-known celebrities have succumbed to this horrible addiction. You have to pity those people for what they've become, but where's the personal responsibility? Did anyone hold them down and force them into their addiction? Still very sad to see.
  6. Ooooooooooo, shiny! Put me down for 1!
  7. Agreed Hxtr. I can control the lights from my Andoid and Apple devices, and the home theater receiver/amp that I bought in the Boxing Day sales can also be controlled via our "i" devices, as can our hacked Apple TV set-top box. The iPad/iPhone has become our universal remote. We had a bunch of x10 devices years ago, and we eventually dropped it for the reasons that you mentioned.
  8. It's an interesting piece of architectural lighting technology. Many home architects nowadays are painting rooms a light colour and using lights like this for colour, atmosphere and flexibility. Being a gadget guy (and I'm not a Mac fanboi. Disclaimer: There is Apple product in my house), I am curious about this piece of kit. My starter pack should be in my hands today or tomorrow. I'm putting one in my home office/man-cave and the others in the home entertainment room in the basement. I like the idea of being able to change from a reading light to say, a dim red or blue for gaming, or from reading to something unobtrusive for movie watching. If we go away for a time, I don't have to dig the light timers out of the basement storage room. Right now, they are expensive, but as more competing product hits the market, they will come down. Current cost of the starter kit (controller and 3 bulbs) is $199, and $50 for additional bulbs. These are also standards based and will integrate into other home automation systems.
  9. The cool thing about this is that it has a sensitivity and resolution 100 times greater than the xBox Kinnect. You don't have to do grand exaggerated gestures. Rest your forearm on your desk like you do with a mouse, and instead of holding a mouse, you point your hand and finger, twitch your thumb to change weapons, flick another to reload, another gesture to toss a grenade, etc. this has possibilities. We'll see. I love my N52te and R.A.T7 game mouse, but I'm open to new things. For general computing this will be awesome. I also ordered two because you can chain them together for a larger sense field i.e. two or more can cover a larger area.
  10. I've got 2 of these on order, delivery in "Winter 2013". I pre-ordered mine a few months ago. https://leapmotion.com/
  11. Canadian Prime Ministers don't need RCMP or Secret Service-like protection (except Stephen Harper. He really wants the powers and trappings of a President). As someone mentioned earlier, there was an intruder into the PM's official residence. Former PM Jean Chretien bashed him over the head with an Inuit scuplture. HE also gave a protester the "Shawinigan Handshake" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shawinigan_Handshake
  12. Crap! I missed a full page of Canadian LMAO art. Ooops!
  13. Welcome to the forums Yvon/Yankee! Enjoy yourself here and in the game servers.
  14. I appreciate your admission and contrition, old_man. There just may be hope for you yet.
  15. ??? Offended, moi??? I merely pointed out a petite error in your aging memory mon ami! Respectfully, with no insult explicit or implicit to your great country, and friend of my country, vous êtes un idiot!
  16. A Canadian "High-5" to little_old_man!
  17. boo-effing-hoo. Get your ass back in the politics forum if you feel so strongly about whatever splinter is stuck in your ass. So much for your promise to ignore my posts, Eh? ROFL!!! Ummm... it was you who promised to ignore me. From your last reply to me: "Don't bother responding, I won't read it or reply to PM's or posts you make on the boards from this point forward. It's a complete waste of my time"

  19. For once I agree with old_man. All true. A better video card will let you play with more eye-candy and world-immersion, and in my opinion is the most important item in regards to your hardware if you intend to do any upgrades. Also playing without distractions (smart-phone, laptop, tablet etc.) is huge. When I'm distracted, my kill-to-death ratio plummets. When I am focused solely on the game, good things happen (to me).
  20. Man I can relate to 97% of the first two posts!
